I guess it might have depended on where you went to High school? I graduated pretty close to when you did but I was in Northern California. Naruto, Hellsing, Bleach, and Death Note were all very popular. I even knew people who liked Mushishi.

I remember my substitute teacher talked about the Naruto Pain village arc in my art class lol (2009 I think?)

I also become friends with a Thai transfer student who was a huge fan of Naruto and we’d talk about the weekly chapters.

But yeah the attitude towards anime may have varied tremendously depending on where you went to high school in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

And yeah by the mid 2010s and then Covid, Gen Z and Zillennials amplified it to mainstream.

Dahhhhhhh! *Both run away.

I mean you can always try a lvl 1 fight on NG+6 if you feel the fight is too easy.

There are always ways to make the older fights as hard as you need them to be. This applies pretty consistently for DS1 and DS2.

I just sent you a message. Please reply.

Hey. I’m back. Please let me know if you have any requests for the subreddit as I’ve been gone a while and the place clearly needs work.

Chapter 66 is coming up and I’ll try to coordinate with the Discord server again.

I had a family member who became extremely ill and I had to visit them while they were undergoing immunotherapy. No excuse though as I was still running other subs. If you know anyone willing to help out with modding, feel free to send me a DM. I will need some help when the anime rolls around.

Come on Nozomi, 30 is not old! There definitely is a stigma in Japan towards that number.

ImoutoCompAlex

I would like to see Seina from Blue Ursus lose more, as well as Nozomi from ISSK. Not asking them to lose a lot but some notable losses that lead to them getting stronger would be nice.

His argument basically boiled down to “It’s balanced around Co-Op which is good game design since you can challenge yourself by not summoning or summon allies to make the area easy.” Therefore Iron Passage and Frozen Outskirts are great areas. I gave up reasoning with him after I saw the conversation wasn’t going anywhere. I never had a conversation this bad faith in any other FromSoftware community.

I don’t even hate Dark Souls 2 or anything. It has a lot going for it that’s better than Dark Souls 1 but also a lot that’s worse than Dark Souls 1 and 3. High highs but also low lows.

While I rank Dark Souls 1 overall as the better game when taking the base game into account, Dark Souls 2’s DLC was an overall a better experience than anything I played in 1.

But the Dark Souls 1 community has largely been pretty chill about the flaws in their game whereas Dark Souls 2 fans are insanely defensive just because their game got too much hate over a decade ago. They have to let go of this persecution complex. It’s 2026.

I wonder if we met the same guy who was going off on anyone who criticized the frigid outskirts?

In my experience, Dark Souls 2 has the most toxic fanbase, and I’d rank it above Elden Ring’s fanbase in terms of how unhinged they can get.

We run that as well. You should still be able to participate in the pinned discussion threads for each episode if I recall correctly.

Well everyone has different tastes. Much respect for sharing your opinion. I personally disagree strongly with most of this list.

In terms of what I value, I feel that bosses are more than just their fight. Lore, dialogue, relevance to the story, or just their impact on FromSoftware’s historical game design is what I think about more. There’s a lot of fights in older souls games that have aged pretty poorly in terms of mechanics but I still like them a lot.

I ranked him as a candidate I really liked initially due to his science background, love of animals, and methodical way of choosing his campsite, but I also ranked him as finishing somewhere around 3rd place and below Aaron who I thought was going to win the whole thing. I was just so skeptical of someone winning without a Ferro Rod.

Like many here decided though, he became the favorite to win once he got that Moose and especially when Aaron failed to get a Moose.

ImoutoCompAlex

Now… you’ve said that word, “implication” a couple of times. What implication?

ImoutoCompAlex

I would personally say no, as I don’t even consider action games like Sekiro a “souls game” but for the sake of appeasing souls fans, Souls-Lite if anything is more appropriate. It certainly takes inspiration from dodges telegraphed attacks and respawning enemies in checkpoints.

But there are also huge differences. You don’t corpse run to get your exp back, or lose any “souls” when dying and there isn’t a typical interconnected over field type world like in a lot of souls games.

You're fine! Please post here more! <3

Alright thanks. I’ll work on these today.

ImoutoCompAlex

Kanji Kurosawa? Or the huge guy they're fighting now? And this would be his actual older sister reborn as this guy?

ImoutoCompAlex

Who was she reborn as?

Is she that Hayul/Tomoe Kaburagi character or is it someone else? Spoil me, I don't mind.

ImoutoCompAlex

I guess Shiina has an imouto complex towards Hina. Not surprising.
