Oh damn that blows. Will update comment.

It’s not that bad

There’s another quarterback from Texas who was persecuted by Cleveland…

I can read, I just think you’re a racist who doesn’t understand where bourbon is sold.

Two things: First, Twitter has gotten worse as a platform for disseminating information and has also started serving way more ads, which makes most Redditors scream and cry.
Second, is he not a dude from Apartheid South Africa who likes Nazis a little too much? If it looks like a goose, quacks like a goose, and steps like a goose, you can’t get mad when people call the goose a Nazi.
Of all the hills to die on, defending the world’s first trillionaire who lies constantly and is otherwise just an awkward turd is a really weird choice lmao.

The Mannings are friends with Trump, so it’s probably more likely than you think.

I’m just giving you a hard time. Max is the biggest whiner as of late.

Please for the love of God, get on a FaceTime or WhatsApp video call with this man before you go anywhere. If it is even slightly below board, call it off. This reeks of human trafficking.

Do his racing boots taste good when you lick them?
I never said I could beat him. But there are dozens of drivers in other series that would fucking demolish him, like Formula 1, for example, his teammate in Formula 3 until he was given team orders to let the owners’ son through.
He’s a bad driver and he cheapens the product. He doesn’t belong in F1. You can’t talk about it being the pinnacle of motorsport if there’s a guy who didn’t earn his way there.
There is zero, and I mean ZERO chance that Lance could have ever won Formula 2. He would’ve lost to Leclerc in 2017, Russell in 2018, Nyck de Vries in 2019, and so on and so forth.
His dad sabotaged Nick Cassidy’s career in Formula 3, and Williams engineered non-spec components for his F3 car. He isn’t just not very good, he’s also a cheater.
I’m sure he’s a great guy, the children of the ultra wealthy are always so well adjusted, especially when their dads make their money by building sweatshops.

I’m going to say some sicko shit, I haven’t cleaned my air fryer in over a year. I put one of those liners in and take it out. Granted I mostly just use it to make frozen stuff. I never thought about using it to make a whole chicken or something.

Idk if you’re being sarcastic or if you don’t know about the party realignment that occurred about 60 years ago when Richard Milhous Nixon raced the Republican party to the bottom of the barrel on the basis of “law-and-order”. More importantly, political parties were not as solidly on the political spectrum until about 1970.
If you don’t understand how stupid it is to say that the political left owned slaves, I recommend you read a book about politics that wasn’t written by someone who has appeared on Fox News. Left-wing policies are entirely about egalitarianism and a communal system of resource management. Slavery is incongruent with left-wing politics. Starting a civil war over mere possibility of the abolishment of slavery is inherently reactionary. If you don’t know what reactionary politics means, again, please pick up a book.

Don’t know what to tell you. Still visible on my end.
Comment is basically lambasting OP for thinking that anyone with a seven figure net worth writes their own speeches or other mass communications. They pay people to do it. George Russell did not write this.
I don’t think anyone should treat the Players Tribune seriously. It is a huge part of the problem with sports media and new media in general. There are no disclosures made for the fact that George Russell didn’t write that. No disclosures that he paid a ghostwriter to write it and then paid the BlackRock owned Players Tribune to publish it.
It’s crappy PR slop for athletes to try and change narratives about themselves directly.
Edit:
Russell’s is particularly brazen he has a line in there that basically says the quiet part out loud.
> I think that’s why sometimes I feel like my personality is a little misunderstood. Because I’m so focused on that part of it. Being fast. Everything else is just noise to me. I just want to perform. That’s my mindset: I want to win a F1 world championship. And when I do, I know I’ll want to win another and another … I learned that from being around Lewis and Toto.
He doesn’t like that people don’t like him. That is all this slop is. A whinge letter begging people to think of him as more than just a posh unlikeable rich kid who has won 6 races in 8 years of F1.
In general if you want to know if these kinds of articles are real, see if other publications pull quotes and cite it to write something of their own. Nothing in this is real so no actual publication with libel insurance will quote it.
And I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that this super sympathetic piece with no timely details was released the day after George had his most regrettable performance since Imola 2021. And the Players Tribune just has free stories with no ads or paywall because they just really care? Come on now. Media literacy is important.
JumpyAlbatross
I don’t know what to tell you. I just don’t like the Players Tribune and I don’t think it should be treated like editorial content. They treat their writers and photographers like crap and despite being a vanity project for Derek Jeter that is owned by BlackRock they nickel and dime everyone while charging athletes tens of thousands to publish their puff pieces.
It’s a crock of shit.
JumpyAlbatross
Do you think politicians and CEOs write their own speeches?
It’s not a difficult concept to grasp. Treat Players Tribune like a team press release. It’s all bullshit.
Like seriously, do you think a guy who gets the special treatment necessary to fuck off for the duration of his secondary school education has professional level prose?
JumpyAlbatross
Exactly. This subreddit would want Senna and Schumacher tried in the fucking Hague. It’s clearly not that dangerous or bad for the sport because it’s been 10 years and they haven’t changed the rules to stop it.
JumpyAlbatross
I also just refuse to believe that the Verstappens were pinching pennies to the degree that you can’t splurge on a second room for their son before he drives in an F1 practice for the first time. Or at least just go to bed instead of being a piece of shit. But that’s just Jos.

If I had a nickel for every time a Black man named Eric ran for mayor of a major US city as a Democrat and then switched to be a Republican once in office and went full off the deep end with the grifting, I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

I think the tweet with the video that I saw sums up the issue pretty well. Lando fans are on the younger side and are the kind of chronically online that demand statements acknowledging things.

