I want to upgrade my GPU, and the choice would be to obviously go with AMD if they get the same price/performance as the 5700 XT... The issue now is DLSS, I don't know if going AMD will be worth it. I'll wait for AMD's release and benchmarks before making a decision though.

The time to upgrade is when your current setup can't handle the things you want to play at your desired settings, it's that simple.

Upgrading is pointless just because there's a new toy out there, do it based on your needs, not what other people want.

Don't upgrade now because a game will come out in X time. Wait for the game to come out, see if your PC runs it, if not, check benchmarks and buy something based on your needs.

Yes, you can always wait longer for a newer and better card, but if what you have isn't doing the job for you now, you're just wasting time not playing the games you want to play, there will always be something better coming out a year away.

It's always like that, unfortunately you're always 1 year away from a much better card for the same price, if you just sit and wait, you'll never upgrade.

Although I do think the time to upgrade is around the corner, seeing as we're also getting PS5 and new xbox, so I'm assuming games are gonna be way more demanding soon.

I'm not saying everyone who shares their positive experience is at fault here, it's just that many times they say the game is fine and it's other people's faults, when very obviously by the sheer number of people complaining about performance and crashes, the problems are definitely with the game and not people's PCs.

I'm not saying they're lying, but you not having problems doesn't invalidate the thousands who actually do have problems. I mean, good for you, the port still sucks for "everyone" else though.

Also, a 1070 getting an average ~60fps on a 2017 game is NOT a good thing unless you're playing at 1440p.

Sure, it matters. If the price difference wasn't super noticeable I'd go for the opposite brand, but if the price difference is ridiculous, ethics be damned, I don't have enough money to do the right thing.

The effects are way too strong, and you shouldn't crop the image that much, you always want to keep it at a 16:9 resolution (unless you're on ultrawide I guess).

Yup, God bless the FAR mod, Nier Automata is in my top 3 favorite games of all time and I wouldn't even have been able to play it without it.

Erm, Gold starts at 1390, your best elo is 1397, so you also got to Gold.

Also, the season started last week, there's Platinum players in low Gold right now because of the reset, in a month or 2 it'll be a lot easier to get 1400 elo.

Yes, but they're a necessary evil. I get it, it can be frustrating for top tier players, I've seen Sandstorm complain about it, and while I know games can't and absolutely shouldn't be balanced around low tier players, they also shouldn't be balanced around pro players, so fuck what Sandstorm wants.

I just can't stand how passive everyone is in this game, the only way I can beat out passive players is by either being passive as well, which I find excruciatingly boring, or by abusing weapon throws.

Now of course I could just git gud and learn to bait people's dodges and whatnot, but I just can't do that. I've been Diamond for 11 seasons now, and I still can't nor want to learn how to do that. It's just not my idea of fun.

Yes, weapon throws should absolutely be addressed, but not without having other massive changes to how the game is played first, I don't think weapon throws would be as big as an issue if people weren't just dashing back and forth waiting for the opponent to do something first.

The other guys were all very different from Boomie, though.

Excluding LDZ, the other guys kinda stepped away when they stopped placing as well as they used to and lost motivation, plus they had other stuff going on like university.

Boomie is still placing high, he's still winning 2s tournaments and getting top 5 consistently, the reason he's taking a break is because he doesn't like what's happening to the game.
