upwork.com - some solid devs but generally hit or miss. if you're technical enough to vet people it can work , otherwise it's a gamble

fiverr.com - wouldn't bother for actual development work

talero.dev: this one surprised me. the dev was great and way cheaper than what i was used to. The founder was super involved the whole time as well. felt like having a part time cto for the price of a budget dev, never seen that anywhere else
