That was the first and last time they actually went all-in on a side-mode instead of leaving it like some kind of half-formed mutant-baby.
I genuinely have no idea why they hate success so much considering that Chaos Wastes basically dug Vermintide 2 out of a really deep rut and gave it a second lease at life. Just look at the player count before and then in the months after. It's insane how big of a boost to the game it was, and then look at what Expeditions did...
Why not repeat what you know will work Fatshark? :(
Glorious_Invocation
I'm not sure how that's going to help you here. All you have now is two sets of non-functional saves.
Glorious_Invocation
That's the thing that's truly mind boggling to me. They created this situation. There is no reason for acts to be 10 hours long. It could've been a series of smaller maps and it would've been fine. Nobody would've cared. But no. They wanted to go big even though they clearly can't make it work...
Glorious_Invocation
There is no speedrunning here. Your characters move as slow as molasses, and you 'have' to break everything if you want to get the same kind of loot & tomes you had before.
Sure, it'll be like 4 hours instead of 10, but that's still an insane ask for something that's entirely Blizzard's fault.
Glorious_Invocation
It's insane that anyone would even try to excuse this.
It takes literally two seconds to think up a solution. If you have a patching process that breaks literally every save file, make shorter maps. Instead of acts being 10 hours, make them 30 minutes to an hour. Job's done.
How nobody actually thought about that while developing the expansion for over a year is unimaginable to me.
Glorious_Invocation
That's no excuse. They didn't need to have each act be 10 hours. It could've been 1 hour and nobody would've said a thing. Yet they still chose to make them massive even though they knew an update would shit all over it.
Glorious_Invocation
Yup. But these "missions" are nearly 10 hours long if you explore everything, so if you were near the end of the act, you get railed.
Glorious_Invocation
Same here. Was nearing the end of the act. Put it off to do a little bit of goofing off, and now I have to do it all over again? I honestly feel like uninstalling the game now. I can't believe anyone okayed this.
Glorious_Invocation
If the choice is between "literally ruin my last week's worth of progress" or "not update the game", I'll go with option nr #2 thank you.
Glorious_Invocation
But that's the thing. You don't really need bkb this game. The only thing that can stop you is the silence. Everything else is easily avoidable.
And you're kinda ignoring the fact that mek/GG boots helps the team. Dota isn't a solo game. Being able to save people in those early fights is huge, especially given how easily storm can react to enemy ganks.
It's not an item you'll want to build every game, but sometimes it really lines up nicely.
Glorious_Invocation
Mek helps the team, and if you're being ganked GG boots will save you, euls will not. They have two silences, so by the time you land you're getting silenced again if you eul. With GG boots you're just outta there unless they've got some damn good coordination.
Glorious_Invocation
Reminds me of people losing their minds about that one neutral item that gave you massive magic resistance in exchange for low HP.
It's super-duper OP, until you get jumped by any core and die within a stun. Same thing with Lina really.
Glorious_Invocation
AM is on 52% WR. Not only is he not the worst carry, he's among the best. Has a higher winrate than both Spectre and PL while having a healthy pickrate. He's not leading by much, mind you, but the hero is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from dead.
Glorious_Invocation
It also removes the possibility of those awesome moments where you swoop in and rescue the game from an impossible situation. And that's a real shame since those are always memorable, regardless on what side you're on.
Kinda hard to clutch if you spawn with fully corrupted health and no resources.
Glorious_Invocation
Main reason I cut back on Brawl over the past few months.
What's the point of brewing new commanders from new sets if all I'll ever fight is the same few commanders that are actually BANNED in the competitive mode for being so busted?
Whoever is managing the casual format is doing a bang-up job of running it into the ground.
Glorious_Invocation
His early game is terrible. If you have any kind of burst you can keep him away from creeps, and if he can't last hit, he can't sustain.
In the midgame he is suuuuuuper vulnerable to vessel. In an ideal game he won't have enough money to counter it until at least 20-25 minutes, which gives you plenty of time to beat the crap out of him and delay the counters even more.
He's also slow as molasses, so if you think he's going to become a problem, just gank him. He simply can't escape anyone.
Glorious_Invocation
I don't mind having a random starter gun, but they all need to be actually good & good to use. And right now there's a ton that just feel pathetic.
Does anyone get excited if they get some of those piddly SMGs? They deal no damage until you spend 30 minutes upgrading them, and all the while you have no range to deal with the most annoying enemies. Yay...
Glorious_Invocation
It was ok back when facets were around, because a sniper maxing Q could destroy basically anyone. So you win the lane early, and still have a carryish support for lategame.
Nowadays it's just throwing.
Glorious_Invocation
That's wrong. Channels usually get $4 per 1000 views, more if the video is longer, so one member is basically that after youtube's cut. It's a nice addition, but it's not replacing regular ads any times soon.
The bigger problem is that they just don't release videos anymore. For a bunch of people that ostensibly do let's plays - BOTC excluded - their video output is insanely small.
It's like 3-4 videos a week now, which for a company with that many people in it, just doesn't work. Would it really be that hard to do another recording session of whatever popular game is currently on to make sure all the members actually get a stable income? Like I get Lewis is rich so he takes it pretty chill, but surely the others wouldn't mind filling in? Dunno, the whole thing just seems weird to me.
Glorious_Invocation
Channel was always banned in 'normal' Historic Brawl, and Rofellos only arrived once the format was already in a bad place. Poq yeah, he's a problem, but him/Atraxa/Rusko also only landed around the time WOTC basically went fully hands-off and the format started to go down the toilet.
Glorious_Invocation
There's loads of fun commanders, it's just that the matchmaking does a terrible job of giving them a fighting chance.
Glorious_Invocation
Brawl used to be the place where you could play any strategy as long as you took a bit of time and effort to fine-tune it. Big red, mono green control, all that kind of fun stuff.
Nowadays the power level has risen so high, and the matchmaking quality dropped so low, that even in casual you have people playing the same few dozen commanders over and over again.
And can you really blame them? What's the point in trying out new commanders from new sets if you're just going to get stomped by Ajani anyway.
Glorious_Invocation
Hah. Raffine is good, but there ain't a single thing fair about her.
Glorious_Invocation
Fair decks are unfortunately long dead. Either join the blue gang or run low to the ground aggro to get around the endless removal/counters.
I'd say it's even simpler than that. Some people just live to complain.
I've been in the Magic: The Gathering scene for decades now, and there's always people bitching about how the sky is falling while forking over yet another $100.
