I just checked out the source and it seems they stretched out the material by a LOT a end on that cliffhanger (i guess). The sequence of events flow much better in the anime whereas the manga just has a few pages as a backdrop. I think the anime here mightve gone a bit too deep in topics that were just supposed to be just there in the story.

Coincidentally, chainsaw man ended recently. I don't know if you've read it or not but the ending was..... something. And relevant to our conversation it reignited a lot of discussion (more like vitriol) about AoT's ending too. And that made me reflect on it more. And tbh I don't know what I feel about it. Like it's not like I like any of the events that went down, or how they did. But also like... I don't think it's somehow so trash that it retroactively makes everything before it trash? Which is a sentiment I keep seeing. Not to mention, it feels like alot of the times it feels some people go out of their misinterpret scenes so they can as upset about as possible lol. Not to mention that side of the fan/hatebase....

But I guess I'm conflating the discourse with the ending itself here... I'm also pretty sad about the state of titanfolk. It has turned into (mostly) a blind hate sub without any meaningful discussion...
