Im so sorry for your loss. Please take some solace in knowing that this is absolutely not your fault. I truly hope you realize that. There is nothing you can do to help an alcoholic until they decide to help themselves.

Even if you begged and screamed it would fall on deaf ears until they wanted to change. Unfortunately for a lot of addicts that realization either comes when it’s too late or doesn’t come at all.

I’m terrified this is going to be my daughter’s future with her dad, and have told him such, but he is an alcoholic who refuses to admit he’s an alcoholic or to stop drinking. I’ve tried and begged and fought on her behalf and it has gotten me nowhere. Just know this IS NOT YOUR FAULT. Alcoholism is an awful disease. Sending lots of hugs your way.

Almost the same for me and was worried about side effects. I spent 16 weeks on .05 and I’m upping to 1 next week. Lost 30 and hoping the other 20-30 can come off on 1mg and not have to go further.

If it is determined that your separate accounts are marital property, and you have to split yours, they would also have to split theirs.

Regardless of pronouns used, the observation still stands. If one partners personal account is subject to marital distribution then the partners personal account would be as well.

This is such a huge moment, and you should be extremely proud of yourself for recognizing there is an issue and being willing to stop!

As the partner of an alcoholic who drinks way too much every night after our little goes to bed and both refuses that he has an issue and won’t stop, I can tell you with 100% certainty that both your partner and your little one are so much better for you realizing there is an issue early on. Our 8 year old is starting to question her dad’s drinking.

The stopdrinking Reddit is wonderful. I lurk there a lot. I stopped drinking years ago, and very rarely have a glass of wine or a cider and find it helpful being someone who both stopped drinking and is the partner of an alcoholic.

Reddit, for all of its faults, does have a really good support system within that sub, I highly recommend it! AA has virtual meetings now, and there are other similar programs running virtually as well.

For me, I fill my downtime with reading and photography. I spend most nights after my little goes to bed reading, editing photos, or watching a show if I find one of interest. As of late with warmer weather I’ve taken to starting a fire in the fire pit and sitting outside by myself with a book for a few hours.

I don’t think I can say it enough, be proud of yourself for this decision! It’s such a big moment and you are so strong for this!

Avocado is a great snack that you can make savory or sweet and it will pack in some healthy calories.

Savory, I love it with salt and garlic powder.

Sweet, there are some chocolate mousse recipes made with avocado out there that I’ve seen raved about.

Did the same thing and just started my second month!

• I was terrified of the needle so I did numbing cream 1/2 hour before injecting (cover it with plastic wrap so it absorbs), wipe clean with alcohol and let the alcohol dry
• Take the injection out of refrigeration at least 2 hours before so it comes to room temp
• Inject at night so you sleep through any initial side effects.
• Drink lots of water
• Add a probiotic and fiber prebiotic to your daily regimen (I love the Olli peach ones)
• don’t eat spicy late at night (learned that the hard way with spicy salsa and a vomit fest in the middle of the night)
• have small healthy snacks on hand. I found that I get nauseous when I forget to eat so having some precut carrots and ranch or fruit salad has been so nice if I start getting nauseous.

One thing my doctor just said to me is don’t titrate up to the next dose until you stop seeing progress. I’m going on month 2 at .25 and down 11 pounds. Keeping stead at 1-2 a week after the initial week loss. (Started at 192, 5’2” and down to 181 as of this morning).

Also, my doctor said if nausea becomes more frequent there is anecdotal evidence that supports injecting into the thigh as opposed to the belly to minimize nausea as a side effect.

Thank you for this. I really appreciate the information! I’ve never know what was used for the sedative in previous cases as it always ended up being an emergency vet overnight/weekend issue and they just told me sedative.

I had no idea it wasn’t standard to use ketamine and just trusted them to make the right call being his vet. After googling a lot last night and seeing that straight ketamine indices a catatonic state and not a loss of consciousness I’m absolutely gutted. I felt guilt that we decided to end his suffering before it got worse and now feel even more horrible that his last moments weren’t the peaceful and painless send off that he so very much deserved.

