Local AI... only thing I'm really missing, and prices are out of wack for that.

Yes, 2100 is limited to about 700mb on pppoe. It's caused by limitations from bsd pppoe handling, which uses a single core. With a weak cpu like the one the 2100 has it causes a very clear ceiling.

Any n100 computer with opnsense will fix that for you. Ask me how I know.

Wipe everything, deploy it back using code. Next time, just rerun the code. Even if you forgot how it works, the code will remember.

This is assuming you care, of course. Some people are just users who don't care much as long as whatever they need works as expected, which, honestly, is also fine. Just try to get some form of backup going every once in a while.

GrotesqueHumanity

Was gonna voice this exact point...

Codeberg has a public facing service and is not Microsoft. Best compromise if one's willing to not be on GitHub.

I backup the opnsense VM every night to my nas, and grab the backup when I run the full NAS backup to external disks, with one copy going offsite.

I have 2 other hosts able to run the VM, not as powerful but it works. Just need to restore and start the VM and I'm back on my feet.

Cause I know ipv4 and it works. If it ain't broke and all that...

GrotesqueHumanity

Don't worry, after the 4th loss nobody will even have Oregon and playoff in the same sentence.

Right now I'd gladly settle for boring big ten football. Had to leave after the failed 2 pt conversion. 🤦

Like just stop trying to be cool and take the points.

Not windows

While I admittedly didn't try very long, Mikrotik was a significant learning curve.

I currently run opnsense for layer 3 things, with Mikrotik switches limited to layer 2 things.

I moved away from netgate (pfsense) because half the times I had to request a firmware download because an update left the firewall bricked.

I chose to go the vm way with opnsense because of portability. If anything happens to my physical machine I simply restore the backup from the previous night on another machine and I'm up and running.

We running the ball now?

Stop it before backup and use restic.

Make sure to include the directory where the config and database lives as well as the location of your photos.

Honestly I'm just not. I have tailscale in case I want to interact with select services like immich and vaultwarden, or in case I want to use my internal DNS to get ad-block. It's there but only connected when I have a need for it.

Server management is not accessible from outside, even with tailscale connected. Any maintenance I need to do can wait until I'm home.

Interesting, any possibilities of expanding language parameters? Like, most anime are in JP but I want English dub. More often than not I need to manual search and download episodes until I find one with an English track.

Even looking for multi is no guarantee, best thing I can think of would be checking if desired language is included in the downloaded file and trying another release if it's not.

Also it would be very nice if it would somehow be recognized as sonarr and radarr for use with nzb360. Probably quite complicated tho.

The price won't be there next year either. Or next month, for that matter.

Probably a couple days once I get the new hardware setup? I have backups of all my compose files, daily backups of docker persistent data. Restoring ISOs from external drives would take a bit of time once the basic datasets have been rebuilt but that's kinda it.

"Buying more GPUs will solve your problem"

GrotesqueHumanity

Sounds like a home setup, why don't you want to shutdown the containers?

I have a script that stops anything that has a database included in the stack before just copying the files in the middle of the night. This way consistency is certain.

Damn humidity... We got MORE rusty in the past week

Bold of you to assume sneaks are on the playbook. Far as I know it's only screens.

GrotesqueHumanity

Whoa there! Let's not get overboard
