Yes, and then at the first holding point they accidentally go around the wrong way too.

Given what TfW inherited from Arriva and the absolutely dreadful contract that they had, TfW and the Welsh Government have done miracles.

Now, proper devolution of rail like Scotland and NI, and the HS2, HS3 and EWR monies we are owed, then you've got enough to practically rebuild the entier Welsh network, electrify it, buy new trains and live of the interest.

Yes, very good problems! :D

x86 is the name of the instruction set, ostensibly introduced with the 8086/8088 processors. There are a number of extensions etc.

AMD introduced 64 bit extensions to the 32bit versions of x86, this is called amd64, however Intel copied these because of the Itanium "failure" and so you see x86_64 as well, which is to all purposes Intel's way of writing amd64.

Other instructions sets commonly seen sparc4u, aarch64, ppc etc

As for the Itanium, which was Intel's attempt to take control of the 64bit market and design a new future processor...the tech magazine The Register calls it the "Itantic" after the famous ship to give you some idea of the scale of the failure.

10th birthday memories there.....well, if you don't want it, I could, maybe, possibly, be forced to accept it grudgingly....well ok then....

I think more left, or is that the clutch pedal?

Every-Progress-1117

Yes, because in Britain they fly on the wrong side of the road

If you go down the Avon==Afon route, then Adur, Dover etc, all derive from Dwr, Dwfr or Y Dwr meaning [the] Water. Cwm and Coombe as well.

Second time this week I've ended up writing about Welsh Toponymy in the UK.

Edit Kent comes from Caint, the Welsh is Sir Caint, and Caergaint is Canterbury, meanign Fort of Caint, with the name coming from a Celtic tribe in that area called the Cantiaci.

Wondering how many people know that many of England's placenames are Brithionic/Welsh in origin.

It was all Wales once!!

But, River Kitchen (Afon Cegin) ?? Could be a mistake or a deliberate naming.

Edit: looks to be a mistake. I found the "river", more of a ditch on various maps but without a name.

Would these be the same people who could afford a house, car, a few holidays per year on a single income? Some of these probably went to university with free tuition and no need for student loans too. And then mortgaged their house for a 2nd time to cash in on their assets have have a nice retirement....

Them you mean?

Can't have no internal lavatories...too woke...you'd have to build separate mens and women's lavatories.

Yes, they are all on my dedicated Tolkien bookshelf...which is now woefully inadequate and has spilled over to other bookshelves, and I'm fairly certain that some books are elsewhere around the house and been "stolen" by the kids too.

The first image brings back some memories; I found this and Leaf by Niggle in a bookshop in Tenby, Wales, probably early-mid 1980s. I can still remember finding them both, being able to afford them (!!) and then rushing back to where we were staying on holidays to read them. I must have read them both a dozen times during that holiday.

I was so different in many ways to Middle Earth, but the mythological themes were there. Probably my first foray into Tolkien's works outside of the Hobbit, LOTR and Silmarillion.

Where can we buy these t-shirts?

Every-Progress-1117

Phew...was getting worries that he hadn't turned up yet

After seeing the headline I was expecting some stereotypical ruddy faced white male complaining about how "woke" this is and the descending into a monologue about immigrants, trans and how schools were teaching boys to have periods while peeing in cat litter so some other bullshit.

Nice to see some positive news for a change.
