If you want to open it up to others outside of your immediate circle (like a 55+ without a formal HOA, but by word of mouth), let me know! I've been looking for a neighborhood exactly like yours. It'll require relocating since those don't exist close enough so it'll be starting over anyway. It'd be nice to start over with a similar group of neighbors and not be the one-off, cast off, OK BOOMER in the neighborhood.

Maybe she could influence you to not be anti-semitic by using a religion and making Judaism a bigoted trope, but it seems she's fueling it.

By your argument, your very own country claims to be Supreme of the world and has from the richest to the most powerful, etc. and is even more imperialistic and now modern-day colonialists by the very people she and you aren't focused on.

Two older Liberals in my house LOLing @ you and confirming that absolutely no liberal would say, "There's no way you can out-Liberal me". You sound like a Tur/Republican minded paid troll or are you just crushing on her since you follow her dating life?!

With age comes wisdom that can detect a BSer a mile away. Please go back to wherever you came from and take her with you while the rest of us get news from a trustworthy source that doesn't make our skin crawl by her bad attitude with guests, poor programming choices, and obvious agenda to undermine liberal values.

Can anyone help me understand how so many Jewish Gen Z & Millennials are outspoken about hating Israel & purposely declaring they are not Zionists or is it just my perspective seeing it in socials making it seem much worse than it is? It's not just coming from young people calling themselves Leftists or idol worshiping Greta Thunberg because they were rightfully trying to preserve the planet but morphed with social media circles, it includes people that have careers where historical knowledge and critical thinking used to be parts of their jobs. It's mind blowing to see almost without fail people self identifying as LGBTQIA or on the spectrum to be not just pro pal, but vehemently anti Israel and anti-zionist, when they would be tortured & killed in Gaza for who they are, and most had never once mentioned how terrible 10/7 was, they either were silent or jumped on the band wagon of the, "What do you expect because Israel was something something colonizing something".

Do their parents agree with them? Where are their parents?! What happened in Hebrew/Sunday school? Were they in Hillel, did Hillel see this coming?! Is this happening in Humanist Congregations or is it also in many reform congregations, etc?

I'm not asking for blind loyalty nor expecting for anyone not to be bothered by or opposed to things with Israel, but this is a disconnect by younger Jews that are feeding antisemitism by the most basic tropes and they have even become the aggressors themselves to whomever isn't standing in their progressive soup of toxicity.

I'm earnestly trying to understand and looking for ways to navigate.

I applaud you for having the moral judgement and courage to recognize there isn't anything progressive or left leaning with the "Lefties". Lots of people have muddied their politics with their social identities in a more encompassing way than ever, and it's likely because social media creates a microcosm and continuous stream of emotionally charged information and demands.

Leftys are not Democrats, they have stated many times they want to abolish the party. There is plenty of room for you to stay in the Democratic affiliation, being Liberal minded, without having to feel compromised. This wave of radicalization could use more people staying involved to steer US back to striving to be our best selves with rational, critical thinking and maturity of understanding by the quote that "Perfection is the enemy of progress". What's important now is for you to be and feel safe and clear eyed about your identity and construct a social circle, and political circle if you still want, that honors you and Jewish people. There is no equivocating in respecting or honoring people's lives that are Jewish. It wouldn't be OK if Americans were treated the same because of Trump, or Russians, because of Putin's wars, etc.

It's very important to recognize that antisemitism has historically been the bell weather for a very troubled society. In fact, the claim that Jews/Zionists are responsible for how they are treated everywhere doesn't explain every instance or program throughout history when Jewish people were not even given citizenship rights or rights to marry because they weren't recognized by the governments in the countries they lived in. It's propaganda and I'm very sorry more aren't as courageous as you are and have followed or stayed in that movement and wear it as an identity.

Sending you love and light.

Little Debbie was my first love, and you never quite get over 1st love 😍

Hi @leftkneesack do you have a realtor you like & trust because from what I'm seeing Lombard is much, much higher than Rockford/metro. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places so I'd would really appreciate a good realtor's help.

Your argument is the most bot-like unfounded insane argument with no observable, legitimate information. Shame on you for down voting me; shame on you for presenting no evidence: ignoring the AMA designation, amongst others, shame on you for arguing against healthcare as a right, and general, provable, and quantifiable evidence. More people than not have no figured you out, and soon enough there will be an unforgivable majority that will find you even more repugnant and useless than I do.

Are you in love with or related to a Doctor? I've never seen a bigger bunch of "professionals" with a lower tolerance for circumspection, or more untapped power, but are the whiniest group possible.

IMBD-Shadow

Then what is your frame of reference other than being a contrarian for no reason and no ethical frame of reference. Jeezus. WTF. They paid dues for decades for representation. They could easily implement masking and pay for a freaking air filtration, like the rest of us have. Go away, because you have just lowered everyone's math skills and proven most of this thread's points.

IMBD-Shadow

Are you a Doctor? Be honest, because your comments seem like you're a bit or just plain disingenuous m

IMBD-Shadow

That's a disingenuous comment!

Republicans have destroyed the farm industry and most farmers remain Republicans, so they really do vote against their own interests.

They want to leave the very govt representation that helps them. Yes, our tax dollars and willingness to pay them help bail farmers out every time Republicans destroy their worlds, privatize like vultures when farms struggle, or offer a temporary bailout only to take away from them in other ways, creating a vicious cycle and more ecological pitfalls for them to contend with.

Farm Aid started under Reagan, because the Republican government wasn't helping, and Republicans continue to ignore them straight through Trump 1.0 decimating the soybean industry - Illinois's biggest crop - and Trump 2.0 is going for absolute destruction, to have a fire sale for his billionaire buddies, only saving just the very few to help tow the Maga extremes.

True, but Facebook was the deathknell to society.
