We live in an older neighborhood with not a lot of people our age, and people tend to keep to themselves. We go on walks and say hi to passerby’s but that’s about the extent!

Good idea!! Any good dog parks you can recommend? The only one I found I had to pay into which is a foreign concept to me...lol

I dated this guy for about 5 months. He was charming and sweet. He said he had just moved into town which was why he didn't have many friends other than family members. Well some red flags started popping up and he was starting to become over protective and extremely jealous. He also invited me on a float trip with him and his brother and when I went he told me that the float was to spread his mothers ashes because she had just died. (I had no idea she died and I had no idea this was the plan for the float) I ended things with him after this and then found out a week later (from his cousin who I ran into at a bar) that he had been in jail for 3 years previous to our relationship for domestic assault of his then-girlfriend and 2 year old daughter. All of this I had ZERO idea about. He lied our entire 5 month relationship. BULLET. DODGED.

It's OK to be busy and stressed. And it's OK to be a normal human being to your kids and have bad days. What's NOT ok is if a child is continually scared of a reaction you will have as a parent. Don't confuse being a human and having emotions with emotionally scarring your kids!! It's not the same!! :) :) YOU GOT THIS

I can see your point in that, but I wouldn't limit yourself if you want more than one just because of that reason. I would say if you are with the right person who supports you and can tell you when you can't see what you're doing, and you have a good head on your shoulders, you'll be just fine!!! Keep your head up!

I am legitimately terrified of having children because of how I was raised. I'm so scared that I will not have the patience that I need because I was never shown any true patience or forgiveness growing up. But I also realize that because I am consciously, everyday, fighting to be a better person, that I could have kids. The scariest thing about being a parent is that you have the ability to forever hurt or love a child. But it looks like you are doing your best to weigh out why you would act a certain way and that makes you way ahead of the curve! Just always remember that you are NOT your parents, and if you actively seek to always better yourself as a parent then your children will learn that amazing quality as well. Hope this helps!
