I suppose it's a reference to the vsauce (?) video where he noticed a lot of people said an infinite stack of 20 dollar bills was worth more than an intinite stack of 1 dollar bills because the first "grows faster"

that's almost always been what both sides of every war in the past century say, because otherwise they look like the bad guys and get bad reputation

you're gonna hear that in a country aligned with Israel and the exact opposite in a country aligned with Iran

I know this may seem obvious for most people, but if anyone wants a real explanation: the easy way to solve most simple probability problems is to split it up into equally likely cases and then prove they are all equally likely (generally by some kind of symmetry in the problem or through really simple logic), but it is perfectly possible for you to split it up any way you like (e.g. either you win or you lose), except you'll have to deal with having chosen events that are not equally likely.

The logic error in this post is assuming that, by spliting the sample space (set of all possiple outcomes) into two mutually exclusive events (subsets of the sample space; in this case, the set of outcomes in which it happens and the set of outcomes in which it doesn't happen), the probability of both events must be equal (and therefore equal to 50% each)
