It pains me to say this, but Macklemore as an Irish American seems more culturally Irish than Ed.

It pains me only due to how Irish Americans claiming Irishness is seen as a bit cringe to us here because 99% of the time Irish Americans seem to be republicans (and not the Irish kind) and are quite culturally and politically more aligned with British unionists in the north here ironically enough.

Macklemore should be the model for Irish Americans to follow, if they truly care about their heritage - politically and culturally he seems much more aligned with our society.

To this day the British side of our government tries to suppress Irelands mother tongue. Until February last year it was actually against the law to use it in a courtroom... But even til this day we have no guarantee we can conduct such business in Irish. Same too goes for all legal paperwork.

When I was in school, it was defacto banned from being taught. I'm 35. I only speak a little Irish because of this. The language, one of Europe's oldest written languages, very nearly died along with a lot of Irelands ancient culture that actually did die.

The thing that infuriates me about the west is that everything they accuse non allied states of doing, they are also doing or have a long storied history of doing themselves.

The super power is embarrassing itself because it entered a war with no plan whereas Iran had been planning and preparing for this eventuality.

Thus Iran is not irrelevant to that. Irans planning and tactical positioning and responses to each enemy maneuver has the US in the position it is currently in, where it is embarrassing itself.

They're trying to lock tf in. That's why they're so readily willing to fight and escalate this war. The US has been stood on their necks for decades... Remove US presence from their region and undermine regional states confidence in US security assurances and Iran becomes the new regional hegemonic superpower.
