The whole thing about admins being able to see your dms was never addressed to my knowledge, and they get to choose which other communities they're federated with and you get to see.

Why is this an issue with Mastodon, but not with Twitter, Discord or Reddit? They too can read your DMs and decide what you see in your feed.

If you are worried about the lack of accountability on a Mastodon server governed by private individuals, you may instead choose one run by a corporate entity or organization, like Vivaldi Technologies, Mozilla or the Mastodon organization itself.

This story sounds so fake, but I don't mind that at all.
