Some food banks (not all, ofc) have deals with suppliers that make that money stretch so much farther than usual. Good on you!
Juniper-Reed
Ew, no. They’re hell to deal with trying to get prescriptions from :,)

Supplements won’t reverse anything magically, but taking them to support your skins restoration is not a bad idea. However as a mental illness patient, check with your doctor first about conflicts, and possibly for recommendations.
Sunscreen and coverage is gonna be key for you, as well as probably some hydrating face masks in your down time. I recommend checking out Skincare by Hyram (i believe) on YouTube for brand recommendations, since he’s done a lot of videos over the years.

They’re assholes every time
Juniper-Reed
What did you switch to? Im lower income, so ive been looking at different credit cards, and haven’t found anything super comparable

So you’re taking one very small sample size of 628 cis women from one central Turkish city (so, 7.85 × 10-6% of said global population) in which 1.1% had DID (in line with the NIH’s statistic, by the way) .. and saying that because if you exclude quite literally billions of people from *several walks of life (all AMAB, intersex and trans people, and in fact most AFAB women, anyone homeless, not from turkey.. i can go on) from the study, the NIH’s global population statistic on DID havers cannot be accurate..? Even though the prevalence did in fact line up where if a random sample was taken, 1.1% of the people (women are people) in the sample had DID?
Like.. are you willfully ignorant on purpose? The American National Institute of Health’s global study vs one small Turkish womens study, both lining up with each other regardless, and you’re still confused about correlation? I don’t know if you know how any of this works.
Juniper-Reed
Not only am I claiming it, the NIH is claiming it. You know, because that’s what it says.
Its not like its a small population to consider- 1% of the global population (~8 billion) alone is 80 million people. So the roof stat of people with dissociative disorders (5 percent) is 400 million.
I am absolutely willing to believe that out of 400 million people with dissociative disorders, 80-120 million (1-1.5% global) have severe DID. Because again, the scientists that have done more research than both of us combined have a peer reviewed scientific article (which you guys always want, but always ignore) saying so.
Juniper-Reed
Okay that is very simply just.. not true?
First sentence of the CEA:
“Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is a rare psychiatric disorder diagnosed in about 1.5% of the global population.”
The Introduction (relevant sentence highlighted): “Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is a rare disorder associated with severe behavioral health symptoms. DID was previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder until 1994. Approximately 1.5% of the population internationally has been diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder.[1] Patients with this diagnosis often have several emergency presentations, often with self-injurious behavior and even substance use.[2]”
And finally, the section you’re referring to:
“Dissociative disorders show a prevalence of 1% to 5% in the international population. Severe dissociative identity disorder is present in 1% to 1.5% of this [the international] population.”
As it is mentioned twice previously to be a statistic of the global/international population, you are misinterpreting the text as written and should probably stop trying to correct people.

Hi from NL :)

Depending on your issue, be careful with this one. I got laughed out of the practitioner’s office when I confided in him about possibly having a serious trauma disorder. (2019. I was later diagnosed with the most serious version of that disorder.)
Juniper-Reed
And horrible to deal with.

The important part is just making sure that its all dried. Mildew grows quick in hair and it smells rancid.
Juniper-Reed
Get a blow dryer with adjustable heat- i always alternate between warm and cold. You just need it dry, not fried.

My shoppers literally doesn’t answer the phone. Pharmasave though? I got my prescriptions called in sooner than I could even get past the automated teller system of SDM- if I could even access it at all.
Juniper-Reed
I actually had this problem- YOU NEED TO FULLY DRY YOUR HAIR IF ITS THICK!!! BLOWDRYER OR TOWEL!!
You cannot let it air dry! It takes far too long, so your hair can get really really musty and bacteria breeds. Other than blowdrying, ive had to get my hair thinned every 3 months. Your hair needs to be rinsed and blow/towel dried completely every wash.

I was the white boy in the drive through at the McDonalds i worked at in Vic, had to quit over sun exposure vs my meds + autism. Everyone else was a student or from the Philippines. Hard workers, but they often switched between English and their specific dialect. It made me irrationally anxious when i was being spoken to in a language i didn’t understand when being given work instructions a couple times
Juniper-Reed
They did that to me too when i switched to Public Mobile. 40/month for way better service.
unfortunately my internet is still bell, but its chill.
Juniper-Reed
Its a perfectly good sidewalk, before i movedclast year i walked it at least twice a week

Try waxing, maybe? Razor burn and ingrown itch sucks. If you insist on shaving though, keep your armpit skin tight by having your arm up as high as you can get it and shave in the direction the hair grows.
Juniper-Reed
Didn’t say it was good, said it was a joke.

- You wouldn’t know the first thing about statistics it seems; An estimated 1.5% of the global population is diagnosed with DID- and that’s only the ones that have access to a qualified professional (which is much rarer, since the field underfunds/researches us due to being “rare”). This statistic also doesn’t include OSDD or other complex dissociative disorders.
1.5% of the world’s population is about 120 million. source for dx stats here.
- People are still allowed to have fun expressing themselves even with a severe mental disorder. If they, a young adult who grew up on the internet want to commission/draw their alters, that’s what they’re gonna do. We don’t have to suffer 24/7/365 to be valid systems.
People fake, but without enough information? This is baseless bullying and nothing more. Thanks.
Juniper-Reed
Because most of them are, this sub is mostly low effort harassment.
Juniper-Reed
This is very very obviously a joke tweet i don’t know how you missed that
I got a number of them so my answer would be go in public. It’d be nice to spend the day outside and not have a total meltdown or switch out if something goes even slightly off. (Autism, ADHD, DID, C-PTSD, undiagnosed chronic pain issues)
