Is there a mod that lets you remove s-mods from ships you can't scuttle and rebuild? I know it's in the upcoming patch, but that could be months out. Or worst case, some kind of save edit?

I know Progressive S-Mods lets you do it but it's more of an s-mod overhaul; I'd still much rather spend SP rather than grind xp on each new ship.

Yeah, Physical Ranged relies on the 1% buff they give to earn a slot already.

If such a small difference is meaningful enough to bring an entire role along, then noone is going to let Reborn in doing 1% less DPS.

I tried to do survey missions but they kept getting withdrawn within a week or two before I even picked up fuel for the trip, even though they said 45-60 days. One time there was a cluster of 3 survey bounties in one corner and all of them got withdrawn.

Do Scavenger fleets intercept them or something?

If you ran Recall Knowledge by the book, you have these paragraphs relating to the first question, and subsequent questions.

When encountering a subject for the first time, your first question will likely be a basic “What is it?”, which the GM can answer with a name and basic description like, “That's an ogre, a tough and cruel giant” or “This is the symbol of Urgathoa, a goddess of disease, gluttony, and undeath.” If you already know this base level of detail on the subject, the list below includes some reasonable questions.  The GM determines what other questions to allow. Usually this is simple as long as you stick to one question. Any question must be about something observable in the game world, not the abstract numbers of the rules. The GM might tell you a lumbering monster's Reflex save is its weakest—translating a concept your character could understand using the game term for clarity—but wouldn't reveal the exact Reflex modifier. The GM can find more guidance in GM Core.

Creatures: “Can it be reasoned with?” “What environments does it live in?” “What's its most notable offensive ability?” “Is it highly vulnerable or resistant to anything?” “Are any of its defenses weak?”

GM Core expands on this under Creature Identification:

A character who successfully identifies a creature learns one of its best-known attributes—such as a hydra's head regrowth (and the fact that it can be stopped by acid or fire) or a manticore's tail spikes. On a critical success, the character also learns something subtler, like a weakness that's not obvious or the trigger for one of the creature's reactions.

Put together, this suggests that the first successful Recall Knowledge can only be used to learn what a creature is, and its most iconic feature. So probably a dragon's breath weapon, or some form of spellcasting.

Only on subsequent checks can a PC roll to identity more pertinent information like "What is its weakest defense?" In other words, two actions to learn which save to target. Not to mention how, after the first successful check, the DC increases and any failures mean you have recalled all you know.

Sometimes a character might want to follow up on a check to Recall Knowledge, rolling another check to discover more information. After a success, further uses of Recall Knowledge can yield more information, but you should adjust the difficulty to be higher for each attempt. Once a character has attempted an incredibly hard check or failed a check, further attempts are fruitless—the character has recalled everything they know about the subject.

Our table's GMs give the "what is it?" on the first roll but still allow us to ask what part of the statblock on the first go rather than being locked in by its iconic features. Recall is action intensive as it is.

It was just one of the recipes unlocked by the alchemist pretty early. Revelwood materials.

What do you typically do with the special level 7+5 officers if they don't quite fit your fleet doctrine?

I've got the Phase Ship and Energy Safety Overrides variants of the officers:

Impact Mitigation, Field Modulation, Target Analysis, Systems Expertise, Combat Endurance*, Polarized Armor, Energy Weapon Mastery

Combat Endurance, Target Analysis, Systems Expertise, Damage Control, Impact Mitgation*, Field Modulation, Energy Weapon Mastery

and I'm not sure what to put them in. My fleet is low-tech/max range (Onslaught/Legion/Invictus with Escort Package Enforcers) and while the officers have all the relevant tank skills, they don't have Ballistic Mastery, Gunnery Implants, Ordnance Expertise or Point Defense. If they had Gunnery Implants to make elite, it'd be easy as they could fly a couple of Omens and give 5% ECM or drive an Onslaught. It feels like a huge waste to not use them though.

10000 aether you mean, not running roulette 40000 times. It's around two weeks of dailies, with a few extra alliance raids if you keep getting CT.

It certainly beats farming Shaaolani for 90 fates for a single atma...

My favorite part of the definition is "[...] and sophisticated packaging, usually with synthetic materials."

While you could make a slim case for possible microplastics, it counts the packaging the food comes in as well as the food. If your food comes in a featureless cardboard box, it's less ultra processed apparently.

I still sorely miss the old 1e switch hitter ranger. You took Archery specialization to get all the cool archery feats for free without stat requirements, and used your normal level-based feats for a 2h weapon of choice.

Even now there's few options for a true switch hitter in the entire system. There's Summoner being the best with Ranged Combatant, or using a reinforced stock but that limits you to crossbows and firearms.

Instead they pulled a Warcraft 3 Reforged and removed the original Shogun 2.

