You stand to lose your money for something you didn't want in the first place. Why do you think so many gachas implement a "pity" system if not for the mental toll on the gambler? It's all arbitrary predatation to make you want to reconsider between spending your time or money.

The same way when I buy a second-hand laptop pc, and it comes pre-installed with Windows. /s

I skimmed through the article and tried to figure out all the games Frank had played that got released in last decade but there was none relevant titles mentioned. Just Dune 2 and the usual suspects that are classified as retro.
I don't know what you're talking about, Frank. Yes, real time strategy isn't a popular genre like in the 90s anymore, newsflash everyone! But it's not a developer issue when you turn your gaze away from AAA-budgets. It's a consumer issue. You played Dune: Spice Wars? Shattered Sun demo? Tempest Rising? Frostpunk? Xol-faction in Zerospace? Helloooo?! Welcome to the 2020s anytime you're ready, sir.

You should have said Micro LED. Because they exist, just not in average mortal realm.
Pros: Contrast, luminosity, colors. Cons: Extreme cost and panel size.

Forgiven12

The Xol is out there!

"I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way."

GoG is fine too. Even if most people would agree the store platform doesn't matter I'm compelled to support DRM-free policy regardless. Hell, I'd pay extra.

Forgiven12

If you want to keep it that way, better start reproducing and dodge Idiocracy becoming reality.

If you can understand English, the dub is definitely worth it over original voices.

Pieni rauhattomuus on aina kuulunut nuorison ilmapiiriin.

Forgiven12

Don't forget "friendly". It's an interesting distinction coming from Zerg.

Forgiven12

As long as it's not monotonous, repetitive micro, it's quite alright in general sense. Bonus points if I can adjust game speed accordingly. It's not ok to add micromanaging as a punishment if it's not fun.

Forgiven12

For competitive I would pick whatever the actual pros use, while considering my budget. There's nothing more to it.

Forgiven12

This is me. First download Trials Gold normally via Steam library, then apply a "crack" to bypass all the ubi-nonsense. A paying customer shouldn't have to jump through those hoops!

Forgiven12

I disagree but we mean two different kinds of micro. Yes, I dislike apm-spam actions like the stutter stepping you referred to. It does not represent player skill after nth time of doing the same thing routinely.
What I like is Men of War2 style micro, that all hangs on timing, commitment, and attention, instead of apm. Eg. in infantry vs. infantry you can control squads in different formations, loose or dense groups. Manually throw a grenade, reload a weapon, order soldiers take cover or go prone, break a formation apart... Even manually take aim since in that game engine every shot is a missable skill shot. Because of game speed in multiplayer, nobody can execute perfect micro, therefore pre-positioning and microing triage becomes the expression of player skill.

I'm constantly reminded that indiscriminate murdering in video games is more acceptable in public than fictional erotica.

Forgiven12

That's because 4x10 doesn't mean same weekdays necessarily.

Forgiven12

16:9 or ultra wide format? See, all the definitions are arbitrary.

If you're looking for real strategy in your RTS, then OpenFront comes to mind.
Thematically, it's very very far from mainstream, premium games. It's barely got graphics to mention about, and progressing battles are displayed as a moving frontline between warring nations. Buildings and ships are displayed as small icons. But it's got diplomacy, alliances, backstabbing, vassals of sorts, economy building and pivotal decisions instead of a clickfest brainless action.
There's a short tutorial video if you're curious still: https://youtu.be/7J5zwb_s_Cg?si=0Pv-khpwQL-mNy9u

Attractive, consistent style beats fidelity. Concord was a decent shooter game if you review only gameplay mechanics.

Luxury displays are packed with features, but normal consumer oriented products require trade-offs between professional and gaming "specialization", to keep costs down. One example is a USB-C port with power delivery. The main benefit of that is clean cable management. For anyone using a laptop for work, it reduces a messy desk setup down to plugging in one single cable.

Gamers wouldn't use it, PS5 goes into an HDMI port.
