It’s all cosmetic crap. They aren’t even bothering to officially change the names (where such is possible); the DoD is still the DoD. It’s just slapping hasty coats of shitty pool-sealing paint on everything and moving on.
Ironhorn
What does that have to do with this discussion?

So now we need electoral reform when things don't go your way...
I think you'll find that NDP supporters in this province have been asking for electoral reform for the entire decade that the NDP were in power (and, federally, even longer then that). It's not some idea that just sprang into our heads last night.
Ironhorn
So the Cons were in shambles making other parties that would vote split. Why wouldn't you just let that happen?
Likely because the exact same thing was happening in 2024, and when they did “just let that happen”, what happened was that the Conservatives and United sorted themselves out and went on to almost win the election.
They almost lost in 2024 by not calling a snap election. And in attempting to avoid repeating that mistake, they’ve now lost by calling a snap election.

It’s all fun and games until she decides she wants to try switching roles…

The lawsuit is between the municipality of Langford and these residents; it’s not between Scott Goodmanson and these residents.
As such it would continue forward regardless of who is on Council.
The only change would be if the current Council decided to drop the lawsuit.

You can criticize Eby for calling this snap election but there’s really no indication that the split in the Conservative Party would have been in any way permanent.
Just look at the schism two years ago of the Liberals into United and Conservatives. The split lasted only until the election came up, at which point United completely folded and told their supporters to vote Conservative.
Even without Eby calling the election, as soon as Findlay was out as party leader, the two factions were likely to remerge anyways.

Honestly, TalaFreako is a banger. It’s a top tier drag name just waiting for a queen to snatch it up. In an alternate timeline, Trump would have done so well as a sassy queer icon.

I was absolutely flabbergasted by Margo’s Got Money Troubles when “the best friend who lives far away and so only communicates to the main character by phone, never talks to anyone else, and always gives ‘advice’ that mirrors the MC’s deepest thoughts and impulses” just suddenly wanders into screen in one of the last episodes and proves themselves to have been real the whole time

Schur really is a master of sitcoms.
Most sitcom writers don't know how to write relationships well. They rely on the "will-they-won't-they" tension to carry the show and, if the two OTP characters ever do get together but the series doesn't end there, the writers will usually just saddle them with relationship problem after problem until they break up again, returning them back to a "will-they-won't-they" until they finally get back together again only in the final season (often the final episode).
Schur doesn't fuck around like that. When his main characters get together, they stay together. They have good, complicated relationships that grow over time, only making themselves better partners for each other.
That's WAY harder to do than stringing the audience along with the "will-they-won't-they" tension, but he has done it masterfully over and over, with Leslie/Ben, April/Andy, Jake/Amy, Jason/Janet, and Chidi/Eleanor

This is, in my experience, an incorrect assumption.
Agreed.
If you're a DM thinking "damn, my players figured it out too soon", then your players are probably thinking "damn, we're good!"

The only bridge too far seemed to be vaccines. When the “Trump Vaccine” first came out, Trump got it, and encouraged his fans at an event to get it. And they booed him. And you can watch him, on stage, sheepishly back off the subject.
Thats the only instance I can think of of a crowd not accepting what he’s saying

The thing is, they know that the McConnell and Kean cases are indefensible. They can’t justify it. But what they can do is muddy the waters. They can turn “your senator is unfit to serve for health reasons” into just another everyday accusation that gets thrown around, leaving the general public with the impression that “both sides do it, so both sides are just as bad”
Ironhorn
It doesn't matter
Their strategy is to just keep continually generating buzz that sounds roughly like negative press
The individual stories don't matter. Whether they can be proved, whether they are debunked, whether anyone even remembers them even a week from now, none of that matters. All that matters is that their base, over a long period of time, vaguely associates "Democrats" with "bad things"

It’s not the “having heard of it” part, it’s the “knowing hes already pled guilty” part.

He also seems to think that the prizes are handed out on, like, a per-war basis, instead of a per-year basis? How else could he win 8 different prizes for 8 different conflicts?

Is it not equally likely, if not more likely, that Beerus woke up, saw Gohan or Trunks, and correctly evacuated that they were nowhere close to being a Super Saiyan God, and so simply left them alone?

What is the difference between a “goth” and someone who has a “goth aesthetic”?

Maybe, but the NDP won't learn anything if they get to keep getting away with being conservative lite.
I don't necessarily disagree with you, but my fear is, "what lesson will they learn".
If the NDP lose this election, it wont be to the Greens. It will be to the Conservatives.
So will they learn the lesson of "we went to far right, we need to go further left?" Maybe.
But it seems they could equally learn the lesson that they need to go further right to get more conservative votes.
That seems to be the lesson they learned from the near-miss in 2024. That seemed to be the lesson the federal LPC took when their polling numbers were declining from 2023-2024, when Trudeau resigned and was replaced by Carney. That seems to be the lesson the Democratic Party took from their losses to Trump (Kamala Harris essentially campaigned on appealing to Republican voters).
I'm just not seeing any evidence of parties "learning the lesson" that they need to do better at courting the left. I only see them coming to the conclusion that they don't need leftists votes and going further right.
Ironhorn
No I wouldn’t because I read to the second paragraph of the article
If the deficit is bad now, do you think increasing it by 20-25% is the solution?
Ironhorn
That said I'm not sure there's a better option.
If you follow the region Langford is in back (admittedly a bit tricky since it does change over as districts are redrawn), you find that the NDP have won all but one election since at least 1986 (and you could possibly trace it back even further from there).
In all but one election since 1986, the Greens came third at best, after the Liberals/Conservatives/whoever else was running. (They did manage to come second in 2020).
I wouldn't tell anyone not to vote Green, and am tempted myself. But the Greens winning here would be a major upset. The most likely outcome is that we remain NDP, and the second most likely outcome is that Conservatives crawl their way to overturning an essentially over-half-a-century NDP dynasty.

I don’t really agree. The other two stories have a surfeit of characters, action, and intrigue. There’s a lot to explore there, and I think fans will particularly appreciate time and attention being paid to the Blackfyre stuff in the third story.
The Sword Sword is much more straightforward. There’s a minor conflict between two lords, both sides gear up for battle, Dunk resolves the problem, end of story.
Ironhorn
I love The Sword Sword, but it could probably be adapted into a single, 60-minute episode. A full season of it would be difficult to pace
Especially if the damage is to the back of the other person’s car. The story that you drove into him is going to sound way more likely to people then that he randomly reversed into you.
