I generally agree that we need more regulation in food advertising regardless of whether AI is involved, but as a photographer I will say that a lot of food just does not photograph as well as it looks in person and a lot of food styling is just working to fix that. But yeah, especially with the bigger fast food companies the amount of fake food that gets used for ads is kinda insane. The only difference is really that at least their fake food is intended to actually look like the products they sell (not necessarily in terms of quality, but a fake Big Mac at least somewhat resembles a real Big Mac). An AI menu is largely not actually going to look anything like the real food. Companies have been sued over this before, iirc Chipotle was recently sued over false advertising.

Cities were perfectly capable of optimizing infrastructure before the advent of mass domestic surveillance. There is absolutely a middle ground between "any cop in the country can track your precise location and watch you through ALPRs and CCTV cameras without a warrant" and "no technology in public ever"
IAMATARDISAMA
Ring literally advertised a feature during the Superbowl about how users of Ring can use cameras they do not own to "track your lost dog" as if that same technology will not also be used to track people. Ring cameras have been used by ICE to track down immigrants without the knowledge or consent of the camera owners, this is a documented and known feature of the product. The concern is not with personal security, it's the fact that the most common platform for it tracks all of that data without your or your neighbors' consent. Use a system that's open source or not cloud-enabled if you value security AND data privacy.

I do think it's worth mentioning that a service Flock offers is tying other third party cameras into their domestic surveillance network. Non-Flock devices can be bootstrapped to effectively become Flock cameras. Any device capable of recording video could be used like a Flock camera and citizens would have no way of knowing because there is no regulation requiring transparency about this. It is not sufficient to only target Flock cameras specifically, we need broad sweeping reform across American cities to target domestic surveillance as a whole.

I think James is incredibly strategic and observant which could make for a great traitor. Unfortunately, I don't think he'll be able to keep lying under pressure. We'll see though!
IAMATARDISAMA
There is a world in which he could have recovered from it more gracefully. It's probably not this one, but in theory it's doable.
IAMATARDISAMA
This movie is very creative and very stupid, 10/10 would recommend.

Really liked the episode but I do agree with the comments about the end feeling a little weird due to the cast seemingly not wanting to be there anymore. It's one thing to joke about a late wrap time, it's another when one of the main judges is actively making voting decisions based on the fact that she wants to go home (not a knock on Maria, I think it's an understandable response). I can imagine it's a logistical nightmare filming a show like this with such a huge call sheet, but I do think this episode probably could've benefitted from being split into two filming days or something. I'm sure plenty of episodes in the past have run up against the clock but it's never felt more apparent than here. That being said I still really enjoyed the concept and the execution. Jiavani reading her DMs to Gianmarco was physically painful to watch lmao.

I can definitely get how some people found the decision to do a more sketch-forward episode unappealing, but I think the variety and performance elements of Game Changer that result in episodes like this are part of the appeal for me personally. There was an adjustment period during the episode as I realized it was a blend of improv and sketch, but once I realized what was happening I just kinda strapped in for the ride and enjoyed it. I like it when Game Changer refuses to JUST be an improv game show and uses the format to try new interesting things. Sometimes it doesn't land for everyone, but I really enjoyed this episode and I hope they do more weird stuff like it.

I didn't think anyone could move faster in a T-Rex costume than Grant desperately trying to hold on to the bottle of massage oil

Yeah Izzy in NSBU is some of the funniest stuff I've seen on Dropout IMO. She's insanely funny, and iirc she was also pregnant while filming that. I think people forget that the folks making these shows are all adults and probably had conversations about this behind the scenes beforehand. Game Changer has made last minute substitutions before, and I'm sure if anyone on production or Izzy herself felt like she would be unable to safely perform for this episode she would've been switched out. I think Izzy even jokingly promoted the episode on Instagram saying something along the lines of "Look at what this sick bastard makes pregnant women do." It really isn't that serious.

