lol ok

Off arm bud

Vucevic managing a three point attempt from 3-10 feet is almost as impressive. Missed it though

Wolves had two separate 10+ game losing streaks last year but the first one didn’t start until the beginning of December. Didn’t happen quite like you say it did. They were 10-8 when the first streak started.

GoochNibbler

They lost 11 straight after being 10-8. They actually had two different 10+ game losing streaks last season but neither started right after the tweet.

Nah Paris is closer to Athens than Minneapolis is to Northwest Division rival Portland. In NBA terms they're in the same neighborhood

I've never seen a ball hit there before. Sweet Jesus

Ninja edited my comment. 4.6 per game. The most of anyone in that group by a fair margin

GoochNibbler

Last year from 3:

KAT: 40%

Jokic: 31%

Embiid: 30%

Cousins: 27%

KAT also attempted the most of any in that group. 4.6/game. The rest attempted around 3-3.5

GoochNibbler

I mean, depending on your scoring format he’s still worth starting imo. Despite his limited playing time he’s the 9th ranked catcher in my league

GoochNibbler

Stop. In 16/17 Wiggins averaged 24 on better than that TS

GoochNibbler

*98

I have no strong feelings about Klay one way or another, so I rarely feel like it's necessary to comment about him. I'm sure there are loads of people in my boat, but people with strong opinions on a player or team always have the loudest voices and reason/desire to say something.

GoochNibbler

Nothing free about that win. Wolves played with a ton of heart tonight, sucks that the only thing everyone's gonna talk about is the refs after that amazing comeback and a great team performance. In what world do the Wolves beat the Warriors with KAT going 5/17 and Steph hitting 11 threes

GoochNibbler

If going from the finals to 16-48 isn’t the worst year-to-year drop all time it has to be close

Edit: I take that back. 09/10 Cavs were 61-21. 10/11 Cavs were 19-63. Difference of 42 wins

GoochNibbler

And it’s not even close

GoochNibbler

I know you're joking but for the sake of accuracy and because I was curious...

Wiggs has taken 20 shots in 13 of the 51 games he's played in this season

The fewest he's scored in any of those games is 18

He averages 25/6/3/2/1 in those games and the Wolves are 8-5

GoochNibbler

The other time he nearly castrated Mirotic... I think you might be on to something

GoochNibbler

Awful is a bit of an overstatement

The only stretch where he really performed below his usual standard was October - his stats for those 8 games:

19/10.5/2.5/1/2 on 44/45/92 - 59% TS

Most of the “awful start” is narrative because of the Jimmy drama

GoochNibbler

Same with the Yankees and CC Sabathia

GoochNibbler

Not at all. I was backing up your point with stats

GoochNibbler

3 point volume was WILDLY different than it is now

Larry led the league in made 3s in both 85/86 and 86/87 with 82 and 90 makes, respectively

For reference there were 59 players who already have 82 or more made threes going into tonight's games

Last season 82 threes would have tied Larry with Shabazz Napier for 132nd in the league in makes

GoochNibbler

Wiggins has his fair share of issues but I hardly think it's fair to say that conditioning is a big one. Dude led the league in minutes in 16/17 while playing all 82 games and has consistently had some of the biggest minute loads in the NBA, it makes sense that he wouldn't be 100% fresh for every second on the floor.

GoochNibbler

Harden only had 3 such games before this stretch (one earlier this season and one in each of the last two), and his 8 games this month alone would tie him with Steph Curry for first place all time in this very specific stat.

Edit: Note that 8 of the 64 times this has happened it was a playoff game. With that in mind, Harden this past month accounts for exactly 1/7th of the regular season 17+ 3PA games in NBA history

More mildly interesting facts from this list:

The fewest points by a player attempting 17+ threes is 16, courtesy of Quentin Richardson in 2005

Highest percentage made in such a game is 76.5%, by Steph Curry in his 13/17 game in 2016

Lowest 2PA is 0, by the incomparable JR Smith in 2015, who went 8/17 from deep, 0/0 on 2PA, and 0/0 at the free throw line for good measure

Most total FGA is 50, in Kobe's legendary 60 point swan song game (2016) in which he shot 6/21 from deep
