HalfManHalfCyborg

You have to clean all glasses, usually every day.

HalfManHalfCyborg

well yes, that is infuriating, but only mildly so.
Perfect content for this sub.

HalfManHalfCyborg

you live in America aren't there like 400 different brands of eggnog you can buy?

HalfManHalfCyborg

Struttin' around with big wattle energy.

HalfManHalfCyborg

Drive time radio programs have had listeners call in to report mobile speed cameras, for decades. I recall them saying that the police were totally OK with it, and only reporting breath testing locations was not permitted.

HalfManHalfCyborg

What a bloody stupid idea.

HalfManHalfCyborg

Mapping car for Google or Apple.

My understanding is that the quote was something like "It's important that everyone is trying to win. But it's the trying that's important, not the winning".

I think you can safely ignore/disregard the scenarios, and just focus on progressing through the adversaries at higher and higher difficulty level.

I would heartily recommend the first expansion (Branch and Claw) that brings the events deck to the game. I think I read that this was actually designed to be in the initial version of the game, but the publishers wanted to split it out into a base box and an expansion. So the core box + B&C is the game that the designer had originally envisioned. Plus, the two included Spirits are excellent and a perfect thing to progress to.

So your next step is to play with the blight cards - be aware that there is official errata that you are meant to put one more blight token on the blight cards than it says. So, 5 tokens for 2 players, not 4. (The designer realised he had made a mistake, it should "go off" when you got beyond the two-blight-per-spirit threshhold, not when you reach it).

Next step, for each Adversary you have, try it at "Level 0" first, using only the escalation effect and loss condition. Keep a record of when you have a victory at each level, when you face that Adversary again try it at the next higher level.

Keep a record of which pairs of spirits you have played, and try not to repeat any.

This should keep you busy discovering new interactions and synergies for at least 50+ games!

Look at Mr Moneybags here. Must be nice to have the wildcards to make fun janky decks. Meanwhile most of us are saving up our wildcards and only spending them on cards relevant for the metagame.

HalfManHalfCyborg

And even then it could be defeated by three squirrels.

HalfManHalfCyborg

Just as a service station, or building an Uluru structure as well?

HalfManHalfCyborg

Yeah, an amazing sight. Eerily silent because it's so far away, and only visiible because it's just so massively tall.

HalfManHalfCyborg

There used to be a "big" Ayers Rock a few hundred kms north up the highway from Sydney. Part of a defunct theme park, and the actual structure became a petrol station and truck stop. Anyway, on one family road trip everyone in the car said "oh there's the Big Ayers Rock", and I pointed out that it's actually The Small Ayers Rock. Nobody else in the vehicle appreciated this champagne comedy.

HalfManHalfCyborg

Everyone hates it. Big Things aren't meant to be anthropomorphised. Imagine if the Big Banana or Big Pineapple had a goofy-looking face on it.

HalfManHalfCyborg

yeah that came to mind for me also.
Unfortunatley most cruises are a closed loop returning to the home port that you left from, making it impossible to actual traverse the globe via cruises.

For something like a movie soundtrack performance, consider if you want to mainly watch the movie, or the orchestra. The boxes to the side are wonderful if you want to be really close to the orchestra, and would enjoy looking at individual musicans playing their instruments. But you would have a very oblique viewing angle to the
movie screen in this case.

Seats in the main section in the middle of the auditorium will maximise viewing angle of the movie screen as well as a close view of the orchestra.

Don't worry about sound, for an event like this it's augmented by speakers and everywhere will hear a good mix of the movie as well as the orchestra by the fine work of the sound desk during the performance.

HalfManHalfCyborg

I would have politely taken off my hat, and then sat up as tall and straight as possible in my seat for the entire show.

HalfManHalfCyborg

So the cruise lines officially say they don't want people to put up door decorations... and you are asking if you should put up door decorations? Unbelievable.

Forget about whether "you will get in trouble", just show some respect for the wishes of the cruise line that have been very clearly communicated with you.

HalfManHalfCyborg

Would pretty much be the Bluey Store if they were still around.

HalfManHalfCyborg

I think of a lot of naysayers will point out that there's a free shuttle bus "but it only operates once every half hour!" as if that service is the only means of getting to WSI via public transport. But in reality there are plenty of buses connecting to various of points on the Opal network.

HalfManHalfCyborg

I just shrug and move on.

HalfManHalfCyborg

You're making a distinction that nobody cares about.

HalfManHalfCyborg

Why run a buffet when you can charge $30 for a plate of dumplings or whatever the latest fad is?

HalfManHalfCyborg

Yes I remember there being an ad like that.