Slime is great with a great story line. The focus on bouncing boobs gets annoying but that’s basically most anime. At this point if you’re female you either ignore it if it’s a good story line or don’t watch it.

“He won’t even turn to look at me but the anime girls have his full attention.” While he’s watching or in real life? If it’s impacting your sex life, it’s a problem. If it’s more of he’s focused when watching anime and you’re trying to get his attention, maybe ask him to pause it so he doesn’t miss the story itself? The former is the issue. The latter is just not wanting to have to keep pausing a movie/show.

If you want some petty revenge since you said he doesn’t like you looking at other men, go watch some Solo Leveling and let him see you enjoying some Jinwoo Sung or Jujutsu Kaisen for some Gojo.

Love this! I wish there wasn’t such a stigma with traveling with kids ‘not being fiun.’ We love sharing our adventures with our little who has been traveling with us since she was 6 months old!

We just found out about the stopover too and love the idea so much that we’re debating between extending a Scotland trip for next year or just taking a long weekend trip this fall since it’s an easy flight from New England!

Our little couldn’t say Pokémon well for the longest time and she called them “cokemon” 🤣

We’ve had our lynx rescue Puck for a year and a half and he’s still food obsessed. We finally got his gorging and vomiting mostly under control so I’ll take the small win. But his brother Gabimaru (also a rescue Balinese) was a stray and came to us emaciated and only 6lbs at about 1 year old. He is super food insecure after a year.

I think food insecurity hits differently on a more extreme level for these beautiful rescue babies who had homes and then were abandoned.

Our realtors were two married women and I remember clear as day when they both came and our little, 3 at the time, had met one of the realtors at that point but not the other asked who the other was. I could see the moment of panic in their eyes and immediately stepped in and told our little that she was our realtors wife and they were going to help sell our house!

My husband and I have told our little love is love and it doesn’t matter who we love as long as they’re a good person since she was old enough to listen.

It’s not confusing for kids unless adults, like OP’s sister, make it confusing.

Have not been to Grand Caymen as of yet! I think the best snorkeling I’ve had was a resort in Jamaica that had their own island that the back side was a reef. Closely followed by snorkeling in the Cenotes of the Mayan Riviera.

I saw people giving such high praise to snorkeling at Baby Beach and it was just meh.

Food for us was hit or miss too. My husband got good poisoning from Rum Reef so that was disappointing. Best food we had was a little dive bar we found our last night and the Screaming Eagle.

We just got back and are definitely in the minority but we’re in no rush to go back.

We thought it was just ok. We like adventures and excursions and found the island to be lacking in things to do. The snorkeling we experienced was mediocre. The beaches were nice but nothing extraordinary. We rented a car and went all over the island and the highlight of our 10 days was the day we rented a UTV and took ourselves through the north side of the island seeing the one ruin, the lighthouse, the coast and the dunes.

Maybe when we want to just spend days at a beach and not explore and go on adventures it’ll be a good place to go back to, but for now there’s a lot of other places we’d rather go.

And in all honesty, leaving was a nightmare. Give yourself 3-4 hours to get through the two rounds of security and 2 rounds of customs. Any sort of priority security you paid for is invalid for any of this unless it’s global entry which is only valid at the second round of customs. We got to the airport 5 hours before boarding and had a little over an hour once we were actually into the airport heading to our gate.

I bought a dress on a whim for my wedding while on vacation. I was on the fence with it and kept second guessing it for one reason or another and ended up being so stressed about it I bought a new dress off the rack 2 days before our wedding.

Looking back I hate that I stressed and pressured myself into a new dress because I was being so critical of myself. I wish I wore the original dress whenever I look at our wedding photos.

Before you decide to wear it or not wear it and get something new, make sure you make the decision with a clear head and heart.

We’re redoing our wedding photos next fall for our anniversary and I plan on wearing the original dress.

I would check with who you used as your closing attorney on that rather than the realtor. They’ll know a lot more if that’s acceptable after closing or not.
