For the context of the movie, I think it made sense. All of it was about him being the last airbender. He'd want to use that as an attempt to remeber his people. But I agree, I really wish we saw him use other elements more

I mean, Aang was found in a similar state, but it's been said SO many times that it's because of the avatar state preserving him. So I agree. Why would we set free this dude that's clearly not the avatar?

It is gorgeous, but a lot of the plot points were weird and extremely predictable to me. Like, not even halfway through the movie, I was able to guess the twist. The pacing sucked. Also the characters felt.. different? Like, they didn't feel like the characters we fell in love with
