Yep, she goes in the vault only to be taken out if I’ve got like a God tier squad with me

Finall3ossGaming

Nobody is being fooled, ppl love these make a wish projects halfway around the world. They get to feel like a philanthropist while being broke.

I’ve said since day one that Keys being plentiful is what makes extraction games survive. The more keys being popped per raid the better imo. More loot enters the loot pool and ppl are less afraid to use good loot because they have a reliable path back to it

The Key Template while an improvement over the egregiously bad key system we had originally still incentivizes players to play extremely passively to get their template objective done, or you’re so looted and swimming in high tier gear you bring a key template because who really cares if you die with it?

Guys always check the karma on accounts with blatantly farmy posts

2yr old account with 100 karma? Yeah ok lol

My head canon was that Leapers were stripped down Lictors that removed all the cool shit to make a more agile and brutal ambush fighter that should still work in wave style attacks

Finall3ossGaming

Wouldn’t this require you to be pre-charging the vandal blast when the grenade gets tossed at your feet?

Frags don’t take that long to go off.. I don’t think you could make that split second decision and still pull it off it would be more of an “Oh shit well thankfully I’ve got this arm cannon half charged already, let’s get outta here”

You 100% got commendations for exfiling with a Rook

Finall3ossGaming

Commercial inertia is a bitch

Keeps you going way longer then you’d expect but the moment it starts going the wrong way you can pour millions if not billions of dollars into trying to stop the slide but it won’t make a difference. Maybe buy you 3-4 years of extra time but fundamentally the inevitable is coming

Finall3ossGaming

Honestly? My idea is that only sweats or ppl already succeeding a lot were getting any advantage from the system, it was very easy to take a Rook “hostage” for lack of a better term and essentially force them to stay with your group until you exfilled so you could benefit from the event.

The changes while uninspired are now geared more to helping ppl coming into the wipe later on to catch up both in gear and in Cradle progression.

Finall3ossGaming

Not anymore you used to

Finall3ossGaming

You’re not wrong Carrie was changed it used to incentivize runners to exfil together with trios potentially netting upwards of 5 extra merits per Rook/Runner they exfilled with that was not in their Crew

Rooks would get 10 for a successful exfil and then 5 per Runner/Rook as well so 25 commendations if you exfil with 1 full team or a gaggle of friendly Rooks

These guys are always a high priority for me even 20 of them and a little Wolfpack can do a lot of damage office striking on the same target

Especially with the rail, gun ballistic buffs, they can really do a lot of damage, but they are very vulnerable to advent bomber fire

Ogres

You may not like the fat greasy aesthetic but the big boys bring the pain. No one messes with the Ogres without regretting it eventually

Finall3ossGaming

On cryo that mod carried me, just gotta barrel stuff ppl

Finall3ossGaming

I mean clearly they didn’t change it for OP 🤣

If you’re playing a faction with lots of local recruitment then you shouldn’t be spending more then a turn to roll units back into each other and re-recruit new full strength versions of these units

Especially early game where your units will have little to no veterancy it makes no sense waiting multiple turns for 5 units to heal when you can make them 2 full strength units and recruit 3 fresh ones to replace them

Now this is only true with units you can easily replace but units you can’t will be your starting power units that you need to leverage properly in order to win your early fights handily

Finall3ossGaming

Crypt horrors are monstrous infantry. They should be used like rat ogres not as line holders or even flankers. You charge them in to an enemy formation that’s already held down in melee. You can charge them through your own troops due to their monstrous nature they will quickly path over your own troops and into the enemy lines.