Unrelated but the way you describe Gates is interesting to me and shows that his PR strategy of the last 20 years has worked wonders.
Bill Gates has been a net negative for humanity and most of the people who were alive for his rise to fame hate him. In the 90s people thought of Gates the way people think about Zuckerberg if Facebook was an integral part of your computer and was unfathomably expensive. The most important thing Gates did to get rich was crush the collaborative spirit of the early days of the computer. He did it so well that he was the first convicted monopolist in like 100 years. He then took his comical amounts of money and pioneered a new philosophy for the ultra rich where you don’t have to pay your taxes by starting your own charity and doing whatever the fuck you want that’s roughly “charitable”. Like thinking that the cure to AIDs is circumcising millions of people in Africa because he didn’t understand how to read an academic paper because he dropped out of college before they got to that part. Bill Gates sucks. Microsoft sucks.
Related to what you said, Microsoft has never made products that the public didn’t know they needed. Bill Gates has never known what people want. He saw what businesses were already using computers for and made some software that he could sell to every company on the face of the earth so they could all use computers roughly the same way.
Making things that people didn’t know they want has always been Apple’s wheelhouse. Making things that make companies more profitable has been Microsoft’s.

I get 20ish out of my 14” M3 Pro but that’s on tiny workloads. Idk, it’d be nice to really never worry about it again.

You’re tripping with this take. The blasters being made to look like earth weapons is a thing going back to A New Hope. Lucas had the props department convert old WW2 weapons into sci-fi looking guns. It continued for the whole OT. The prequels moved away from it but Rogue One brought it back with massive success imo by giving the team on Scariff AR-15 looking blasters. I actually thought the cutdown AK looking blaster was awesome. The whole point is to subliminally convey that they’re guerrilla fighters by using the audience’s established visual associations. That’s why all of the stormtroopers guns were old Nazi guns.
As far as the clothes looking too “earthy” I kind of see it on some things but honestly, I liked it. Felt like people in Star Wars finally had some functional comfortable clothing.

Well, I’m a journalist and former full time photojournalist who has won national awards for my work. My needs for cameras were dictated by what I covered which was a lot of sports and news. I have covered the World Series, Super Bowl, World Cup, F1 Grand Prix, WEC races, Final Four, you name it. When covering breaking news I have been shot at by looters, assaulted by fascists and nearly incinerated by a raging wildfire.
I absolutely only shoot with the big 3 because it is my livelihood and I can’t afford some obscure fucking bullshit to break on me. Look in a photo workroom and you will be lucky to spot anything other than Canon or Sony. Not only that, but 99% of the time, my published images are my JPEGs. Same goes for anyone who has ever worked for a wire service. I rarely get to shoot in RAW because I can’t wait to transmit a 50MP RAW file to an ancient FTP server on 1 gig ethernet while shooting. And that’s if I am lucky enough to get an ethernet connection and won’t just be transmitting with a fucking hotspot I carry in my bag.
The things that excite me about photography these days are innovations. Either new exciting lenses, new camera technologies that change the medium, or an even faster way to publish my work. I have an insane amount of money tied up in a camera ecosystem that I find to be stagnant, as do lots of other photographers.
Canon’s newest lenses are meant to appeal to people like me and yet I find them boring. I don’t use the 100-300 or 24-105 2.8 lenses. I should but I don’t, they’re just not interesting. I already have a ThinkTank belt, I want an exciting lens worth carrying all the time. The other problem is that these days lenses feel a little cheaper than they did 15 years ago. The original RF 70-200 feels like a piece of shit. They don’t feel as premium as they used to. I want a lens that I can throw in a bag and use for lots of different things without them breaking or giving myself back pain, like Sigma’s new 300-600 that weighs 9 pounds, which won’t be available for Canon cameras because they refuse to open the RF mount.
The first mirrorless camera with a global shutter is absolutely exciting. You’re out of your fucking mind if you don’t think the A9III is the most impressive camera of the last decade. I can actually shoot baseball or hockey with a mirrorless camera without getting a trillion rolling shutter artifacts per frame? Sign me the fuck up. I still have to carry a DSLR for panning photos and it’s exhausting, I want more natural looking EVFs.
Similarly, it’s awesome that if need be I can pull out my phone and take a picture that is of good enough quality that it can be published and it can be published as fast as my phone will load it. The best camera is the one you have.

They can throw as much money as they want at LLMs, it’s not ever going to make ChatGPT think like a human being. I believe they’ve pretty much proven that. What LLMs can do is automate or remove a shit ton of boring or otherwise menial jobs.
I don’t think of myself as a political nut, but I really do believe that AI is just an elaborate scheme to destroy what little power labor unions and blue collar folks in the United States have left by destroying millions of jobs. They’re already pitching it as these replacements for warehouse workers, truck drivers, writers, and teachers. Which is the Teamsters, Longshoremen, WGA, and Teachers Union. That’s where the money is going to come from. Money that would have gone to paying people will now be used in these B2B solutions for bullshit problems that they made up. Your truck driver has to sleep? Then just pay the AWS truck company for some of our self-driving trucks.
These people with billions of dollars fucking hate the middle class for having questions related to things other than the bottom line. This is how they get people to mine lithium, fossil fuels and whatever else they need to keep the arbitrary industry machine running at 100% efficiency.
Idk, I also might still be in total shock from watching the grandchild of Apartheid Nazis be applauded for throwing up a Nazi salute at a Presidential Inauguration.

Iirc there was a report from the Department of War around the turn of the 19th century that recommended the federal government set national education standards because drafted soldiers were unable to do required math (and I think in some cases even read well enough) to complete basic training.
Edit: found it
They’re a wealth fund with a church problem.
