There are potential alternatives, like finding a single mom roommate and just having your baby and trading childcare. Or find a work from home job that doesn’t require silence or frequent FaceTime meetings.

No, I haven’t experienced that, I have only the occasional 4/5 star minor complaint about shade of color but no bad reviews to date.

Yes. I feel these sentiments exactly- when I look at my child I cannot help seeing more clearly than ever that my mother had extremely selfish priorities and was making irresponsible decisions that affected her children in profoundly negative ways. I would never do to my child what she did to us.

And her lack of interest in her grandchildren comes from the same place as her lack of interest in her own children’s well-being. Seeing this, we can move forward and do better, breaking generational patterns of abuse and neglect.

I see my mother as a friend rather than a mother figure and that helps me let go of a lot of the trauma she has caused. I remind myself she is just a human, not a villain and made mistakes that I will not repeat.

Exactly- when I get crap like this I cancel the order with a note that says something like: “The tone of this message has made me uncomfortable with this transaction, thus I have cancelled your order with full refund.”

Ick. This person even feels the need to “Neg” Etsy sellers when leaving a positive review. I’m sure we’ve all met the type- What a charmer.

And in the meantime you can also sell things on FB marketplace, Craigslist, EBay- I did this and brought in enough to get by one year.

I graduated with my bachelors during the 2008 market crash and made applying to positions my full time job. I kept a spreadsheet with the information about each job so that if someone called I would know which job it was.

After 300 applications I got 3 calls, interviewed and took one of the positions. You can do it, just be persistent.

To add some context to the automated discount coupons you can send customers, I made almost $3,000 in the last 4 months with the 10% thank you and the 10% abandoned cart coupons that I have set to auto-generate to customers my handmade Etsy shop.

Those extra sales do tell the algorithm that my shop is active and I believe contributes to my overall visability in search. I do not allow “best offers” though. It isn’t eBay- 😉

That is so scary mama- hang in there, they do grow out of this stage of being affected in this way by fevers. I’m sure the hospital gave you good advice for what to do if this happens again, so I won’t give any advice here.

Once my toddler’s hands turned deeply purple/blue and even as a nurse, I completely freaked out- the pediatrician said it was normal (only lasted a few seconds) but I will never forget the horror of that moment.
