Forgot to say that I've also not missed the text message by accident. I've tripled checked, plus after every patch, I go & speak to Yoko Tsuru at Kabuki Market but she never has any new dialogue for me

Agreed.

Same with the Elephant too. There's even a temporary Elephant mount you can ride at the Deminiss Wildlife park too

Same I want the Erebus so bad. I even did that Path but didn't have enough of the right skill points. Loaded a save a couple hours before the mission and respec'd. Got there and the fucking skill requirement scales FFS. So pissed off I just continued. Few weeks later saw there was another way to get in the room but was 20+ hours later and I didn't want to lose that much progress. So found another way to glitch all the way back down there and back up again which took a couple hours and was a lot of fun. However, taking the chip to the shop I didn't get the dialogue options so the quest never starts. Was absolutely gutted. Always contemplated a new save but already Platinumed the game twice with 400+ hours and had other games to play. Now GTA VI is coming not sure I'll do a third save..

PS6 will be pointless

No it won't.

The PS6 will bring a much better Zen 6c CPU (which absolutely mops the floor with the limited PS5/PS5 Pro's Zen 2 CPU), which will therefore allow it to do stable upscaled 4K @ 60FPS with high ray tracing on more CPU intensive games like GTA VI.

Rather than 30FPS which the PS5 & PS5 Pro will be limited to for GTA VI. That alone is worth the upgrade to a PS6 for me.

As awesome as the Pro is with its GPU and PSSR2, it still struggles with CPU intensive games at 60FPS e.g. Crimson Desert, hence why GTA VI is 30FPS for it. That's why I never upgraded to the Pro from the PS5, the price wasn't worth it for a limited Zen 2 CPU from 2019. I'd of had my PS5 7 years in November 2027, I've personally enjoyed this gen, but am ready for the next step up the PS6 will bring.

HH__66

Same for me. The Pulse on the PS5 were poor (more so the build quality). I've had the Sony Inzone H7 for a couple years now and they're proper decent, both sound and build quality.

HH__66

Re-read my comment again mate.

I know the PS5 Pro is NOT getting anything other than 30FPS for GTA VI due to its dated Zen 2 CPU, which is why I stated that and said only the PS6 with its Zen 6c CPU will get 60FPS. I own a PS5 for reference and never upgraded to the Pro due to having the same CPU as the PS5.

HH__66

You were spot on by the way, Toyota confirmed it was the clutch release bearing (AKA throw out bearing). Thanks again for all your help!

HH__66

Without a shadow of a doubt, Frames Per Second (FPS).

The PS5 and the PS5 Pro's CPU (even with the latters 10% higher clock speed), is very limited by modern standards. The PS5 came out in November 2020, its CPU is roughly the equivalent to an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X (Zen 2), which released in July 2019.

Previous GTA's have all been very CPU intensive and GTA VI will be the same, hence why it's 30FPS on consoles. The likes of Digital Foundry don't believe that 60FPS will be possible for it on the PS5 Pro either (without Rockstar removing a big chunk of the lighting effects/ray tracing etc. which makes GTA VI looks as awesome as it does i.e. Rockstar wouldn't do that).

So the PS6 will bring a much better Zen 6c CPU (which absolutely mops the floor with the limited PS5/PS5 Pro's Zen 2 CPU), which will allow for stable upscaled 4K @ 60FPS with high ray tracing on more CPU intensive games like GTA VI.

HH__66

Exactly this. I'd of had my PS5 for 7 years come November 2027. I've enjoyed this gen personally, but am ready for a PS6 with its much better Zen 6c CPU so I can play GTA VI @ 60FPS. I don't understand why some people are against others wanting a new console, just don't buy it if you aren't interested it makes no difference.

Crimson Desert is a CPU intensive game and in performance mode, the PS5 Pro uses upgraded PSSR, high ray tracing, upscaled 4K @ 60FPS VSync/upscaled 4K @ 60+ FPS with VRR. In certain areas, the Pro's 60FPS performance mode isn't always stable, likely due to the CPU (the CPU was also mentioned as a concern of Digital Foundry when reviewing). The stability isn’t terrible by any means (I'm a big fan of the BlackSpace Engine and Crimson Desert), I'm just pointing out that it's not perfectly stable at all times in that mode.

So the PS6 will bring a much better zen6c CPU, allowing for stable native 4K/upscaled 4K @ 60FPS with high ray tracing on more CPU intensive games.

TLDR

GTA VI will be a very CPU intensive game and the PS5 & PS5 Pro have a very dated zen2 CPU by modern standards. So 60FPS won't come until the PS6 with its zen6c CPU.

It's good to get official confirmation directly from Rockstar, that it was a completely made up BS rumour (which some of us knew was the case when it first started getting thrown around as a source: trust me bro). So many people as of this week were still repeating the incorrect 1.5 - 2 bil made up claim as if it was gospel.

HH__66

Glad to see that there are still others who remember this. I don't understand how so many people still quote 2 billion, it was never confirmed/verified.

HH__66

How long is the wasted screen? Is long like IV's, short like V's or in the middle.

HH__66

If I'm being honest, I've found GOY kind of a let down. Now by no means am I saying it's bad or sucks because that's definitely not the case, I'd just rate it 6 maybe 7/10 tops. The combat with new weapons is the best part, graphics are awesome too, but outside of that then it's not doing much for me. In my opinion, it's a literal carbon copy of Tsushima without any innovation, creation or advancements and so it very much feels like a PS4 game from the 2010's (apart from the graphics).

I find the game engine very restrictive/basic and everything is just so scripted, you can tell exactly how & what is going to happen/play out in every single encounter, so I just find it very repetitive. Whereas I'm used to the free flowing freedom in games like Crimson Desert, Avatar & Cyberpunk etc.

It then also frustrates me that they didn't bother to code simple things. For example, walking slowly with dual Katana and you hold block, Atsu moves 1 blade through her neck (which would cut her head off) and same with unblocking, she'll move it back through her neck the opposite direction (should cut her head off again). They still never bothered to do proper falling animation/physics, I glided down the side of a big rock in a frozen posture for 5secs before dieing in the identical animation which always occurs, can easily replicate that anywhere too. The rope horse traps which get set, when you kill all four samurai, the rope horse trap just instantly disappears. There's multiple different examples of lazy coding.

So with how slow game development is nowadays, I'm really hoping Sucker Punch move onto a new IP and massively improve their game engine as it feels dated to me.

HH__66

Nice one, this is all really helpful information. Appreciate your help!

HH__66

A couple more questions please if you don't mind thanks.

Presuming the only way to tell if it is the throw out bearing, is to do the work you mentioned to visibly inspect it, or is there another way e.g. a test that can be done?

If it is the throw out bearing, can I just get that replaced? Or should I/do I have to do any of the clutch and flywheel as well? As my car is still low mileage and so I would've thought they'd be ok (again I don't have too much knowledge in this area).

Is there a better/proven part to replace the throw out bearing with, rather than the revised OEM part given it can still fail?

Am I ok to drive in the meantime until fixed (hoping to get it done in November)?

HH__66

Ah ok that's a bigger job then I realised! Good to know more about what's involved if that is the culprit. Appreciate the help cheers.

HH__66

Ok thanks for the information. I did see that the throw out bearing was revised for 2017+ models and so would seem strange for a low mileage 2019 model, but this definitely sounds like it could be related.

If it does turn out to be the problem, is it a big/expensive job or not too bad do you know please?

HH__66

Yes that's exactly the setting I'm using! Surprised the difference it made, more than I was expecting. Looks promising for the future, especially as this was unexpected.
