I've opened the thing up probably a dozen times at this point to swap buttons, add magnetic buttons, dpads, remove shoulders for flat back, swap between back plates a ton, it's not an issue if you have a decent set of tools. They've also changed the screwdriver that's included with buttons sets and it's adequate.

The hardest part is probably getting the pick between front/back plates to split them apart.

It's tempting to get but hard to justify as I've still got original hardware. Wanting to play something on Pokedaisy would need to lure me.

How does it look with the screen folded down?

The new dpad feels a lot better, I received mine and did the swap last week. You also don't need to fully remove the board to swap any buttons. I think in total it's something like... 15 screws and 2 ribbon cables, you can leave the daughterboard connected and just slide the new dpad in.

Do you get any video or audio stutter?

I tried this on the Nova 12gb yesterday and couldnt get it to run smooth or without audio stutter.

3ds version English patch hopefully out soon.

I'm not entirely sure, I used it a few times when I was lost any annoyed by random battles, have it set to 2x. Not a fan of using it since you either have to deal with distorted audio or turn the audio off.

I think I reached Dharma around 22.5 hours, I stumble a lot finding progression triggers. Some of the time was probably afk as well. There's also been a few fragments that ate some time before I found them.

Playing on an emulation device certainly has it's benefits. Save states, fast forward(granted with no audio), cheats if you want.

I have a BVM set up with modded PS1 but don't really have time to sit in my office if I'm not working. Young kids make it hard to play games without the option to save at will.

I wish we could have the PSX version with the Reimagined visuals.

While I love how Reimagined looks, there's a bunch of gameplay stuff I wasn't a fan of. Had a hard time deciding between the PSX and 3DS versions.

It's just in the sense of playing on player expectation lol. I think I first arrived in Dharma around 22 hours. Start getting excited at all the NPCs talking about class changing finally, it's some positive news after losing a party member. Once you finally get to the altar they do a small rug pull and then you've got a few hours of figuring stuff out while short a party member. They just really make you work for it lol.

Friends parents rented an n64 with Mario 64, Stanford 64 and Mario Kart 64 over easter weekend the year it released. I stayed over and we didn't leave the basement all weekend. Mostly played Mario Kart 64.

I really wish he had a consistent release schedule but I get why he doesn't. His DQXI review sold me on the game.

I guess I just don't see how that would benefit them. The only time I could ever see them giving rough numbers is if they wanted to permanently drop a SKU and give community reasoning. Even then I'd imagine they'd just drop it without giving a reason.

Vertical handhelds with sticks seem really uncomfortable to use.

Why would they post data publicly that competitors could use, why would they owe you that information?

The Saturn Japanese library is absurd compared to the US/EU one.

I've printed that thing 4 times in 4 different materials(one was so rough I chucked it). The stl could use some adjustment, you end up with shoulder buttons that are really loose. Also tried a metal version which flat out doesn't fit since it's original design is a tiny bit too big and metal doesn't bend like plastic. Even the 2 that do fit aren't flush at the top with the curve.

Could use the Steam Deck for that. I still have a 360 set up in my office and use it on both my BVM(4:3) and PC monitor depending on the games.

It's cool that you got rid of the rattle, the other stl that's available online is very loose for L/R1.

In the 7th gen letterboxing on a screen this small can make text a bit hard to read.

For anything that's only 16:9 I'd just play it on another device. I'd mostly just want the device for stuff like EDF 2017, Viva Pinata etc.

Those aren't 4:3 though, there are specific 360 games I'd like to play in 4:3 on something like the Nova.
