And when the owner of the discarded item for pick up is contacted by the collection agency because they can’t find it then what? They don’t just ignore missing items, they have a list of what needs to be taken because it’s based on type, size, weight, etc, for payment and they need to make sure they collect it. I know you don’t like the comments but what you’re doing is theft and causing issues.

JumpingJ4ck

I am your grandma, shut the fuck up.

JumpingJ4ck

Lap it up while you can.

Aobadai easily. Very clean, very residential, lots of space and big parks, and the surroundings of the station have everything you need with lots of shopping, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. It’s a very popular location for families. Lived in the area for a while and miss it a lot!

It’s a cultural exchange program first and foremost and she’ll get exactly that. My only concern for her being fresh out of college is if her assigned school is super rural she may feel very isolated for a while. It’s a great opportunity to learn Japanese and be surrounded by culture, but she’ll also need to be tough and be able to cope possibly feeling quite alone. But it is a very good program in my opinion.

Really cheap alcohol available 24/7.

JumpingJ4ck

Commenting for updates. Good luck OP! If he is yours then please go to therapy.

JumpingJ4ck

Haha you’re right sorry, I was thinking in terms of the rapid Den en toshi 😅

JumpingJ4ck

Not the best 😬 perhaps someone might be able to answer for you if you visit and ask directly.

JumpingJ4ck

You got reduced to a one year or have always had them from the beginning? Either way that’s rough for someone looking to get PR. Hope that changes for you.

JumpingJ4ck

Just past Futakotamagawa in Setagaya is where Yokohama city starts. Look at stations on the Den en toshi line and you’ll still be mere minutes from Tokyo, so you needn’t even move that far. Perhaps worth it to shave an entire year off your waiting time and still be in the area you’re familiar with.

JumpingJ4ck

Yeah it is confusing. If you check the Tokyo one it also says it has jurisdiction over Kanagawa but under the Yokohama branch. I take it to mean Yokohama city and Kanagawa pref applications are potentially separated but, again, can’t be 100% sure.

JumpingJ4ck

That is what I have heard and read but I could be wrong, so I’ll edit my comment to not confuse people if it is.

JumpingJ4ck

I agree, but that turnaround time of 3 months would be mighty tempting if I weren’t PR already lol.

I think Yokohama has a very reasonable waiting time. But I think to be forwarded to Yokohama you need to live in the city proper, so anywhere out in Kanagawa could still be sent to Tokyo (cannot verify if so all the time).

JumpingJ4ck

Use the estimator: https://dashboard.retrohazard.jp

You can basically live anywhere that does not have the applications sent to Tokyo for a much quicker turnaround time. Check the list of offices used.

The fastest is currently Sapporo, if you applied for PR today you’d have a decision by December this year. Since you are in Tokyo if you don’t want to move far then Yokohama has a turnaround time of May 2026. Tokyo is currently sitting at March 2027.

You need therapy or counselling. This may sound harsh but your post history indicates you are very frustrated with your life and yourself in general, complaining about your looks and women, and how much you hate Japan. There isn’t going to be an answer you get here that will satisfy you. I truly believe you need to talk to a professional before you get worse.

16 years in Tokyo here, my little corner of Setagaya is residential and quiet that it almost feels inaka. The big city is just 20 mins away for everything. Ditto on the cicadas and wind chimes being all I can hear right now.

JumpingJ4ck

She just sounds very overwhelmed. Why are you taking the trip and did she even want to go in the first place? Are you guys from the inaka? Hopefully she’ll chill out after a few days and realise she can rely on you to do things and keep her safe, because crying about how she doesn’t understand anything just screams shock to me and mixed with fatigue she’s bawling about it. America can be really overwhelming though for someone who has never been.

JumpingJ4ck

No, I’ve been here 16 years including for the 2011 one. That one lost me electricity for 3 days and we had to ration food at the combini to ensure everyone in the neighbourhood could eat, while shindo 5 aftershocks were happening every 10 minutes throughout the night. I am as prepared as I’m told to be for another one like it or worse. Not planning on uprooting my entire life for something that’s been predicted to happen at any moment the last 2 decades already.

JumpingJ4ck

Had it happen once in 16 years, but I’m also big enough and look like I might hit back so that probably puts them off. I didn’t retaliate because the guy looked like if I punched him he’d explode into dust. Usually for these types they go for vulnerable looking people and women it seems, or if they can make a quick exit.

JumpingJ4ck

Management consultant and lives in Hiroo, Shibuya? It says he admits he broke in but doesn’t remember about the jacket.

JumpingJ4ck

Hey OP, could this be him? 34 year old American man from Tokyo was drunk in Sendai and broke into a department store at midnight and stole a jacket worth about ¥50,000. It says he was arrested. Dated April 5th morning which lines up with your information.

JumpingJ4ck

You know him and he’s done that before? That’s quite a statement to make about a missing person. If you do know him then OP can probably (safely, somewhat) assume he’s being held by police.

JumpingJ4ck

It’s prime nomikai time as it’s almost the end of the working year here. Lots of people will be joining companies, leaving companies, graduating university, etc, reservations are super common around now. Wouldn’t think too much about it.
