Legally, under the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 (in the US) they have to be an enrolled member of a federally or state recognized tribe in order to sell Native art (or they can be certified by such a tribe, that’s fine too). Different tribes have their own criteria for enrolment. Some use a certain blood quantum cutoff, others have other systems, like clan membership, or lineal descent from a census roll.

I don’t understand why some neighbourhoods are flooded like that, while I live right beside an elementary school and yet have never gotten a single trick or treater

Lii is plural, it comes from French ‘les’, so it would more likely just stay as L’.

I don’t think people need to be SASS witches to post! I think they should just show some indication that they know who we are, that they took 30 seconds to look through the previous posts or the about/information section before they posted, and that they’re trying to make a post that’s relevant to this group.

It’s no different than if you had a subreddit for leopard gecko care and people kept coming on asking about how to take care of their pet leopards. Eventually you’d start to get frustrated that people aren’t looking at what subreddit they’re in before they post.

I would personally phrase the question like this. “Hey! SASS witch here. I am interested in the cultural correspondences associated with different types of crystals because I want to use them in a ritual for focussing my intentions and channeling my creativity, and I find I like using gems that are a part of some system/tradition rather than making up my own associations. What traditional associations are you familiar with with different types of gemstones? I am open to any line of cultural associations with gemstones and what are considered their association/symbolism in that tradition.

Nowadays a lot of people don’t take their honeymoon immediately after the wedding. You don’t have to, if it would contribute to inconvenience or stress. We’re taking ours months later.

I love the assorted/mixed colours you have there!!

From what my partner who is a teacher has experienced, in his school system, to get expelled, I think a kid would probably have to commit an actual murder. Repeated physical fights inside the classroom in front of the whole class is not enough.

Freshiiiiii

Okay, if you’re a vegan and see all meat-eaters as murderers, and least that’s more consistent and un-hypocritical than condemning only the hunters.

Freshiiiiii

Do you also hate people who buy meat at the store? I think it’s hypocritical to condemn hunting but not animal agriculture- I would argue modern industrial factory farming is ethically the far worse of the two. If you’re vegan and condemn both equally then I respect that, at least that’s consistent.

Freshiiiiii

I would much rather eat an animal that had a chance to live a wild life than an animal who was born and died in an industrial factory farm and never saw the sun.

Canada is a metric country, but we don’t use much metric for cooking. For cooking it’s still teaspoons, cups, etc.

Freshiiiiii

I used to do stuff like this, but learner that a ton of call centre scams are operated by human trafficking victims who are there involuntarily and unable to leave really took the fun out of it. Now I just hang up.

I got mine for $500 on the clearance rack at an ordinary wedding dress store

Freshiiiiii

I don’t really understand. Did you get married after the race? What was the motivation to do it on your wedding day specifically?

Freshiiiiii

What is the difference in your mind between ‘exclusive’ and ‘not sleeping with others’? Seems to me that this unnecessary unclarity contributed to this situation. If you want to be exclusive, say that, say you are in a relationship.

The typical explanation is that they’re defensive. Plants produce all these secondary metabolites like opiates and other drugs to prevent herbivores (from as big as an elk to as small as an aphid) as well as pathogenic microbes from taking a munch of that tasty poppy. Opiate reward systems are pretty basal in development (in essentially all vertebrates) and so opiates are capable of having an effect on many kinds of critter.

The toys in a Kinder Surprise (at least in Canada) are inside an inch-long round plastic canister inside the hollow chocolate egg. It would be almost impossible to swallow even on purpose, let alone accidentally.

They’re just saying that Black should be capitalized. It’s a thing in some spaces.

Freshiiiiii

Okay but you see that that still sounds just as bad, right? When white people are (I just looked it up) 7.3 percent of the total population?

This is what I had been wondering- whether you’re asking questions that are too specific.

Freshiiiiii

No

I think it’s okay, I guess, like it’s not a crime- but I also don’t fault your wife for not wanting to go out in public with that guy.

Freshiiiiii

Seriously. 4 or 5 mg would have been an appropriate amount, not 30.
