Only reason OLED burn in is discussed is because LCD degradation is normalized. They both degrade. Nobody actually backs up their claims of durability superiority.
Helpful_Rod2339
I've washed it three times and have no clue what you're talking about if I'm going to be dead honest. Microfiber cloth and water takes a single wipe
Helpful_Rod2339
120hz is enough to smoothly reproduce 120 pixels per second. (Ignoring the caveats)
More hz doesn't necessarily mean smoother, just capable of smoothly showing faster and faster content.
Helpful_Rod2339
I remember when it released, it was incredible.
Until my game would randomly make all walls see through and there would be floating chests and TCs everywhere. They then disabled it since.
Helpful_Rod2339
You mean the pixel cleaning? Not an issue once the reminder is turned off.
It cleans itself when it's off.
Helpful_Rod2339
Those are microseconds, hence fake.
https://youtu.be/fLekvkdOQvI?t=7m28s
Real world response times as an example are 0.24ms
Helpful_Rod2339
Both are fake numbers provided by the Manufacturer/VESA that should be ignored.
Both of those appear to be OLEDs so they both both don't matter. OLED response times are all effectively identical and the only thing that matters for motion clarity is the refresh rate with an OLED.
Helpful_Rod2339
As a UCDM owner myself, it doesn't have a dual mode lmao.
Thanks for acknowledging that the non-dual mode QD-OLEDs make more sense.
Helpful_Rod2339
But you need exactly 4 pixel to make single 1080p pixel.
These dual mode monitors don't do that surprisingly. They're pretty terrible for that reason among others
Helpful_Rod2339
The Graphic EQ squig.link uses is a 128 band GEQ. It won't work

Real 48gb/s HDMI?
Helpful_Rod2339
VRR flicker only cares about one thing, how much your games frametimes are changing frame per frame.
When a game has terrible frametimes it'll also flicker, but it's not really an issue as if you have terrible frametimes something is wrong. And if it's a loading screen it doesn't well..matter.
Helpful_Rod2339
949p image so you're likely playing at 1080p?
Even 4K has aliasing issues, at 1080p you'll just have heaps.
I'm sure even DLAA transformer model would struggle there.
Helpful_Rod2339
I get the impression Digital Foundry is more focused on the progress of technology rather than being a full blown reviewer
Helpful_Rod2339
Won't even boot the game due to EAC
Helpful_Rod2339
Those games support refresh rate and resolution control.
Set it

Again just blunt. You're choosing to make the rude association. Observe it
You're also interpreting the word ego through the common definition. There are more though
Helpful_Rod2339
For TAA Rust has TSSAA and DLAA. Any Nvidia user who can should choose DLAA and force the latest model through the Nvidia app too.

In Valorant and overwatch the game will run over 500 frames on the GPU(sub 2ms frametimes) when at competitive settings.

You can still EQ based off spinorama data. This one is optimized to score well in the Harman speaker preference model which mainly prioritizes the predicted in room response. Below is the on axis

but local dimming entirely depends on its implementation; the number of total zones and their ability to switch on and off quickly during transitions. I've seen many many many TVs and monitors that have 16-100 dimming zones, and that looks like utter garbage in HDR. Once you get into the 1100 range for a 27" monitor things finally become substantially better, but sometimes you can still see halo effects/blooming or have poor transitions for moving objects because the rate of switching isn't quick enough. It's not just about having local dimming, a good HDR experience comes from a panel that has great contrast ratio out of the box, around 4000:1 is usually good enough tbh, but much higher is always preferable (like inf:1 oled ofc), and having around 6-800 nits minimum.
This reads like you just learned this and think others on r/monitors don't
It's also all very subjective, and after calling his custom profile some "black crushed monstrosity" you kind of are hating lol. You pissed on him and called it rain....
I'm just blunt, the way someone chooses to interpret the truth is their own self-inflicted ego.

At 4K output frame generation starts becoming quite heavy
Helpful_Rod2339
Cheap and being sold at a near loss for a reason, the software experience is a mess.
This is especially worse for older graphics APIs like DX11 which Rust runs on.

I would really really really recommend selling your current monitor and replacing it with this (or just going with a dual monitor setup)
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/8N7yjn
You really want 1440p at this price point. It's a big overkill otherwise.
