I had a ton of fun with the beta

1.01 K/D here, 1.75 W/L ratio. I have about 5 hours played and 33 matches, never quit a game even if It got stomped that game and I never got disconnected. I don't know if this feeds any conspiracies but figured I would add to the conversation, overall I personally have had a good time so far
Edit: I care way more about objective than K/D, just in case anyone thinks I got carried to my wins. I don't even know how I would get carried tbh haha I play mostly alone or with 1 friend

You're just running around, how do you expect to win a gunfight without making smart decisions? Like the one where you get shot from the side and then try to jump shot around the bus at low health? Every time you spawn you just tac sprint out into the open, past all the cover, never looking around where enemies are.
Imthereal_AB
You must be talking about Duality my friend, but OP is asking about Grasp of Avarice
Imthereal_AB
That makes sense, I usually tend to continuously throw my hammer after even if I don't have roaring flames since when you collect it after hitting something with a throw it cures you, I think that is how I survive the damage after the super ends! I also use Hammer of Sol instead of Burning Maul so I can create a sunspot to survive in too

It was 1 per char per week before Moment of Triumph, but I have not tested now to see if you can do it over and over again when it's featured, I would imagine it's not farmable when it's not featured though, hopefully someone replies and tells us lol
Imthereal_AB
What class are you using? Personally I use the Uncivil Discourse to shoot hands both during mechanics and damage.
I usually use Super based damage builds for this boss like Hallowfire Heart on Titan, Geomags/Stormdancer's Brace on Warlock, and Raiden Flux or Shards of Galanor on Hunter for an easy two phase on solo. I personally kill 3 shades and compel 2 also.

Dude I wish I did, my friends had an awful time with this quest because it seemed to soft lock on them, so I wonder if it had to do with one of your fire team members having either an unfinished quest, or one of you not being full initiate. I have gotten the class item from Master before quest completion and then one other class item when I soloed the dungeon on normal with the focusing mechanic. I still need to get it in the last character just because it's tedious
Imthereal_AB
Do Master and hope you get it (I don't think it's guaranteed but it is possible)
Alternatively, go to the Hidden area at the beginning of the dungeon, activate the pillar where the wheel of symbols are, shoot Worm, Give, and Guardian and then activate again to lock this in (this activates the secret chest). Start navigating to the first encounter, kill 2 subjugators and some dread and then step on the trick wall to enter the next area, where a 3rd subjugator is, in this room jump up to the right and there is a hidden platform that you can stand on and shoot into a black crevice which will open a door (this is one of the rooms for the quest) go into this room and find the guardian symbol at the back of the room, approach it and activate it.
Finish the dungeon without leaving and without activating any other symbols and you will ge the class item from the bonus chest.
Edit: I provided info on how to get the class item in general, also assuming you didn't know the full steps for the bonus chest since you said you got nothing! To answer your question I think this might be the only way of farming for class items without doing master difficulty but I have not personally tested this, good luck guardian

I feel the same. I manage people in a call center for a major bank, and I had an employee who had a baby on the way, but unfortunately kept violating a security policy around cell phone use. It happened enough times that HR was like yeah we are done with this. As many chances as I gave them, they didn't stop and they lost their chance at 100% paid parental leave for 16 weeks because I had to terminate them a month before the baby was born. I hated it even if they did it to themself just because of how much I knew it affected their life
Just to add: I had so many conversations and follow ups with them about the situation too, this was a long time coming and they got at least 5 "final" warnings from other managers in my center. I was just the one to consult hr about it. They had so many chances to fix it and they knew the consequences but they still chose to continue

I very nearly one phased this on Titan with the following build:
https://dim.gg/apv4z4q/Hallowfire
I included some options but I used Threat Level with 1-2 punch and trench and Fafnir as my heavy since I was working on the catalyst. Energy weapon doesn't really matter, just make sure you pop your hammers when you have 10x sunfire furnace stacks. I also used Hammer of Sol but Burning Maul is also amazing if you use the light attack repeatedly

An ordinance belt would be cool, an idea I have is you could loot grenades into your backpack like normal, and then put them in a specific order on your belt. If you ran out of frags then whatever was next in line would populate after that. The grenade wheel could be used to decide what item was first on your belt in any given moment

Damn thought my glasses were dirty suddenly

I would delete all old (old as in non-tiered) armor tbh, exotic armor is probably cool to keep til you upgrade, or you can keep ones you have fun with. Weapons though you can probably delete everything unless you care about high kill counters or memories, and replace with tiered and craft able weapons. Also the vault goes to 1300 now so you can take your time to purge too

Holy peak

Nearly blind without my glasses (semi blind even with them), so sound is huge for me and I wear iems, they are amazing

It's in the API with an insane perk list

Sponsored Survival is still dangerous and tense because of limited heals, but I think it's a fun way to engage with the game. I like the threat of rooks being there, but I haven't seen many of them. I don't go in there expecting crazy loot, but I am also very casual and if I get a random purple item I get very excited. I have definitely died to AI a lot more in this mode than any other mode. I feel like I almost always exfil in the non survival modes because you can have a lot more heals to work with. Triage is amazing on Sponsored Survival too for that reason, especially when the sponsored kit has a volt weapon

I choose solos and it seems to continue to load me into duos and trios. I choose solo and crew fill off, but it doesn't seem to make a difference for me. Happened on Dire Marsh and Perimeter
Imthereal_AB
I was wondering why so many "solo" runners were teaming up or chasing each other around but not shooting hahahaha I was like WHY DO I KEEP RUNNING INTO MORE THAN ONE?!
Then I realized this was my mistake☠️
Imthereal_AB
Cardio Kicks are huge, as others have stated, OP should definitely also make sure to choose the Vandal shell to eliminate heat in a tough moment, so I would also suggest a stack of Energy Amps
Imthereal_AB
I love getting kills like this and then telling them on prox "It didn't have to be this way dude" as I finish them off hahahah
Imthereal_AB
I did see this today, and did not think of this post for a second til I saw the notification for your reply. Game still not dead for me though I will continue playing as long as it is fun for me. Your original post is still weird to me, just as weird as you pulling a 2 month old "I told you so"

Destiny 2 has been my main game for years, and I have been playing and loving Marathon since the Server Slam. Destiny also might be receiving its final update but I will still go back and play all that it has to offer. I also am looking forward to how they support Marathon in the future, because of how much fun I have had.
