I was being hyperbolic. I don’t think they’re the worst rpgs ever made, but for an industry leader, they might as well be.

I actually really wanted to like Andromeda and have tried to get into it many times, but its just not good.

Errentos

I hope so too, and I hope the amazing devs land on their feet too.

Errentos

And in 7 years all they managed to do was make two of the worst

Errentos

Haha that’s pretty good.

Errentos

I don’t even use the compass.

Errentos

Can I try it for a bit and see how I feel?

Errentos

It’s been here in Beijing for a couple of months now, initially alongside wasabi, but more recently with a korean butter cheese sauce.

Ranch has been sold out at all the places I’ve seen here for a few weeks though.

Errentos

You made a jedi subtype but not sith?

Errentos

I don’t think it’s guaranteed, but I think it might indicate that.

GTA6 is not going to be RDR2 with cars, but more like half way between 5 and RDR2, with a bit of 4 and San Andreas sprinkled in.

Probably worth waiting on release and watching gameplay/reviews to figure out if its for you.

Errentos

I have all content on release. I didn’t play much of admin government with byzantines, only engaged with that in a couple of playthroughs.

I was much more attracted to the RP of playing in China, the examinations, meritocracy, and all.

The thing I did find boring about AuH is becoming a minister or huangdi and having almost nothing to do at that point.

Climbing the ladder was the most fun part, getting to the top was not so much. Even with the later additions to ministers roles its still feeling half baked at that point.

But then I kind of feel like that in most of CK - being a minor lord or landless and clawing your way up is way more fun than managing a large kingdom or empire imo

Errentos

But you’re not interested in it… no one asked you to comment. Like if you dislike it, or if you like it - cool, share your thoughts, but if you just have no interest then commenting makes no sense unless you’re just looking for this sort of engagement

Errentos

Here’s the thing about art and hobbies - they’re always subjective. I’m sure you were just being hyperbolic, but you never can tell.

What you find boring, I find quite fun, and many others do too.

Errentos

And the silk road. Its a bit of a weird implementation but hopefully silk and silver will be making it make more sense (and the clue might be in the name there)

Errentos

Then why comment?

Errentos

Some fun choices to name in commander:

The One Ring
Sol Ring
Island

Edit: didn’t read ‘nonland’

Errentos

Mercenaries.

Yeah it was an epic voyage, and so relieving to get finished. At the time I was a teenager in school and I’d sneakily turn on the tv and play at night. The spring behind the button would make that ping noise, so I had to carefully do it so my parents didn’t hear in the next room

While I hope you get the chance to play on some updated hardware some days, some of my best gaming experiences were back in the days playing a ps3 on a really old tiny 4:3 crt. Great game is still a great game.

(Somehow I got Big Boss emblem on MGS4 on that setup.)

Errentos

You can. Just wait, don’t buy anything for a couple months. You’ll have more money and you get to play the thing you want.

Star wars rebellion remake

Shaken, not stirred

I don’t think that is really the case. The lore suggests he’s pretty constrained in his office and his courtiers in Nilfgaard are always looking for any opportunity to usurp him. That’s the whole background of his invasions of the northern kingdoms and his motivation to find Ciri.

He might technically have the power to try and extract wealth from his demesne, but in reality he doesn’t have the legitimacy to get away with it.

Errentos

To be honest, all of these arguments highlight the limitation of debating the nature of statehood across a long historical period. Our modern sense of countries is rooted in the concept of nation-states as set out in the peace of westphalia and further developed through norms and international law over the next centuries to today.

You are all kind of right and kind of wrong at the same time because you’re all arguing through that lens.

Errentos

Some people get very close to making some profound intellectual connections and you almost did that here.

What you’re kind of getting close to is that identity and group identity especially are not natural properties people possess, but very complex ideas that are partially manufactured and partially organic.

People hold multiple identities at the same time, and none of them can be perfectly described or drawn put like a neat venn diagram. Some people in newcastle will feel they have more in common with someone in Edinburgh than they do with a Londoner like yourself.

Some people feel they have more in common with someone in another country but their same socio-economic class, religion, subculture, etc.

It’s perfectly reasonable for people to identify with Britain over England, or Manchester, etc. - what determines that really depends on who you are and what influences are around you.

Red faction 1. Being able to tunnel was so cool, especially on a ps2 era game.

Guerrilla really is cool though. One thing I remember was that the devs said they originally made the physics system too realistic and they weren’t able to keep their buildings standing on their own because they’re not structural engineers, so they had to dumb it down a bit.
