That looks like something a crappy renter would paint. I hope you do background checks.

You are going to be so beautiful when you lose those RiffRaff strands. (Sorta joking because what hair you have is lovely, but it is not enough reason to keep it.)

No kidding. We were talking about how we can afford to use different grocery stores. We have Walmart and and failing local store in town. We drive 15 miles to the next town for Aldi. There are certain things I like, and some staples that I get at big box stores and the better grocery stores only available in the "big city"...so 30-45 minutes. We're helping the kids out because, well, this economy, and red dye 40 is something we avoid and I do the drives to treat the grandkids. Drinks and candies that are limited in crap should be everywhere...

Anyhow, we discussed how the same drink that I can get at Aldi for 59¢ is 79¢ at one store and 99¢+ at Walmart on any given day. Because I strategically shop to correspond to appointments, I'm not spending extra gas most of the time...but that isn't possible for the working poor. It cost me a couple gallons of gas to go to the city & hit the various stores. That $8 could be what someone spends extra by only shopping at Walmart. It could mean a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter. It's frustrating and my heart aches for those being hurt by the greed of the rich...even those who voted for us to be here.

So now Aldi is where I buy fancy cheese, some veggies, snacks, drinks and wine. Oh, and chocolate when I can afford it.

It's been like this for over 6 months. I quit buying it but would try it a few times. Not worth the double round trip. I swear you might as well open it in front of the cashier before you leave the store.

Man, it's a good thing these reprobates want to watch their crimes. Time to create a parole board specifically for sex crimes. Rapists and pedophiles ruin lives forever and many walk around the White House without a care in the world. President Biden removed the statute of limitations, it's time to really put it to use.

JaneReadsTruth

I make dog food which includes sweet potatoes. No need to worry.

The Navy?

They thought, because in Japan it is well contained, that it would help with erosion. Of course, they had no plans for maintenance. Hogs will dig 6 ft deep for the roots. We could get rid of it in a few years if anyone in the government gave af about the environment. Plus, feeding hogs when farmers and Americans are breaking could help feed us. But they'd rather import poisoned meat while they eat lobster and fail our troops. Ugh. Sorry.

Short: they didn't read the fine print.

JaneReadsTruth

In the US? Not in red states. And in reality, compared to most 1st world countries, also no in all states.

JaneReadsTruth

I hope Ms Locklear has the privilege to experience both sides of that door. "Get a nanny"...bitch, if she had nanny money you'd have to drive your entitled ass to the store to pick up your mediocre overpriced meal.

I'm not sure if you're still looking, but I make 4 cups of rice and typically do toppings. Just microwave a serving, add cheese, rotisserie chicken, peas, tomatoes and onions. Sometimes no meat. Sometimes kielbasa. If you are feeding the baby, it's fun to let them add their toppings like a dinner bar. This feeds me one meal a day for 5 days. I do the same with cheesy grits...for some reason, I love them with barely cooked mushrooms sausage and a handful of spinach. I also make potatoes the same way...mash a weeks worth and make various shepherds pies (so too speak).

JaneReadsTruth

I'm fine with that.

JaneReadsTruth

Healthier? Your chicken is brined in a salt bath and then twists and cooks in it's own fats...this its deliciousness. Easier? Yes. Cheapest? No. Typically you can buy a whole rotisserie chicken as a "door buster" (it costs more than you pay for it so you walk in the store) they run between 5 and 7 dollars and you get the whole bird.

With the whole bird you can pick the meat and separate it into dark and light meat. Light/breast meat tends to be a little dryer and will also dry out faster. I use it for chicken salad or eat it first. Dark meat is moist (less healthy but tastes better imo) so I use it for soups, dumplings, straight up on sandwiches... I feel like it freezes better so extends your time.

With the carcass (bones, skin) I make stock. It's so easy and you don't have to be a master chef. Put a carrot, a celery stalk, a small onion and smash a couple of cloves of garlic and add the carcass to a pot of water. I usually do 8 C water for one chicken. Bring to a boil, turn to low and simmer for at least an hour, lid off until it reduces to about half. Stock.

I generally add spices and herbs. I generally prefer it these days to use for Pho. Finding and buying the individual spices is expensive (worth it to us) but I started by hitting the Chinese grocery and buying the cube , the word escapes me, but I took a picture. Rice noodles, ramen (without the flavor pack) noodles and any veggies you want and quick meal. Reduced stock can be frozen in 1C servings and add a cup of water to serve one.

Idk about cheaper. The last time I picked out whole chickens they were about $12. It may work out to the same amount of meat per pound, but none of the production effort.

JaneReadsTruth

It really looks like that in every big city and a ton of cities ranging to fairly small. I'm in a red state in a town of 15k and we have one.

Too bad landlords and vulture capitalists are allowed to buy housing unchecked. The rents here are pretty crazy for the pay scale.

At some point America needs to recognize "essential workers" jobs aren't just teenagers and retirees. (And retirees shouldn't have to work unless they want to.) Income to rent ratio needs to be instituted because unfettered capitalism is destroying people.

His hair is glorious right now as is. I wouldn't even cut it, but I'm partial to where the wild things are.

JaneReadsTruth

People who do this are why we can't have normal things.

JaneReadsTruth

This, and I start with chilly packs on the bottom.

I would definitely question everything about that restaurant from the hand washing to the country of origin of the meat. Also, I wouldn't eat there. Not that I would ever order a raw or blue burger anywhere. Unless I grind it at home with meat from a local rancher, preferably the Menonites, I'm not ordering floor scraps.

JaneReadsTruth

WinCo carries a variety of gummies in their bulk section...but I'm a huge fan of the no artificial colors version.

JaneReadsTruth

So I chopped them up and made spicy orange chicken (I make my own orange chicken sauce. The one Aldi offers tastes like citric acid.) Between the rice and the sauce, it cooled them down. You can also go Italian or Chinese. Pasta and cream sauce or fried rice or noods.

JaneReadsTruth

Oh honey bear, you are going to be so handsome without the skullet.

JaneReadsTruth

I was at Aldi this weekend and a woman was returning the moldy hummus. Now, when I looked at the hummus, I thought it looked like an unfortunate choice of herbs, but I didn't buy it (it's easy to make).

I'm in the US. I promise you, we know your quality is in the toilet and you are practicing shrinkflation. Everyone is. Honestly, I started shopping for the prices, but stayed for the cheese selection, chocolate, and quality meats.

I hope there comes a day when inflation is under control. I hope when that day comes, you haven't destroyed the trust you built over the years.

JaneReadsTruth

Okay. I love this. And now I have questions and no desire to create a post.

I see these in embroidery hoops. I know hoops are fairly inexpensive. Is it possible to do square/rectangle pieces and stretch them like a canvas? When you give them as gifts or hang/exchange them for money, do you just purchase more hoops? Obviously I'm fascinated but I haven't done much so far.

JaneReadsTruth

Thank you!
