Yeah, I was surprised that the game translates semi decently onto a phone. Do I think I'll play long term? Probably not, but the controls are far more monster hunter than now was.

Also playing the bow. Bit disappointed that swag axe and boom stick aren't in the game but eh... Again I don't see this as a long term game for me.

Yeah, I knew he did others but I discovered that album yesterday after listening to my linked passage twice. I ended up listening to him reading the infamous POE-TAY-TOES section (link) and I love his smegol voice, it is fantastic! Like one of the YouTube commentators said, it is a cross between yoda and terry jones' lady voice

You are welcome! Ever since someone shared it with me, I've made it a point to share it when relevant. Like I enjoyed rob ingles' and Andy serkis' reads of the passage, and of course I love watching/ listening to the movie but this is like the best version. It just feels more authentic (and the movie in the background is a lovely touch)

It is even more impactful listening to Tolkien himself narrate this scene. You can tell how much it moves him.

Ninja edit: the complete edition does mention it is voiced by Nathan filion and mark hamil in the description. Also it mentions it includes extra material not in the original version. I think that is your best bet.

That sounds about right. Like if you are swearing an oath to God and this country, you kinda have to believe in god (or a god) for it to hold if that makes sense? I feel like people misuse god and religions for their own purposes and it mudies the water. I think the way your son is approaching religion is fair. He can still fulfill his oath and serve without forcing his views onto others.

I tend towards religion in a similar way. I am not religious, I probably wouldn't even believe in god in it wasn't for the fact I'm an eagle scout. I try my best to uphold the oath and law, I let people do their own thing while I do mine. So if I so happen to embrace Thor, it doesn't change who I am as a person. I will still do my duty to the best of my abilities.

I did the opposite, i pretty much used my weekends for homework and shit because btw the time is get home, I'd be brain dead from work. If I had to, I could do assignments during the week but more often than not, it was a weekend thing.

It also helped that I was single at the time and the only time that schedule got rough was during summer school (I did odu online pre 8 week courses... Glad I dodged that bullet 😅)
