I'm a fan of A Shared Universe studio, owned by Ming Chen of Comic Book Men and a frequent guest on the TellEmSteveDave/SmodCo network. His tech and knowledge is second to none and he's been in business for at least 10+ years.

Yeah, I wonder if these were still kind of attached, and when the workman pulled them off, he needed to knock them off and some escaped.

I understand why you're being downvoted, but you're right. Just be matter of fact about it. I used to keep clippers on my coffee table and anytime I felt a nail when my cats would knead, I'd grab the clippers, trim all their nails, even just a little(frequent nail clipping encourages the quick to recede), and then we'd go right back to cuddling. No fawning over them or making a big deal about it.

So according to the dentist, it was the corn rows and extension cords on the lawn that caused the fines. He also has a OPRA going to find out who keeps reporting him.

Before Howell switched over to the state police frequency, I was listening to the scanner one day and someone called in a report of some lady stealing Trump signs. They got her license plate and had a officer waiting for her when she pulled into her driveway.

For some reason, they used an AI photo. Lots of giveaways, like the tie bar on her tie not connecting to anything, a swirl of metal near the badge, the collar insignia being warped, etc.....

Depends on the shift. I used to get off work at 1pm, so going to the bar for a few beers after work would have me drinking by 2pm.

AI photo. Tons of giveaways.

Congrats!
But just keep in mind that Zippo replaces nearly every insert sent in.
So enjoy the quality inside for the knock off outside

The reason I steal is because you have such nice stuff!

As someone who worked at a place that had pigeons, seagulls, and birds of prey, nothing quite ruins a day for some people than seeing a bird ripped apart alive by another bird and bleeding all over the place.

What location owns all the towels in that load. So if like 20% of the towels in a load belong to location X, then the rest do.

So to hell with local businesses and people, right, because it's a "real shame".
GitEmSteveDave
Oh no, you said "Yandex". That sounds foreign, so it must be scary. Surely must be worse than the info 99% of people give up to a company like Amazon or Google by simply browsing.
GitEmSteveDave
OK, so what ARE they using them for? You sound like the people who are like "Digital price tags are being used for surge pricing and should be banned!" and neglect that they've been in NJ for years in stores like Kohls, Lidl, Shoprite, etc.... and there's not a single instance of them being used to change prices beased on who is shopping.
GitEmSteveDave
And there was safety before regular cameras. Cameras made it better and better able to catch people after the fact.
GitEmSteveDave
So the safety and security of students isn't worth 1.5 million? They should have less?

Because there is no expectation of privacy in public areas. "AI" is incorrectly being applied to tons of technology that aren't AI and have been around for decades.
In the cases in the article, this is all stuff that can be done by a human, but at a much slower rate. But we now have the technology to allow a computer to look through all the footage, at an accelerated rate, and find what we ask it for. Is it any different than something like using ctrl-F to find a passage in a e-book? Or using OCR to find a passage in a scanned book?
Call me a bootlicker, but here is a 5 year old case where a up-skirter was caught, and using facial rec in a supermarket reviewing old footage, they found him doing it to 7 OTHER women. So they were able to identify victims who didn't even know they were victims and also build a stronger case than a single incident could ever be.

Now imagine a case where a Rutgers student is assaulted, they can use the software to track her movements for the day and identify a person of interest. They investigate and find that person is the likely suspect and use the same software to cross reference their personal and vehicular movements against the victims and find a pattern of them stalking this victim.
GitEmSteveDave
And then when an assault victim can't have their attacker identified, or you can't prove a stalker followed a victim, or a SA victim can't have their story cooroborated, just tell them it's OK, because the cameras were "creepy". I mean, they don't deserve security if they give up even a little liberty, right‽

No. He was a minor at the time and NJ has very specific rules that were passed recently about how minors are handled. They can only be taken into custody with a judges/court order and the crime has to be very serious. Otherwise they are released into their guardians custody. Which is what happened.
Now at the time, the kid claimed his vehicle was stolen. So it took the police a day or two to get access to things like video doorbell and security footage. Once they did, they saw it was him behind the wheel and fleeing the scene, so they then had evidence to support the major charges and then arrested him.