I think the idea is that it's a long term form of effective eugencics. I wonder if maybe the trillionaire thought he could use the memory drugs to force humanity to forget how to make nanotechnology over time. That's why the drug was given to the silos and why only certain people are allowed to breed, and why the safeguard exists. You could breed out traits like curiosity and ingenuinty, and if a silo gets too close to inventing nanotechnology you can use the safeguard to prevent them from doing so. You allow computers, but you don't let anyone develop the technology to make them. You don't allow cameras because then you could create a robot that could see.

That person is also a trans person and their experience is just as valid as your friend's. A stranger living their truth and being proud of who they are is not responsible for your friend's mom being a shitty conservative. If she hadn't seen this clip she would have found another reason to demonize trans people. This kind of argument is like telling queer people to tone it down at pride events because conservatives might hate us more. They already hate us and no matter how much we try to pretend to be cishets in a nuclear family it's not going to change that.
I am sorry that your friend had to deal with that, but it isn't that guest's fault. I hope that either your friend's mom fixes her heart or your friend is able to maintain a healthy distance from her and finds a family that respects them.

I've experienced wait times for parties of 4 around 45 minutes at worst, but more often it's more like 0-10 minutes. I usually just pop over to Pins, maybe grab a drink, play some free arcade games, and then walk back over when I get my waitlist text. It's not too bad, there's a lot to do in the area while you wait.

I've lived in this neighborhood for seven years man. I don't want my home to feel like a dystopian nightmare twice a week. I don't think that's unreasonable.

What the fuck lol, who are these clowns

Not everybody watches the news. You'd think if they had the manpower to notify residents with flyers they could've had the decency to do that more than 24 hours out.
IAMATARDISAMA
Cool, where are the dates and times for those meetings circulated? The South Side Community Council website does not list information for residents to show up.
IAMATARDISAMA
can we add the tour version of 1-800-fuck-off to the list

I bought Charli tickets for my partner and I pretty much entirely so we could see underscores on her first stadium tour lol

The line will be longer than you think and will start earlier than you think. We arrived at 7 for doors at the Philly show and the line was already wrapping around the block. If you want good spots get there half an hour to an hour early or be prepared to sneak through the crowd.
Merch line is insane at all times and if you wanna hit it before they sell out of stuff you gotta make sure you plan for it. I love Umru and didn't wanna miss his set but if you're just trying to cop merch that's probably the best time. Umru was working the merch table selling poplife shirts both shows I went to though which was super cool and worth waiting in line for.
Prepare for some amount of moshing. At the shows I went to the moshers did it pretty respectfully and would either clear out a circle before starting to warn anyone who didn't wanna mosh, or would go around asking nearby people if they wanted to start a pit. If you're pro moshing just be respectful about it. If you're anti moshing try to give the moshers some space and let them do their thing.
If you bought a U light don't flip the battery in it until you arrive at the venue. Apparently those kinds of lights can get damaged if you leave the battery plugged in, mine broke before the Philly show 😭 Would also recommend taking it out after the show to ensure the light doesn't break after.
Please don't be the person who blocks other people's view recording the entire show. There's so many clips online already and there's professional photographers at the venue who will share photos online. Focus on enjoying yourself!
Overall prepare for a really sick show. Lots of little treats and surprises for new fans and old fans. Underscores knows how to throw down!

Hyperpop is born of edm, underscores used to make Dubstep and a bunch of her songs still go hard as fuck. She literally asked us to open up a pit during the Santa Ana show. There's nothing wrong with moshing and seasoned ravers know how to do it safely and respectfully. There is room for all kinds of concert enjoyers to coexist in the same venue.
IAMATARDISAMA
There were a couple pits in Philly but from what I saw people tried their best to clear out the area where the pits would happen beforehand so anybody who didn't wanna participate had an opportunity to move. Definitely felt like it was friendly and well controlled moshing from where I was anyway. The biggest problem was just not being able to breathe from the humidity lol.
IAMATARDISAMA
I definitely think they could do at minimum one more game samer with it but I don't know if it has the legs to be a full spinoff. You could probably do a season of it at most before it gets stale imo.
There are multiple proven cases of cops accessing non-flock cameras using the flock infrastructure for illegal reasons this is easily googleable
