SmallRig Battery-Dummies. Experiences? (i.redd.it) [Gear]

Article is interesting, but has little to do with the headline.
The GPS spoofing seemingly was only one case. Might be me, but the writing is dogshit, jumping all over the place.

"Ai says" -> NO.
What this is, is the reason why you us a UV Filter on your lens or at least don't wipe it with your T-Shirt. Polished off the coating.
There is no beginner DIY route for lens coating, far as I'm aware.

Sounds to me like it was found where he left it, as in, the whole hoard/treasure/bank account.
So if the abbey was catholic (I'm assuming) then there would be a (weird) case for the catholic church to argue that this was their rightful inheritance. Doubly so if the abbey is still around.
JaschaE
Sooo, what are the chances of the catholic church demanding it, or at least half, because of the testatment?
Also: Holy shit, that is some incredibly detailed gold-stamping o_O
JaschaE
Nono, you got that down by virtue of using film.
JaschaE
Yeah, I have yet to hear anything bad about SmallRig (probably helps that their cages are by nature more stable than the camera in them)
JaschaE
Ah, didn't see that. Ampere seems to be the same, but the Sony-Adapter only puts out 7.2V.
I went for the USB-C one anyway, but they didn't have a pic of that ^^
*looks at price for original adapter" Their target audience for accessories is "People who are afraid all their money might crush them."?
~150€ where the SmallRig one is ~40€

That's why it has the built in humbling-device. No shoot goes by where I don't frame up the first shot, have my model in pose..nothing happens... and then I have to remove the darkslide I forgot.

Seems more likely to be rock-quartz, not "crystal-glass"

I wouldn't touch that lab with a pole, regardless of length.
The negatives are the maximum data that you can get. If you get scans that's already a reduction in resolution, in regular scans.
If you decide "Hey I would like to have this printed bigger." For whatever reason, dunno, maybe the snapshot you had of this rando your friend brought along turned out to be the first pic you took of your fiance.
You can't, not from a scan. But you can take the negative, have it rescanned at higher resolution (which would be prohibitively expensive to do for all) or find a lab that does oldschool enlarging, and you can have it poster sized.
So, any lab that treats the negatives like a waste-product instead of the "RAW-Files" they are, I recommend giving a pass.
JaschaE
Sidenote: I hear Walmart doesn't give you back the Negs. You want your negatives back. Even if you don't know it yet, you want them back ;)
JaschaE
Let's be realistic, it's the precise opposite of profit for most of us...
JaschaE
Fiction, in so far as this will not be seen much, at the expected price point. 200km range isn't all that bad. Wouldn't want to sit on it for extended periods, but given my income, I won't have to worry about that. Just: why the fuck do they always remove the footrests from the "futuristic concept bikes"? Happens so often that AI slop "bikes" usually come without, because they didn't get trainingdata with footrests.
JaschaE
Using flash? Seems to be some kind of double exposure. Got the negatives?
JaschaE
I was gonna say "snap faster" but that too, might be troublesome. Maybe just add a camera to the print?
JaschaE
Single, radio-activated speedlight (Yongnuo) about 3-4m from the model pretty much next to camera

Years of group pictures where the camera/phone was an arms-length up/in front of somebody in the midde, trying to fit everybody, which works best if the front row crouches a bit... Kinda pavlov conditioning. More important question: If you are the photographer, why do you leave them hanging like that?
JaschaE
Once upon a time I was invited to a small fashion-show. Models walked out a double-glass door, onto a catwalk in near noon-sun. I stood at the head of the catwalk and kept seeing this weird blinking in one of the glass doors. Turns out that was the "photographer" they had hired, hanging out of a second story window about 70m back, flash mounted above big white 70-200. They are out there (and might occasionally fall from their -brilliant- locations)
JaschaE
Would be acceptable to me, when it comes off my printer and I plan on sanding/finishing it anyway...as such: No.
JaschaE
Having recently rebuild a leaf shutter and learned about the tolerances involved, you might pull your hair out. Apparently Seiko shutters 1/400 could be 40% off, from the start, and still pass quality control.
JaschaE
By enlarging? Like...you take a negative, you project it in the desired size onto photo-sensitive paper, and then you develop that paper.
What you might also mean is the old way of creating printing plates for those magazines, where such pictures would be taped to a wall, with similarly enlarged print of articles and such, and then photographed onto metal plates that get developed for cmyk print

I am severely addicted to antisocial media like insta, but I'd consider a photographer-only picture site pretty pointless. It's like a conversation where most focus on what clever thing they are about to say next, instead of listening.
In recent (mis)adventures in attempted camera repairs, I have learned it's entirely possibly that a dropped part de-manifests, and only reappears a week later, deep inside the mechanism, after you have sourced/made a replacement part. So that would be my guess, if there is a screw in the hole where this should go.
