I guess since its a free model I didn't think it would be good but wow this is amazing, which is what I thought when it gave me a png. But when I asked it to generate an apk with the images, I got a buildable zip file with different icons. Do you use icons as a reference or get a ready-made pack?

Existing_Practice969

Free models are that good to generate hundred of icons that are that unique? I'll try when I get home

Existing_Practice969

Using plain white isn't fitting in my opinion. As for icon pack studio there are some choices but it doesn't support my system launcher which I don't want to change, so a icon-pack only would be better. I think the best fit so far is Mello Night, which is darker but matches the night aesthetic.

Existing_Practice969

I figured something like that but can't find the right one, free or paid.

The image got cropped so here is the link to wallpaper: https://wallpapercave.com/w/wp4325426

There is info on github repository

Existing_Practice969

There is the anonymous option on aurora store

Existing_Practice969

Just long click the backspace button for now I didn't think it was necessary as AC button occupies an extra spot but I'll add it

This is my first recommendation post on the subreddit. I just felt this strong desire to share this since it was so well put together and this wasn't the only hard moment up until now but this time I felt like I had to share so people don't miss out.

For maps you can use Vela maps

Existing_Practice969

No its not selfish you contribute to where you think its worth it

Existing_Practice969

Then create an issue on github. It actually got an update today and I see some things were fixed. Its a new project and I definitely like the visuals more then comaps.

Existing_Practice969

For maps you can also use Vela maps its really good, offers the same functionality as google maps without being google maps

Existing_Practice969

But it definitely deserves more it looks really promising

Existing_Practice969

I think it has decent recognition already since its closest to google maps, both in ui and data, with minimal anonymous data sends to google. I saw a couple posts about it just today.

Existing_Practice969

Sorry to disappoint you but that data isn't gone from their servers, just from your phone. Other then that I just wanted to say I use VelaMaps in case you might want a google maps like experience without tracking.

Since I did write c# for a long time (maybe not decades long but years long) and did have programming classes in high school, where we learned about different kinds of algorithms, concepts and code complexity, and I also watch programming content about c#, I have a strong foundation by now, and I also practiced around system design in the project (where my knowledge mostly stems from different non AI content all around the internet), trust me, I struggled a lot with structuring my code how I like and truly trying to find the right patterns and even with AI giving suggestions which do always come second to my opinion.

I use AI when things get repetitive or patterns in the project are so clear AI can just pick them up (for example the Settings Singleton pattern I completely came up with myself which is kind of right, maybe there's a better approach). The point is, foundation for the project is mine, the approach I took is mine and I don't think AI could recreate that so easily, nor could it replace my creativity. But I will keep your words in mind especially around code I'm not as familiar with.

Existing_Practice969

Using AI I know what's it like. So yeah you should always have some kind of knowledge or understanding about what's it suggesting. I think people falsely associate usage of AI with lack of knowledge (which you seemingly do) and that is probably because as what you've said, it doesn't really think it just generates (mostly known fact at this point) and using AI simply makes people assume I agree with that generated content. But on the contrary I understand what's going on in the codebase and do research if AI suggests something contradictory, which for me hasn't happened much I guess? And security is a completely different topic, for example, my app only opens the browser for links to repository in setting which I do in an external browser, about which I know is better then a webview where data can be collected (which I assume is limited but the point is I'm aware of such risks). The point is that I don't learn anything from AI before I try to understand, question it, dig through my current knowledge and so on. That is why I think I shouldn't put AI in the title as well because it gives the wrong idea to people, somebody might not even give my app a chance or look at source code just because of that AI in the title.

Existing_Practice969

I just checked the app out and there are some quirks in the UI my app arguably doesn't have. I can see it has a lot more functions and operations and I'm probably headed in a similar direction maybe not that much. Probably best if you installed my app and checked it out yourself.

Existing_Practice969

Why not? Getting a second opinion can't hurt even if its from AI. How do you know you covered all the cases in code? Do you think you need to write the code yourself to truly understand what its doing? Any idea might seem good now but what about the previous decisions you made, does it align well with where you are headed? Just because I hear an opinion doesn't mean I take it for granted nor does AI writing code mean I would never write something similar myself. Honestly, the main bad thing about AI is the more you rely on it the more you become dependent of it so I try to keep AI at bay. I would like to have this discussion if you are up to it since I don't heave industry experience I guess.
