Yeah, I don't mind doing projects so filtering sounded like the much better option to me. I wasn't about to pay to ship that great big box back on a hope of getting a good one. Nevermind four times!
Jnk1296
No kidding! I found that video of lava mods unboxing six of them and I thought "surely they can't ALL be bad." Annnnd by the end I was making the filter order. Such a shame for the price.

From my understanding, the fluid in these lamps is just distilled water and a surfactant if they're made after 2013 (iirc). The density altering chemicals are all in the wax. There's been a small amount of wax that stays at the top, but otherwise I can't say I've noticed any issues. If your lamp is older, then it could have affected the fluid.
Jnk1296
If it's low down enough, you might be able to position it to where you can't really see it for the refraction of the fluid? With this lamp, you can't see the smearing from a sitting position unless you look at it at just the perfect angle.
Jnk1296
This thing reminds me of the original Xbox menu lol.
Jnk1296
I may try this. The smears are already starting to grab a bit of the wax as it passes by.
Jnk1296
Well, here's hoping! 😁

Because RPM is just that, a count of rotations in a minute. Whereas mph is a measure of velocity. And depending on the diameter of the propeller, the velocity at the top of the blades will be different for the same RPM.

Biggest reason why I drink gamer supps. Can't be carbonated if it's powder lol.

I remember doing this once to an old motherboard as a nine year old.

My grandma is dead and I'm at work because corporate overlords demand the factory keeps running.

So I broke down this morning and plugged everything into Desmos to get a visual idea of what my math was doing, then googled some stuff to figure out how to adjust the curve as I needed and ended up with a much more realistic (IMO) power curve and ultimately a much simpler method as a result.

Purple represents my original math (and the issue I was having), Red represents my corrected math, and Green represents the corrective factor for the math for Red.
The resultant corrected method is as follows:
// 0 = RP, 1 = SmBP, 2 = LgBP, 3 = DP
private double pumpPowerPercentage(int pumpType, SettingsObject pressureSetting) {
double ultVac = switch (pumpType) {
case 0 -> Double.parseDouble(roughingPumpUltimate.getValue()); // 1.2e-1
case 1 -> Double.parseDouble(boosterPumpUltimate.getValue()); // 3.2e-2
case 2 -> Double.parseDouble(boosterPumpLargeUltimate.getValue()); // 1.2e-2
case 3 -> Double.parseDouble(diffusionPumpUltimate.getValue()); // 5.0e-6
default -> 0.000001; // 1.0e-6
};
int curveSmoothing = 1500; // Higher values lessen the rate of power drop off.
double correctiveFactor = (ultVac * curveSmoothing) - ultVac;
return (((ultVac / ((Double.parseDouble(pressureSetting.getValue()) +
correctiveFactor) / curveSmoothing))) - 1) * -1;
}
The resultant few percentage of power loss at atmosphere is no big issue to me, and likely more accurately represents real life losses.

I second this. Mine are somewhere around 6-7yrs and still look like new and the battery is still good for 12+hrs on a full charge.

Poor bb!!!

Nahhhh, no sin here. Look at that face! Let the girl eat her snacc in peace. ☠️

Hodoku says there are multiple solutions to this, so it's not considered a real sudoku, but it is "solvable".

Agreed. I knew about the seat issues before I even went to test drive my '14. Never had a single issue. I legit don't understand how it's so uncomfortable for some people.

And "side"?
The lamp is a Lava brand Grande. It can be purchased here. The star effects are a specific base option.