Invocation of Nehek Overcasted is also your friend here, toss it on the chaff units getting shredded waiting for the Crypt Horrors to arrive then as the Horrors pass through them the spell will spread to them

Just because some units are faster than your front line does not mean they should be hitting the enemies first, if you send crypt horrors or even Ghouls into a unit of braced spears they won’t go very far but that’s not a knock on the unit that’s operator error

Ahhh I see from another comment you made my same mistake and started this game playing Skaven which is a faction that ignores tons of mechanics the game puts in front of your face like they are important

I’m talking mundane things like control and growth or corruption, Skaven ignore all of these things as they are irrelevant before the mighty Food Pile

Skaven only cares about food. Well gold and food but every building Skaven makes gives you gold so you’ll be swimming in that as long as you fill your build slots. Keep your food in the green and you’ll never have to worry about the other stuff up top. Hell rebellions at a certain point if they do happen are just a quick way to stock up on food

Also stop playing like the righteous races, ambush whenever possible and never fight into a major settlement without 2+ armies even if the 2nd army is garbage full of rat slaves. That slave army is a perfect meat stick to put in front of your Legendary Lord’s army early game to protect those good units you got at the start that you can’t replace yet.

If you’re still struggling then play the Dwarves they are the best beginner army imo due to their defensive fighting style, their economy is robust and tech simple. They don’t have cavalry but if you’re struggling already the last thing you need to do is worry about microing cavalry

Finall3ossGaming

Fights just feel more dynamic but you’re right if you’re on a free kit then just solo queue it’s so much less action and stress. Get your seasonal progression and then start doing trios even if you are a lone runner

I have 1 buddy who plays but we have opposite schedules so besides the 1 weekend or 2 a month we get off together I’m in much the same situation

Finall3ossGaming

What I found worthwhile on Spirit Hosts was more how big the unit itself was, 200 entities is no joke. Even a single Spirit Hosts and effectively flank 2 or more units if you can land them in the right spot

They aren’t line holders by any means but can serve in that role in a pinch to stiffen up zombies or other low tier lineholding chaff especially if you’ve got the Wightblades upgrade on them that reduces the Melee Attack of whatever they are hitting. Just mesh the unit blocks together and you’re good to go. Be aware this makes you super vulnerable to spells but if you’re doing this it’s a less then ideal situation anyways

Ideally I think you send 2 spirit hosts along with a cairn wraith and you basically get the performance of 3 cairn wraiths for a fraction of the cost and unit cap use

Look I get it, it’s fun dunking on ppl who thought (wrongly I guess) they had 3 or 4 mins to get clearance and figure out the map mechanics a bit. They did not have fun doing that 5 or 6 times in a row and losing the majority of their hard earned gear and left the game in droves.

Can we all at least agree that the current spawn rushing meta is stupid and actively hurt the game at a critical moment where Marathon needed to show it had serious endgame content?

Most hardcore extraction fans saw that nonsense and couldn’t for the life of them understand why you’d grind gear to get fucked in a map like that. The closest analog to Cryo of any extraction shooter map is either Factory in Tarkov or Stella Montis in Arc Raiders with me personally leaning closer to Stella. Neither of those maps are billed as end game, they are maps designed to go lose loot in or maybe get lucky and toss up a shitload of kills but nobody loads into those maps expecting to come out alive

Cryo is very much a narrative driven location and being locked out of all that narrative story telling did irreparable damage to the game’s popularity long term as well. Vaultbreaker has helped alleviate that to some degree but it’s a bandaid solution at best with all the sweats complaining even about that small compromise

Finall3ossGaming

So the only solution to spawn rushing is become the spawn rusher? Maybe I think this hyper-aggressive early game is bug in the map that needs to be addressed versus just becoming a spawn rusher by playing with other sweats on the Discord?

I introduced 4 ppl to this game and only 1 stuck with it, he’s actually more into the game then me but everyone else barely even made it to Level 20 which was Cryo and then they did the first 2 weekends of Cryo…

Let’s just say none of them came back, the map is miserable to learn when it’s such a kill house maybe a fraction of a fraction will get there but is it enough to keep the game alive? I doubt it

Finall3ossGaming

That’s still a better position for me as a team still in my spawn room, whoever rushed control is the one getting fucked

Finall3ossGaming

This is entirely based on the premise that your way is better because it’s more fun for you, the map clearly flopped considering where the game is playerbase wise

This was the premium end game content so you think ppl enjoy being spawnrushed as a mechanic? Even if you’re right that’s what you’re saying.
