Honestly it was alright, the seafood roll was actually really good. Worth it for the experience but if you want incredible bun cha I would go elsewhere.

When did this happen? It is miles away from this reality now. Almost all of my engineering cohort is unemployed or employed in service work. Same goes for my friends. The way I got out of it was applying to 3 jobs a day, student projects and internships.

OP, if you do not push for a graduate job, you will not get one. Make the most of your time now.

I don’t watch that many horror films so maybe I am just not that versed, but this film gave me a pit in my stomach.

They taste like melted plastic I do not get it at all

Thoroughly pissed off that I went to uni in the period between brexit and Erasmus coming back. Glad to see they are bringing it back :)

FeralVagrant

They exist in the Netherlands

I go for dinner alone quite frequently, initially I felt nervous but now I view it very much as a treat :)

FeralVagrant

Sorry to hear you had a rough time :(. Side question though, did you write this post with ai? It seems very formal bar the one paragraph about Huddersfield that has language and grammar way more loose than the rest. Would be interested to know if I am right not to put you down but just as an observation

FeralVagrant

Out of interest, how did you end up in an undergraduate degree for 7 years?

FeralVagrant

I am on 42k as a grad. It is more than okay to live on if you live within your means. I am saving 500 a month into an isa and live in a two bed flat with my friend for 1000 each a month. I meal prep to avoid spending money on lunch at work but that is about the max lengths I go to. I am not one to buy a load of shit either but I could buy a few nice things if I wanted.

You will be fine mate honestly

In terms of the nationality, it is more that they have targets to hit in each year. Eg if it comes down to you versus another person from an underrepresented country they can use nationality as a deciding factor

See here for an example of the diffent representations in 2025 https://esamultimedia.esa.int/docs/careers/NationalityTargets.pdf

Hi mate, it does depend a lot on what you would like do within ESA. There are a lot of different roles that need to be filled and it’s not just engineering. The route you laid out makes sense, a level maths and physics are a must to get into a uni for engineering if that is what you want. Could even do an epq in something space related or look at competitions and opportunities (eg building a cansat). While at uni I would get involved in UKSEDS/ other societies to get involved with competitions. ESA runs student internships as well as training courses (free) for students. They also have the REXUS/BEXUS program and other programs that let students build and launch their payloads for research. After that young graduate trainee is an opportunity but it is also based on your nationality and how much of their quota they have met.

I would keep your options open, it is often easier to work for esa as a contractor with a different company. Or even at companies that have contracts with esa. I personally work for a new space company (interned at uni and am now full time) working on esa projects.

The fact you are even thinking this far ahead is great, I personally didn’t know what I wanted to do post grad until my 3rd year of uni lol.

Just keep doing what interests you and I’m sure it’ll work out :)

FeralVagrant

You mean you ‘finished’ the game and those modes have never come up? That seems a bit worrying

FeralVagrant

Lol fair enough, I forgot that some people just didn’t have tuition to worry about. Feels somewhat like we are talking about two different types of loan when one is 16k and I’m here with over 70 ¯_(ツ)_/¯

FeralVagrant

How did you end up with just 16k in student loan debt? Am I misunderstanding what you mean here?

FeralVagrant

Happy January!

FeralVagrant

Close friend is a recruiter, can confirm this is the case (if not longer than 90 days) and if they are fired the firm he works for is under agreement to replace the hire.

FeralVagrant

Last I went (a month ago) it was £17 for the same + one pint. Seemed like a pretty decent deal to me.

FeralVagrant

Of course he respawns in the next raid, why would the btr gunner scav be persistent between raids?

FeralVagrant

I am only level 9, only played a few hrs a night bc of work. I have found that most people I run into are still running similar kits to me eg shitty ak and lvl 4 armour. Sounds to me like ur very unlucky here lol

FeralVagrant

Is the argument not that people come here to work and then don’t keep the money in the uk/ act as a net drain (despite the fact there is data to show they add more to the economy than most of us here now). Supporting these people to become productive within the uk seems like a far better option.

FeralVagrant

I am not quite sure of the logic that we bring people into the country but then make them unstable for 20 years and thus unlikely to integrate or put down roots since they could just be deported whenever. How does it solve anything? It surely just leads to a lot of people entering the uk with no drive to do anything here.

FeralVagrant

Like the other guys said, not worth it as an international student based on price. I did engineering at qm. It was not the best but not the worst. There is opportunity to get involved in society projects etc. I left with 4 job offers. I would have loved to study somewhere better but money for an msc was so much more elsewhere.

FeralVagrant

I just rolled off an internship into a full time roll at a European new space company. When I was applying for an internship here I was initially declined for my role but they offered me another position base on my application.

In general I was told that it was my enthusiasm and passion that shined through that ended up selling them on hiring me. I was honest about my experience and straightforward in my wording. I spoke about what I had done in relation to the space industry in terms of student projects and how interested I was in the company. People like to be told the truth and it helps them to connect to you as a person. Genuine people can see when you are being genuine.

Best of luck mate :)
