Yeah with some fiberglass for support, that'd be the goal, then attach to a second recurved bow at the back, where the tips come pointing forward a bit (opposite the belly)

JohnRedLabel

I will be adding fiberglass for sure, I hope that is enough to help :)

JohnRedLabel

The goal would be to have that PVC completely straight. then it would bend past the riser. I am just worried about the PVC actually bending past the riser but the second bow should help with that.

JohnRedLabel

I posted a theory I would like to use in the below comment, let me know what you think. :)

JohnRedLabel

Thanks for your awesome update! So you'd recommend wood over PVC? My goal as mentioned, which may be a long shot for a first bow, would be to create a wooden riser, then use PVC for the arms (not sure on the correct glossary term here).

Now where I am facing difficulty is that I'd like to make this a penobscot bow. I should have mentioned I've shot 50-60# hunting compound bows. While a bit tough to manage (and I know compounds make it easier), if I am going to learn, I'd at least like to try to learn properly.

What do you think of a bow with a wooden riser with a cylinder drilled through for the PVC (straight). The PVC would go in through it and be epoxied in, then the rest of the bow would be shaped. This would allow for the use of fiberglass rods etc, and then i could make the back of the wooden riser flat, or even put a divot into it to mount the second bow to the back. Do you think this would work? The riser would be quite large as I'd have to hollow a part between the cylinder for the bow and the back for a handle, but I think this would look awesome and should perform okay?

Thanks!

I was thinking of mounting it like this, but my goal is a penobscot bow which adds a layer of difficulty if it's mounting to wood, maybe I could mount it to the PVC off the riser, I would really have to work with this a bit.

JohnRedLabel

I really just want to design a nice riser. I am not a total woodworking amateur and layered plywood seems like it would work pretty well for this as long as it's treated properly. I am currently working on a penobscot design which uses a riser as well as PVC, and then the second "bow" attaches to the back of the riser with bolts then ties to the main bow. But this design is proving very difficult. I am thinking of creating a regular PVC bow and running it through the riser.. I've honestly thought of a lot of designs here but I am at a roadblock.

JohnRedLabel

Woah, insane!

JohnRedLabel

No worries, you'll need an HID kit though, as well as a custom switch for your projectors :) just a heads up

JohnRedLabel

I've been playing it quite a bit... And I also just scoured the leader boards and didn't see anyone in GR76 holding a dagger in NA :(

JohnRedLabel

With Kaldei's point

JohnRedLabel

Well, I'm not talking about the FoK build, just strictly Shadow set.

Just eBay headlights :)

JohnRedLabel

I also haven't seen a single impale DH in Leaderboards, i figure this build is stupidly hard to put together.

JohnRedLabel

I have 2 augmented items, 70. The aquila dark heart thing is a great idea, I'll try that. I know my compass rose is trash :( Stricken seems really important for me in grift 71/72 for damage... i feel like I don't do enough.

JohnRedLabel

Yeah, Richard always does a great job (WrapID) :)

JohnRedLabel

Yeah I love them!

JohnRedLabel

I know :( #canadalife

JohnRedLabel

Vinyl Wrap :) Thanks man!

Not a problem. I hate seeing witch hunts like this start when the issue has already been resolved. You guys gave a refund.

I am going to have to steal that "half cocked without a cause" for the future. That's golden.

My question to /u/bitt3n would be, what would make you happy in this case. You seem to refuse to take charges for your overages, completely. What were you hoping for exactly? They made a mistake and acknowledged it, and compensated. Now what is your end goal by starting this?

JohnRedLabel

Hi /u/bitt3n ,

I see Cartika has commented again below. Good on them. Apparently they made an account just to respond to you.

My question for you is that, for a web hosting company, do you think their primary concern is the $15/Month MRR accounts? They have already admitted that this is a legacy platform. They were offering you free competitive upgrades to keep with the industry, as you mentioned, and frankly, they didn't have to. You don't see AWS telling it's customers which image type is spun up on the most powerful CPU's, it's on you. You had every opportunity to upgrade to their higher plan which they notified you of and you didnt. You signed up on their $15/mo plan signing off on the MB overages and that was never changed. What, did you suddenly expect it to change? Welcome to web hosting, you pay for what you use, if you use more you pay for that based on a rate established. Did you ever request at any point during your tenure for them to lower that cost, or maybe ask for an upgraded plan.

They have refunded you and done their due diligence. You just posted this to start a witch hunt on what seems to be (based on their CEO making a reddit account and responding) a very stand up business.

Just take your refund which they have given you and quit making this a huge deal.

Cheers,

John
