What the distro is trying to do really matters. I like to go by this chart to find a distro:

- Gaming: Try out Debian 13, its very stable

- 3d rendering and animation: Debian 13 works well for this

- Programming: Debian 13 might work pretty well

- Art: Debian 13

- Anything else: Debian 13

finally spotting another i5-9400F user yipeee

forgot justin beiber linux

Who needs the french language anyway

yes i daily drive debian 13 its great

Debian - its a good multi-purpose, stable (at least in my experience), and pretty lightweight

Also runs a couple games pretty well, through steam and proton

nice code - actually writing this on rpi 500 that im using basically just for bash scripts

Should be enough. However, I have noticed that you might run out of storage, 32tb is a little skimpy as per modern standards

And you might want a little more ram and a newer GPU, the 6000 Blackwell is a bit out of date by now

Agree, I started with mint, then Ubuntu

Linux can be a very fun operating system (writing this on Debian 13 now), but it does have a steep learning curve. I suggest starting with a more user-friendly OS like Linux Mint or Ubuntu and watching a couple 'introduction to linux' youtube videos, and learning a couple basic bash commands.
