I probably could have worded things better, but I did intend to tie those problems together.

I would say that my main gripe is fact that non-combat heli roles are getting caught in the blast zone of these haphazard bandaid solutions to combat helis, and they will likely continue to as the devs seem to have no plan and are quite literally throwing shit at the heli windshield to see what sticks.

The Ural does not receive the tank's nerfs, nor does the Kodiak. Why is an unarmed littlebird receiving the nerfs of an armed littlebird. Why does the logistics heli, which is an entirely different model, also receive the dirty windshield nerf? You know?

The entire role of piloting is suffering because rocket helis are a menace. I do not actually want any helicopters removed from the game, but I do feel like the current team does not know how to approach the problem.. So, if the whole role is going to suffer from a problem that only comes from combat helis, I would rather the devs take extreme measures against combat helis.. rather than force the nerfs upon every heli in the game. I am not going 81/3 with a rocket heli. I am dropping a crate at Tower 1. Why is my windshield covered in garbage? It's silly

I would almost be okay with it if the adjustments were in the patch notes, but stealth nerfs just make it seem like they're trying to quietly gut the LB without having to acknowledge feedback. Infantry can go check the exact damage of every weapon in the game vs every armor, but helis can only learn about handling nerfs by falling out of the sky

The servers have been tweaking a ton this week. I had multiple experiences where I lost my heli because the server lagged for 0.5 seconds and I was upsidedown plummeting towards the trees when the game caught back up, but I do think the other issues are separate from that.

I've also had a good handful of unexpected crashes where I had 200% confidence I'd be able to pull out, and ended up unable to recover because the heli wouldn't pull up. When I was getting really good towards the end of S1 I could tell I would be crashing the instant I made a mistake in my controls.. but this season I've had several crashes where I am genuinely astonished because I was making what I felt were trivial maneuvers that just.. didn't happen because the heli does not respond the way it used to.

GeneralRectum

It really was. I enjoyed flying in first person just for the immersion, but now it looks like shit and I can't even buy a rag to wipe it off. Made it to level 38 last season, and I'm at 24 for season 2, but it is genuinely a worse experience. I also find that people are more disgruntled this season and get angry with your piloting before you even land to pick them up. So you get accosted by your passengers, have a dull, ugly flight to CZ and then now with the stealth nerfs to handling the ride back is less enjoyable too. If I didn't also enjoy building I probably would have quit already

I also went and checked my settings, thinking they might have been reverted with the new season update. Honestly if I didn't know how to do certain tricks, I would be less confident. But for example, there's a barrel roll you can do by just slamming S and D with no additional input, and the fact that I can't do that one at the same heights tells me they changed something.. since keyboard and mouse controls are just on/off buttons, that roll should be the same every time.. and it was, in season 1.

GeneralRectum

Yeah I suppose they did mostly kill the MG heli with the ammo nerfs. I do notice people addressing the havocs more now in this season as well. The rocket heli is definitely getting the politing experience gutted for everyone though.

What makes the ground vehicles piss poor? Aside from the insane driving physics I suppose

GeneralRectum

They should make it a 50/50 chance to ragdoll if you fire it while standing up

GeneralRectum

Well, if you go by the shit-caked helicopter windscreens they added.. "ugly and annoying" are perfectly on brand for the dev team's balance style

GeneralRectum

Their balancing ideas are crazy. They're like.. super reactionary, heavy handed, and it almost feels like they're balancing around social media highlight reels and comment threads and not just average gameplay

GeneralRectum

Days? Lol, I don't think it lasted 12 hours

GeneralRectum

I think they should just.. not be attempting big sweeping changes and "social experiments" that they can't keep track of if they're such a small, overloaded team

GeneralRectum

I suppose you'll want to try not doing that on your next account!

GeneralRectum

You are welcome to believe what you want, but some of my most profitable matches have been ones where I just dedicate the round to shooting helis down. You can't run MAAWs the whole game obviously since they are not a proper area denial tool, but you come locked and loaded until your fob gets AA up, then you just transfer to those and you can make at least 80-100k in a match.

GeneralRectum

I had an Ural driver one game who was absolutely losing their mind crashing into every heli in spawn. He was yelling about how pilots think they're superior just because they can fly. We had to beg the whole lobby to report him, it was s crazy. He was genuinely raging into his mic to such an extent that if he were in public, I imagine someone might call the police

GeneralRectum

The only thing you can really do is lift all your fingers off of the keyboard and hope you don't find yourself upsidedown when the lag stops

GeneralRectum

Pilots scare easily! You can take the newer ones out just by locking onto them for a few seconds. They'll panic and try to dip below the trees and just crash

GeneralRectum

I would absolutely love to see an unskippable Flight tutorial that simply makes the player take off in a helicopter, fly to the CZ, and land in a designated area. I'd bet money that there would be people who can't complete the tutorial and quit. The hotzone-rush cod bros would vanish overnight. I find they often rage at pilots and take Kodiaks to the CZ (rather than flying their own heli) when they aren't performing very well.

That being said I also wouldn't care if they removed attack helis from the game, I just think some players have reached levels of genuine derangement/psychosis when it comes to helis, and making them try to fly one would be funny.

GeneralRectum

Tbh when I'm not piloting, I'm playing AA because it's free money

GeneralRectum

Do they mention mortar cams at all?

GeneralRectum

Fobs literally close out games

GeneralRectum

Dazzling the enemy is an actual, viable LB taxi strat. People will look at you and lose track of the people you dropped. Sometimes enemies will shoot at you and reveal their position to your team. You can body block for your passengers. If you catch someone out of place on a rooftop you can even get some kills

GeneralRectum

Yes dude. I have yet to play a truly satisfying magic power fantasy game. Looks great

GeneralRectum

Note how my post didn't mention using attack helis once, and this person is literally incapable of thinking about anything else, talking about season one in the season two feedback thread.. while being completely okay with arbitrarily gutting the support role, because "ummm, pilots.. are bad!" Players have actually been mind broken by helicopters. Truly deranged

GeneralRectum

Anti-pilot sentiment has reached levels of pure derangement this season. You can spend a whole game flying flawless taxi heli and people will still rage at you and call you slurs simply for opting to be a pilot. The devs and all non-pilot players hate attack helis, but won't remove them. So taxi heli eats all of the nerfs, gets all of the same hate, gets the same shit caked windscreen.. and despite being the only fun heli to fly, becomes useless after 3 trips to CZ when the APC spawns and no one flies anymore.

Your own Ural/kodiak drivers will straight up grief you in HQ because and I quote, "fuck helis", and no other reason. There is 0 repercussion for doing this.

You get obliterated by infantry now, you get obliterated by CIWS from across the map. The only profitable heli that you can play for the whole game flies like you're piloting a cruise liner through the air and is IMO, as someone who loves flying the LB, a more dull playing experience than sitting on a AA in a FOB, half-afk, collecting 100k in a game while you watch Netflix.

GeneralRectum

Yeah, it's pretty dull. My most reliable money making method is just farting around in a fob with a show on my second monitor. I usually get over 100k in a round, so I do it once or twice.. then go have fun losing all my money on attack helis and repeat.
