Briefly and heavily dumbed down: that they were confidential informants to the police. Their names got leaked to the people they ratted on and the murders of their children were retaliation. Xana and Maddie were the targets. The other two were collateral. Mowitch was one of the hitmen. I think he has specific POIs for the other 2-3 based on other court documents about the Quad City Task Force and the drug bust involving Jesse James Bailey, but I don't remember their names. These guys are all Aryan Knights and either dead already or in prison already.

Agree. I think AT handled in-court motions fine but never saying a single word in public seriously harmed his defense. I don't understand her strategy. The state never stopped leaking. That's why I think people who think AT leaked to Dateline are crazy, but what do I know. Maybe AT thought they could get the case dismissed and it was never going to go to trial. They had real grounds for a Franks hearing and a dismissal. Plus the chain of custody issues. The judge never cared about a single thing she tried though, so it was all for naught.

There's too little of it to identify. I don't think any of the sheath DNA is identifiable or crime scene relevant. I think it comes from the factory. Controversial opinion but it's mine. To me Profile B, the blood on the railing, is the real perp. Potentially the fingernail DNA as well. All we know about that is there was enough to do multiple tests so the defense could exclude BK. Then the bloody glove, steps from the front door. I think this guy is talking about the mattresses and bedding, which were never forensically tested at all. There are loads more blood swabs that were never DNA tested. There could honestly be more unknown male blood at the scene. The amido black fingerprint was never identified either.

edit: From my reading/understanding of the expert reports, there aren't whole cells in the "environmental dust." Note they used the word "equivalent." If it was actually epithelial cells or some other kind of cells, they would say that. I legit don't think it qualifies as touch DNA. They needed upwards of 4K cells and they had 1/4 that. They're not supposed to be swabbing leather either, the method should have been tape lift.

They didn't DNA test any of that. They didn't even DNA test all the blood swabs they took. This is how they found Profile B unknown male blood, btw. Completely randomly selected. It's a fluke they found it at all, they expected it to be victims' blood. They didn't test any of the blood around it, which could be more unknown male B for all we know. They never tested the mattresses they believe the victims were killed on. You'd think that would have perp touch DNA or potentially blood if he was injured. Hell, Xana's bed next to Ethan looks like it has a bloody handprint on it. No attempt was made to take prints or ID whose blood it was. No attempt at IDing or recording all of those bloody shoeprints. (There is an Ada County report of the shoeprints referred to in the expert reports, but never released.) They never did forensics or fingerprints on their phones which are bloody, chipped, or cracked, implying they were involved in the struggle. MPD are just massively incompetent, and the ISP/FBI in this case were barely better.

None of the at least 5 cars they pretend are one vehicle SV1, is BK's car. His car is incredibly exculpatory. I can't get over his defense team not realizing he didn't have fog lights.
