My experience is that the thin oil layer seasoning approach gives you a nice looking seasoning that gets destroyed on the first cook. For me, real non stick develops through cooking and an oil only layer is good for rust protection and not much else.
I cook stir fries and fatty fish for the first month or so and after that eggs don't stick.

What makes you think she's allowed. Plenty of people are entitled enough to do shit like this

Save up as much money as I can waiting for Bitcoin to be invented

Fuck the white supremacists. Letting them coopt coming non racist symbols as racist is letting them win. Giving them ground is a concession and we shouldn't give it to them.

It would be too small an area to make a difference. It's still fucking stupid

He wasn't insulting the cheesecake factory. It's fine for the cheesecake factory to look gaudy, that's its style. But it's not ok for the fucking white house to look like a cheesecake factory.
Like the Madonna inn is tacky as fuck on purpose. That's fine. But the white house is supposed to be the highest level of respect

Looking it up, it caps out at 32 points:

So if he was getting bullseye non stop it would take over 80 hours of non stop game play at point jump per second.
I suppose that's in the realm of possibility. Still, a pretty absurd thing to spend so much time on, but at least it's physically possible.
Edit: apparently there are lots of cheating apps to do the jumps for you. My money is that this is real in game but he ran a cheat program to get him to the start of the video and the nervousness is still real because you'd need to run the cheat programs for days before taking over and the rest is parody

Does the bonus ever cap out?

AI still inherently provide judgement, because judgement is pairing skill with emotion and AI does not have emotion, and if it did, it will already be sentient.
Even if AI ends up being able to do the mechanical work, you still need designs to provide expert judgement to give a specific intentful point of view is being presented.
Take animation for example. There are dozens of ways to present a character reacting to something, and no single way is right or wrong. It requires a nuanced eye and an opinionated creator to present a specific point of view.
Building that intuition means practicing those skills. Even an animation director still needs to have practiced the craft even if at the end of the day, not a single frame of the final work involves their actual hand in the final construction.
Tweening software and color correction software already eliminated entire sub industries as the rote mechanical parts of the job were automated away.
Now, hand animation has no real part in more ambitious works. Still, we should continue to do it for practice and personal enjoyment because it is important for training your mind and building intuition.
Am AI should not be able to compete with an expert critical eye with a vision. Hand created work may become more of a novelty, just how running is a sport even though we've had machines faster than humans for centuries now, but it will still be appreciated, and necessary to build up our own intuition which is needed to accomplish more ambitious works.

LLMs are trained through back propagation. That means they take the answer, measure it against what they the generate, determine the error, then propagate correction back to refine the weights. To do that, you need lots of content to train it to work in versatile situations. Once that training is done, the model weights are frozen.
Brains work fundamentally differently. They are constantly computing and updating and mutating at all times. This gives us the ability to deliver signals from nothing, allowing us to learn without having to already know the answer to something through employing a mental representation of the world that gets updated with experiences.

For $25k I expect a hand crafted artisanal door that takes months to make.

Yup, there's a big difference between liking it and liking it more than the hell of being unhoused. They need not just temporary help, but permanent opportunity and community.

Most businesses can't run on the promise of "maybe it won't fail". The central tenet of engineering is taking responsibility for your designs. If you don't understand what you are building, how can you take responsibility.

The way my team does this is with PR stacks by having PRs that branch off other PRs. GitHub has a native stack feature now, although their implementation kinda sucks
Fidodo
You’re supposed to be on a team and you’re supposed to respect each other. Forcing a ton of work on the reviewer is disrespectful of their time. Most of the time the author is not doing it on purpose and you need to pull them aside, go over the PR with them, and walk them through how it’s difficult and time consuming to review their PR. Not in an accusatory way, but just clearly communicating and demonstrating how it’s hard to review.
The vast majority of the time they will be sympathetic and apologetic and work to do better. If they don’t, then they honestly shouldn’t be on the team.

According to the article the police simply arrived, talked to people, and the situation was resolved with nobody getting arrested or kicked out of the park.
Basically, kid was not being a team player, parents were asked to take him out of the game were a refund, they get pissy, police are called, all parties talk it out, they go their own way with no further incident.
Is there really nothing more important going on? This isn’t a story and seems to be outrage baiting bullshit that’s purposefully being pushed as a distraction to divide people.
Fidodo
I don’t understand. Soccer is a team sport. You can’t just have a kid show up to a game they’re not on a team of and randomly play. The story still makes zero sense.

Opus 4 came out a little over a year. The industry is still adapting and I still don't see engineering properly defined and lots of management doesn't understand what it means and try to pressure developers into pushing out code they don't understand because they don't get that assurance comes from understanding.
I do not think the transition is close to complete nor the direction settled. I think we need to be clear about what the job is and communicate it better and provide better training and expectations.
The lackadaisical approach helps nobody. Management doesn't understand the importance of the methodological engineering process and engineers don't know what is expected of them. In my experience, both online and with in person peers, most people in this industry do not understand what the fundamentals of engineering are, and expectations are not established or communicated. It's unfair to everyone involved to not know the expectations.

I visited China around 1995 and it felt plenty modern. I'm sure it was different in rural remote places but cities and monuments felt pretty modern to me.
Fidodo
No it's not. I never had to watch an ad starting up my Sega Genesis. And they still make TVs without ads. It's not like you're guaranteed to see ads every time you turn on a TV.
Fidodo
I said majority, not all. If you're actually engineering then my words should not be offensive. I gave a very low bar definition and I stand by it. If you can't explain your code you are not an engineer. Is your position seriously that you can call yourself an engineer without understanding and standing behind your code?
Fidodo
Yes, but that's why you shouldn't donate to them, not because they auction off the more valuable items. Both your points are correct.
How many historic figures do you know? How many humans have existed? Do the math. Why waste your life chasing a legacy that is exceedingly unlikely to last more than a hundred years at the most? The only legacy you should care about is your living reputation with those you care about