Scouring my sector for a good colony setup in vanilla, how important is it that they're in one system so a High Command with a Cryo Engine can defend all of them for the crisis events?

I've got a few decent planets surveyed, apart from a no-atmosphere Organics for mining though I haven't found a Bore yet anyway, but none are near each other.

Figured it out. The tooltip was counting full levels rather than story exp brackets. When it reached 16 mil, it said 4.

But I got all the bonus exp when hitting 15 and as it's 1 million per story point, then I've got enough bonus exp for 16 SP, not 4.

And that was if you were lucky to get in the queue as the store was struggling to process payments due to all the deposits. Just an hour later and you waited 6+ months after launch. As an old Q2, I forgot about all that, it adds some perspective to the overall wait.

The only thing is they should have given those estimates outright like last time. As well as OP's case, people have bought passthrough cameras and VR games on sale or bundles expecting the timescale was shorter.

Not who you replied to but... uh oh. My case is only rated for 3.0 on the front ports. The motherboard itself is 3.1 but the back of the PC isn't in line of sight.

"1 SP 100% XP" is meant to be a full refund according to every resource I can find, but I've spent most of my SP on refunding options (a lot of fleet evasion) and just ~6 of 20 SP spent on elite skills and S-Mods but the XP tooltip seems to say I'm not going to get the refund I should for the other 14 SP.

To test even further, I burned through the 4 SP I had saved during a pirate raid and the tooltip reads (at level 7):

You have 1,363,326 bonus experience. You will gain 12,350,572 additional bonus experience on max level, this is enough to gain 3 story points.

to

You have 2,698,624 bonus experience. You will gain 15,015,264 additional bonus experience on max level, this is enough to gain 3 story points.

After spending 4 story points, I'm not sure it should still say only 3, right? From what I can tell, it seems like the 1 SP 100% is only a 100% refund when you spend the SP at max level; before that you 'lose' some of the XP, possibly as a balancing measure as you level up faster and gain more skills when below max level?

Late to the party as I just started playing again a few days ago, but the whole set of notes don't bode well for my eventual Invictus flagship.

Polarised Armor gutted out as it wants both the extra venting and the armor DR, and the new elite skill makes no sense on a skill that gives you Shield Shunt and can't overload anyway, a special crew salary tax, and the HAG buff being reverted.

It's hardly 'strats' when it's just the tank wanting to do DPS. Especially if they're leveling up with CE/FATE grinding in Zadnor. Not all field content is made up of coordinated raids like DRS or BA.

And even moreso for casual field content, you can't shirk to a tank not in your party either. That won't change as I'm pretty sure they changed it to stop tanks from Shirking to people to MPK them in the first place, and two shirks would make that very easy.

The tile lines are not even parallel in perspective either.

The font is a giveaway too. Strange drip coming off the M, random slashes through the word, and the shading/3D effect is inconsistent.

Remove all potency runes, striking runes, and resilient runes. Items that normally grant an item bonus to statistics or damage dice no longer do, other than the base item bonus to AC from armor.

Just says items, so that's everything that gives item bonuses.

Even if it did say permanent items, that would be even worse than what ABP does as potency bonuses would stack with those nonpermanent item bonuses.

Yeah, this post comes to mind: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1iwztp1/steam_support_is_claiming_my_deck_was_stolen_it/

Steam must clearly know what purchases are tied to which serial, otherwise that person couldn't have had theirs reported stolen.

Dungeons of Eternity looks good. It's got one of those two-game bundles with Ancient Dungeon. Art style kinda reminds me of Barony, is that worth picking up too?

Impulses are magical, and though they aren't spells, some things that affect spells also affect impulses. Abilities that restrict you from casting spells (such as being polymorphed into a battle form) or protect against spells (such as a spell that protects against other spells or a creature's bonus to saves against spells) also apply to impulses.

This is what they're referring to. Like Schroedinger's Cat, whether or not the impulse acts like a spell changes when it's observed by a creature being affected by it.

Though unlike the cat, it's not random chance but simply means if anything is bad for your impulse, it's a spell. Anything good, like a weakness to spells? It's not a spell.

Soon to be 1. Had planned to New Game+ after returning, but saw some great miqo'te glamours recently, so I'm making an alt to try some out rather than Fantasia'ing my lalafell.

Still on character name prog though.

A single adapter means you can't charge; the reviews on those splitters say they usually break after a month, or don't charge the rated wattage including supposedly reputable/popular brands like the $20 ugreen one; and Bluetooth has massive latency issues unless your headphones and the Frame both support the codecs and even the best codecs still have around 30-40ms.

The use case is pretty much any rhythm game with bass in the song, so it's not that specific.

If they were a BRD/DNC, the tank's damage down would have affected their rDPS parse.
