The problem is that shopping online is becoming irregular due to the major stores farming out "leads" to anyone that signs up as a seller. They sell , they ship. Even Home Depot and Lowes are doing it. I don't know about others. Pushing off used/returned items seems to be becoming the norm and you shop at your own risk. My experience with Amazon so far is that returns are easy and accepted. I have received obvious returns and one pkg that contained only packaging (return accepted...go figure).
