Glad that your insurance corrected the mistake! Definitely a common thing that some people end up paying blindly. I've used Bearabill.com in the past to check my bills for errors/overcharges, it's a free upload and they get back to you after about ~24 hours.

Let me know how it goes!

There's a few tools out there that can help you sort through CPT codes and identify errors - I posted about bearabill.com in another thread but that was the one I had the most success using. Super simple upload process and they get back to you pretty quickly.

DoritosDrewItRight - you're a popular/experienced one, every had any luck negotiating lower bills for yourself?

Copying this from the thread above: I've seen so much of this lately. There's a few solutions out there you can try, Bearabill.com was a free one I went with, just upload your bill and it can identify overcharges based on the negotiated rates or something, it was a pretty simple process in my experience. No guarantees but worth a shot...

Have you already started paying? If not, I'd try one that I've suggested before - Bearabill.com - they have a free "error checker", it was a pretty simple process in my experience.

Check out bearabill.com, they can check for missed insurance coverage or overchareges for free, it was a pretty simple upload process in my experience.

Yooo, I've seen so much of this lately. There's a few solutions out there you can try, Bearabill.com was a free one I went with, just upload your bill and it can identify overcharges based on the negotiated rates of insurance/hospital I'd assume.

I got 12 stitches in my left ear last month (hockey puck), my bill was pretty similar, $988ish (~2 hours in the ER) so I started looking into a few lower-my-bill solutions (TruBill, Repaytient, etc.) but the most luck I had was with one called Bearabill.com. It was a quick upload and they got back to me with an error report in about 24 hours...don't pay it yet! Worth a shot!

That's insane....Check out Bearabill.com - I posted about them in another thread but that was the one I had the most success using. Super simple upload process and they get back to you pretty quickly. I think they check for overcharges or highlight errors in your bills (80% of these bills have errors apparently).

This looks brutal. How recently did you receive this bill? Sometimes it can just take another week or so for an adjusted bill to come in that accounts for insurance. Otherwise I've looked into a few medical bill lowering services, Bearabill.com was the simplest to get started with. I just had to upload a bill and they gave me an error/overcharges report after about 24 hours.
