I don’t necessarily agree on a full reset but to your points, I think this stream is a prime example of how Brad’s strengths are more suited for solo streams. It gets frustrating how he simultaneously shirks responsibility of knowledge while confidently providing bad information.

And when he can be helpful he takes the arrogantly coy route. Like Vinny or Will asking, “how do I emote?” And Brad replies, “oh you mean like this” as he cycles through his emotes, but still doesn’t tell them how he’s doing it.

I wish he was more capable of riffing with Vinny and Will but that’s just not who he is. I think we would have gotten more out of having Alex providing commentary on the weird state of this game as Will and Vinny played through some missions.

I think I would have loved this game anyway, but this interview kinda makes it hit even harder.

You’re not doing anything wrong! Ginger island is kind of late mid game content so it’s meant to be a bit of a challenge. The other comments give good advice once you’re on the island.

You could put off the island for a little bit since you just finished the community center. Work on some reliable money making prospects (fishing + smoker, greenhouse + ancient fruit, pigs + truffle oil). Pretty soon 1000g isn’t such a big deal to spend even if you don’t make much progress.

I’m curious if anyone else on here used to listen to the Destiny Fireteam Chat podcast that Destin ran (runs?). The tone he takes in this video was very prevalent in the podcast.

It felt like there was an awkward tension sometimes between Destin and the other cohost, Fran Mirabella, who had a more sensible approach. I stopped listening a few months after Fran left because there was no one else to balance Destin’s uninformed confidence.

Brad, the king of superlative non-statements:

“It took me a long time to realize this game was about DPS and nothing else but that’s not entirely true.”

I really respected the way Vinny handled the conversation about the first Final Fantasy.

I’m glad Rob is against Patrick’s idea of a daily 15 minute podcast instead of a longer weekly cast. I feel like we would lose all the great tangents and in depth home appliance updates that a lot of us come here for.

I have always enjoyed this crew’s ability to get a meaty, savory conversation out of any level of game or topic… until Patrick interrupts of course /s lol

The difference in how Brad plays games on streams and the way he describes playing on his own seem like two different humans to me. He talked about starting Hifi Rush over on hard difficulty to make it more enjoyable.

Yet every time I watch him play Hitman, and every memory I have of Breaking Brad, is just painful. He’s usually getting upset with the game because of his own mistakes and only seemed to make progress on Breaking Brad by brute force. He seems genuinely unhappy playing games this way.

It makes me wonder if the BB show was started because Jeff wanted to call him out on his bullshit about playing games in a challenging way.

I saw Rob Mariano in the Atlanta airport last summer. He was carrying about 5 or 6 bags/pieces of luggage and had the exhausted look on his face of a person who is getting 4 children through a busy airport.

My heart jumped into my throat and I started to approach him. But the look on his face told me I should just let him get where he’s going.
