But you wouldn't mind your partner cheating on you either? Let's say you find out she/he has been cheating for months on without you knowing. Maybe to the point of having a side relationship

Tell me about it. First time I came to Canada I was shocked when someone call me out to tell me I was doing it wrong and the fall arrest device was meant to go on your back. This was while climbing up a ladder too! Imagine falling and breaking all your teeth against a ladder because your fall was arrested from your back.... anyway, different regulations

What if you have 100k spread in the different things? Like if I add up all my stocks and etfs I have over 100k but I don't see a massive difference not even when all the markets are up (e.g: technology, whole market ETFs, energy, etc)

What's the reasoning behind this?

You can hold USD witho no fees in QT,

Why not borrowing on LOC to invest in an all times high market? Is that because you're predicting a market crash? Are you saying he should borrow on bear market? Just trying to understand here :)

So it's a bit more like a mutual fund?

I think you'll be fine since you speak german. People say there's loads of rigging and tower climbing jobs

Hi. I'm in Vancouver at the moment but I work in Alberta as well. It's very expensive for me and my partner too and we don't even have kids so I can only imagine what it is for you guys.
My GWO certs are all expired too. The eternal ticket renewal circle. Get ticket - work - save money to renew ticket - Work again. I do wonder if you actually need GWO tickets in europe. I haven't worked in the wind industry here in Canada but I've heard tickets are not required.
I'm looking at Norway as well. Sounds more industry oriented. Maybe oil money and stuff like that. The positive side I can see is that Europe is a very small place so travelling from one country to another to work rotations (14/14 - 6/2 etc) sounds the same or sometimes easier than going from BC to AB.

Btw, I gave up on the idea of going to Switzerland.

Hi. I'm still in Canada. Moving to Europe by the end of the year / beginning of next one.
Don't know how to go about this yet. Might stick to my 14/14 rotations and go to europe on my days off. Is either that or keep paying rent for an empty house.
I haven't heard many good things about working in France. They only have these employment agencies that look for rope access techs every once in a while for a week or two. Definitely not ideal. As you've seen on the other comments, apparently without speaking german (and very fluent I'm guessing, if you want to work as a L3) you won't get too far on that side of the world. I still have some contacts to reach out to but it doesn't sound promising.
I'll keep you updated if anything comes out.

Hi! In my personal experience, what I feel the most after a long day on ropes is the feeling of bad posture. Rounded back, tight PSOAS muscles and glutes. So what I do is this: back bends, lunges stretches (these are the ones that I feel the most), and pidgeon pose for the glutes.
Hope this works for you!

Thank you for your answer mate. I've heard the Netherlands is a good alternative as well. I don't speak German so that's one of the huge cons I have with going to Germany. I'm originally from Patagonia and I live in Canada so I'm alright with the weather.
I do speak English and French. My partner is French actually. I hear nothing good about the industry there though. .. like nothing.
I am afraid that most of my tickets won't be valid in Europe either. Confined space, working at heights, first aid, etc. So I guess I will have to get recertified in all of them.
I'm guessing an idea would be to get in touch with some big european company that works all over doing turbines.
Where are you from originally? is german your mother tongue?
Hahaha
