Maybe it flagged some type of browser app as an attempt at piracy? Like an adblocker or something.

They sold a problem to trolls so they could sell everyone else the solution. They did the same thing with the goblin band and the vulture. It’s very intentional.
It’s like mobile games making you pay to remove aggressive ads, but they can point the blame at other players instead of themselves.

I started playing early in 0.5, and I’m already sick of the campaign. I had 3 witches and 2 huntresses by the end of the season because of how ass it was to switch builds.

People say that a lot, but it lacks important context. The baseline currency purchase in PoE1/2 is deliberately very poor value. You’re expected to use Supporter Packs for currency, and they gouge you on the price if you want more after getting them. They do this because they know they can get away with it, because only a “whale” would purchase all the packs and still look for more currency, and a “whale” will accept getting gouged and pay it anyway.
The currency you get for early access purchase is at non-pack gouged rates.
You’re also paying to access the game early, but the full version is getting extremely close.
At this point, I think someone would be better off waiting it out and getting a pack for currency.

The game’s monetization is extremely predatory, giving even gacha games a run for their money.
This means that most players have spent tons of money on it over time, which gives them an unhealthy personal investment in it.
Any claim that the monetization is bad makes them feel like their own investment was a mistake, which makes them extremely defensive and even hostile.
Likewise, they’ll try to convince others like yourself that it’s perfectly fine so they can justify to themselves that the hundreds of dollars they’ve poured in was perfectly justified.

It’s not. I stopped posting there because of that. You could say you don’t like the design of a new relic or something and wind up with -50 karma and a dozen people calling you variations of a dumbass.

As far as I’m aware, China has extremely loose rules on intellectual property on not just a government but also cultural level. Couple that with literal suicide-inducing levels of overwork and I could see why it would be viewed favorably over there.

Most probably don’t care about the theft aspect and welcome anything that reduces work loads, even at the expense of jobs.
