Those of you who play, at any level, have you ever tried reffing a game? (self.rugbyunion)

I always thought the idea that smaller plates make you eat less was a bit stupid, but I spent a month in an Airbnb for work which had tiny plates and I’m pretty sure it’s one of the main reasons I ate less. I don’t have much weight to lose but it’s always nice to be a bit leaner. So I’ve started using smaller plates, and sure sometimes I have multiple plates, but in general it’s actually made a difference!

For general weight loss, I dont worry too much about what I eat, just try to keep calories in control. I can have pizza and ice cream some days but only if that’s basically all I eat and I make up for it with more veg based meals for the rest of the week. I also make my own sauerkraut and kimchi and eat a big helping with most meals.

Also, I’m a pasta fiend, and I’ve subbed half my pasta for half a can of white beans (e.g. haricot) which is a good protein and fiber booster and goes well with pasta for fewer calories.

We didn’t forget, we’re the descendants of those Norwegian boys that sailed over here.

Jesus it feels weird to be inspired by a Scottish Labour politician for the first time in over twenty years. I’d love a journo to ask Anas what he’s done to challenge Westminster since the election and watch him sit in silence in response.

Meer mention of Edinburgh draws out weegies with chips on their shoulder. What’s someone enjoying another town got to do with you?

When do they announce the refereeing teams? Is Hollie Davidson gonna get a game in charge this tournament?

What’s wrong with scotland’s scrum today? It’s a liability

Fitzurse

Yeah feels like they’re slightly less than the sum of their parts right now

Think you might be having a stroke pal

Really love the French kit with the navy collar, the white collar is classic but this looks so nice with the darker blue .

Pretty much all the work of James Stokoe - as acknowledged by Abbadon.

Especially Orc Stain (started in 2010 but is still unfinished - Stokoe keeps threatening to complete it but hasn't got around to it!)

The setting could be dropped right into K6BD and you might not even notice - there are some absolutely epic panels! Can't find the wildest ones, but here are some examples of Orc Stain: here and here.

Third, what I hated the most by far, is knowing something illegal must’ve happened but haven’t really seen it happen so it’s tricky to penalize.

Yeah, nailed it with this, there were a bunch of times I needed the ability to clone myself to get the full picture of what happened. Alas, there is but one of me. The spot decisions are really difficult. I read somewhere the average ref makes 600 decisions a game, and if I, in my wisdom, managed 95% right calls then I'd still have 30 bad calls in match. Of course, I did not get 95% right. I prioritised the flow of the match and when I prevaricated it gave the fat late-30-somethings a chance to suck air into creaky lungs, so not too many complaints. Stressful AF though!

Yeah you need proper guttering. Honestly does the walkway need to be covered? I’d take it down and start from scratch tbh, have it lean the other way into a gutter, with proper flashing on the house side. Anything else is going to be a massive bodge.

I think there's one somewhere in here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlP9FGcYyjQ

[edit] - Aye, Auld Donk Syne is at 50:30 in the above, should be easy enough to rip just that one out!

So they claim to visit 5000 addresses a day and the letter says they work weekends, that’s 1.8 million households a year. There are 2.5 million households in Scotland. At this rate they’ll visit every home in Scotland in 18 months. Even if it includes non-residential properties they’ll visit every building in Scotland in a few years.

Sounds like total bullshit.

How many folk do they have doing this? Consider not all the addresses will be in a row and you’ll have to drive between them, I think I’d be surprised if one employee could visit more than about 30 properties in a day. That’s 166 licence fuds doing the rounds a day, when you take into account weekend shifts and holiday cover that’s 200 folk, assuming they work alone and not in pairs that’s 200 salaries plus NIC etc and management and admin and 200 vehicles. That’s about £5 mil in salary + NIC alone. Do you think they’re bringing that much back in additional licence fees every year? Or maybe they’re lying.

Feels like so much of our industry and infrastructure seems to be owned by states or state-owned entities like this! Why don’t we have such a strong state-owned industry?

BBC Reporting Scotland sent a correspondent to go stand outside the crown office in the drizzle to report on the fact that the BBC asked NS if she’d heard anything, and seem to think it’s really important news.

Bright blue armour is camouflage in the right environment. I imagine most fighting doesn’t happen on temperate earth-like planets!

Don’t make the mistake I did and leave it on the bunker next to your protein powder.

I really don’t get it, I’m not religious but if I were I’d see Sunday opening hours as a symptom not the cause of people abandoning my religion. I’d be out there promoting my religion elsewise in positive ways to attract people to it rather than getting mad at a shop opening that most people want.

The message here is you’re a bad person if you shop on a Sunday and if you join out religion you too can get mad at people and hold signs outside a Tesco - what a delight!

Once you’ve utterly scuppered team morale it’s really difficult to reignite. Gatland is a good coach but morale has tanked under his watch. Even if he still had Edwards, there’s no coming back from this, a change of leadership is required before morale can improve. The press can say that with Gatland’s departure he’s taking the bad juju with him and the team might believe they can play good rugby again.

Unless Wales pull off a miracle vs South Africa it’ll be 12 losses on the bounce and the first calendar year without a win in almost a century, heading in to a Six Nations that could plausibly extend the loosing streak to 17 matches.

Between this and the NZ game, it really feels like if England can just crack their adaptability problem they'll become a real force. It feels like for years now that England have had a (generally actually pretty amazing) plan but they've stuck with it for just a little too long when it doesn't work - or when their opponents adapt their style and England don't respond in like.

The pendulum doesn't need to swing all the way, having a plan and executing it well and being patient is great, they only need a small nudge to react to tactics slightly soon imho.
