I’ve heard it’s common for us narcoleptics to crave sugar bc our body is craving energy. I started making sure to actually get lots of protein in the morning and it really helps with the sugar crash/craving more sugar to recover from the crash. Protein and fruit in the morning helps a lot. I’ve also heard the keto diet can be good for narcolepsy for this reason, but man it’s a strict diet

I think bc green and red are opposite colors, the green from the matcha and the red from the strawberry component would cancel each other out and make brown

Par for the course actually. Food not coming, or coming really late, coming cold. Not tasting very good and overpriced to boot. Staff being weird to customers. I know someone who went to see a movie there and didn’t order any of their ridiculous food, and the server chastised them for it and told them “this is really more of a restaurant first.” A group of friends and I bought tickets to see a movie there and when we showed up, the theater was closed. They flat out refused to give us a refund after we reached out about it. The person who paid did a chargeback on the credit card they used to purchase the ticket.

I really want to like this business bc it is my most local theater and I love the silly seats and quirky room themes. But they just keep sucking so badly at important stuff for a business if they want to be reputable at all

This is small potatoes compared to a generator, but someone stole one of my camping chairs sometime Saturday night. I’ve never had anything stolen at a music festival before! So lame

Uh yeah I bought these this spring and they already smell so bad. I do not have an issue with any of my other shoes smelling, even other sandals I wear without socks. Even other styles of doc martens sandals k wear without socks! The footbeds of these ones being suede is an insane choice. Apparently back in the 2000s these were known for smelling bad, and the new run is no different. Lmk if you find something that works I’m struggling

I nanny a little girl whose hair was getting an INSANE rats nest level tangle situation during the night while she slept and every morning was a serious struggle. Regular trims helped some, but her parents just ended up trying different conditioners until they’ve finally found one that works well. They have a couple from Amika that ended up doing g the trick for her, and now we don’t have a struggle every morning getting ready. If her hair means that much to her, I think it’s worth trying different products.

Anecdotally, my mom cut all my hair off when I was a kid bc it was too hard for her to manage, and it was really distressing for me. I felt I looked like a boy, and would cry, and when I look at childhood pictures of myself, I’m sad for little me who wanted to grow my hair long and feel feminine, because that’s just how I wanted to show up in the world. It sucked having that choice taken away from me. Trivial as it may seem to an outsider, I feel like self expression for kids is brushed aside a lot and is so important

This happened to me Wednesday night and my concert is today! I rested as much as I could, stayed insanely over hydrated, took vitamins, avoided cold medicines (they actually dry you out!), slept with a humidifier, and notified my choir. I am feeling pretty normal today and am going to sing in the concert tonight, maybe with a mask. Take care of yourself, you might make a quicker turnaround than you expect! I hope you feel better soon. If not, sometimes these things can’t be helped. Go easy on yourself.

Yes!! My current nf lets me eat any of their food, and encourages me to take nk out to lunch multiple times per week on their dime. Breakfast and lunch is covered by then five days a week. That saves me so much money! And the PTO situation is undefined/no limit. They always say yes if I request off, and I’m always paid just the same if I worked. And GH for when they vacation too. I haven’t asked about laundry but I bet they’d be chill with it. Perks like that (along with good hourly pay for my area) really go a long way in making me feel welcome and valued and make my quality of life so much better
